• Keep abreast of developments in the challenge events market, spotting opportunities and making recommendations on how to grow and diversify the programme.

In order to be successful, you must have experienced :

Excellent communication skills - in writing, face-to-face and over the phone

About the role:

As Trust Fundraiser, you'll be primarily focussed on raising funds through trusts and foundations to help Chuf deliver their ambitious 2024-27 fundraising strategy. A good chunk of this will be project based. You'll also be part of the Chuf fundraising team, so you'll be getting involved with all income generating activities. This will include assisting in the delivery of Chuf's in Memory Giving strategy through maintaining donors and providing fantastic stewardship. You'll also help the Director of Fundraising to achieve Chuf 's legacy strategy by maximising income generation through gifts in wills. First and foremost, you'll be a Chuf Fundraiser; making sure supporters receive first-class supporter care.

You'll be able to manage projects and balance competing priorities and will have experience achieving set income targets. As a key member of the Service and Support team, the new Health and Safety Officer will work closely with groups providing transport services, and employees managing offices and shops to ensure the application of the Risk Management Framework. The postholder will manage the audit process carried out by external auditors, and where appropriate, audit activities carried out by groups also (property and transport). The Health and Safety will investigate accidents and incidents as appropriate, following up with outcomes and changes to the Risk Management Framework.
 
To be successful, you will have experience of working with in house Health and Safety systems, covering risk areas associated with volunteers. You will have a NEBOSH certificate and be a member of the institute of Occupational Safety and Health. You will have an in-depth knowledge, and up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, particularly those that relate to the voluntary/charity sector. You will have experience of risk assessment, inspection and auditing procedures, with experience managing the health and safety of either properties or transport. A charity supports people living with dystonia; an often debilitating and painful disorder that is lifelong and is estimated to affect around 100,000 people in the UK, Dystonia UK is a lifeline for many. In addition to running vital support groups, this small but mighty organisation actively lobbies on behalf of patients and runs national awareness campaigns to help increase understanding of a condition that can be hugely debilitating.

The organisation is expanding and is looking for a talented Communications Officer to work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Communications in a role that will be busy, hands on, and key to communicating the amazing and important work this organisation undertakes to its audiences.

Key responsibilities within the Communications Officer role will include:

• Writing engaging copy for a variety of mediums including both printed and digital
• Support the Director of Fundraising and Communications in creating and designing digital and print collateral for campaigns and events
• Lead on the design and publication of high-quality digital and print information about Dystonia UK, its services, projects, and about dystonia, the condition, and medical services.
• Work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Communications to identify and communicate key news items and be responsible for the production and dissemination of the e-marketing

• Plan and organise activities to raise awareness of Dystonia UK, tying in with other notable calendar events such as Dystonia Awareness Month

Dystonia UK is a small charity, and this is a busy role where someone with some communications experience will have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic Director to really develop their skills and expertise both operationally and strategically. You'll be in a position of responsibility and will be able to work autonomously whilst also working with closely with and being supported to learn.

The postholder will be responsible for processing various types of income and will play a key role in documenting the Charity’s fundraising activities

Key responsibilities of the role: 

• Working to process fundraising and donor income for the Charity
• Carrying out data imports on Microsoft Dynamics
• Performing data amendments and data cleaning
• Exporting data to external agencies
• Batching donations and allocating them into various areas
• Creating reports using MS Access
• Performing new donor imports
• Carrying out manual amendments of supporter records on Access
• Batching online donation payments
• Writing/amending/running queries in MS Access to create monthly reports 
• Carrying out clawbacks

Ideal candidate profile: 

• Experience in a similar Data Officer position within a Charity
• Advanced Excel experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications including MS Teams, Outlook and Word
• Excellent written and communication skills

This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to travel to Budapest (subject to successful probation and candidate having necessary rights/visas for travel). You would need to be available around 11th to 19th September 2024 to attend the charities World Congress.

Work setting: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Salary: between £25,000 to £29,500 per annum

The Role:
As an Events and Operations Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering a portfolio of events, including a renowned Annual World Congress and regional meetings. Working closely with the Event Operations Team, you'll contribute to the planning, development, and flawless execution of events, ensuring they meet the highest standards and deliver exceptional value.

Main responsibilities:

*Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest level of service for members and stakeholders, promptly resolving issues and delivering outstanding customer support.
*Event Delivery: Collaborate with the Event Operations Team to deliver virtual, hybrid, and onsite events, managing logistics, communications, and participant support.
*General Event Support: Manage event inboxes, update web pages and promotional materials, coordinate travel and accommodation, and provide administrative support for event logistics.
*Programme Support: Assist with speaker management, programme planning, abstract submissions, and educational course operations to ensure smooth delivery and participant satisfaction.
*Operations: Support membership services, data processing, education course operations, and general office administration.
*Compliance and Development: Ensure compliance with data protection guidelines and develop positive relationships with stakeholders.

Essential requirements:

*Experience in events management and operations.
*Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent time management and attention to detail.
*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
*Proficiency in CRM systems, event management software, and Microsoft Office.
*Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.
