- Lead, motivate performance manage and develop a team.

Events Fundraiser
Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

MRF National Events Programme
The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.
Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.
The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.
With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.
With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

Working alongside the Community Fundraising Manager the role will be responsible for being proactive in engaging local communities to maximise income generation by developing a plan to gain more supporters. The role will be responsible for system maintenance, configuration, user support, troubleshooting, and enhancement projects to ensure the effectiveness, control and reliability of our finance systems.

About you
- You will have experience in finance systems administration or related roles, with proficiency in ERP systems (experience with UNIT4 is an advantage) and financial reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose effective solutions.
- You will be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity in financial systems.
- Possess a solid core accounting knowledge & is comfortable working with both financial & non-financial data

- Excellent IT skills and extensive experience/knowledge on using Microsoft packages.

The Role
We are looking for someone to join the hugely successful and vibrant Fundraising team at NWAA. Duties will include:
- Developing and implementing a local fundraising plan to maximise income generation across Lancashire
- Researching, identifying and developing long term partnerships with appropriate groups and associations, individuals and volunteers
- Working closely with retail staff and volunteers to maximise synergies across Fundraising and Retail
- Acting as a positive ambassador for NWAA, promoting and raising awareness of its service and delivering engaging fundraising presentations to potential and existing local supporters.
The Person
We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who is creative, organised and excels in building relationships whilst managing a diverse workload. Crucially, you should have the ability to communicate with a variety of people so you should be personable, warm and engaging. The team at NWAA is full of passionate people wanting to save lives across the North West so you should be enthusiastic about the work of the charity and excited by the future of growth that lies ahead!
