Young People’s Senior Peer Research Coordinator - Haringey
Are you passionate about working with young people? Do you have experience of project management, involvement and research methods and helping others to do research?
If yes, we have the ideal job for you. We are working in partnership with the Peace Alliance in Haringey as part of the Peer Action Collective to develop solutions with young people to address youth violence. The work is funded by the Youth Endowment Fund.
Working with young people aged 10-20, as well as local secondary schools and colleges, the project will carry out peer research and develop social action projects.
The person in this role will be excellent at co-ordinating multiple projects and groups, with strong project management skills and will be a core part of our delivery team. You will also get the opportunity to work on other young people’s involvement projects at McPin.
The post is full time and will suit someone who would like some flexibility in working hours, as there will be evening, weekend work plus school holiday activities, including Wednesdays and Fridays from 4-7 pm at Tottenham Town Hall. Your time will be split between working from Tottenham Town Hall in Haringey, the McPin Foundation offices in London and remote working as needed for project delivery.
You will link with stakeholders – schools, the police, local councillors – to help build networks to drive our social action projects forward.
Most importantly you will be supporting and mentoring young people as they learn about peer research and develop social action projects to drive change.

As our Senior Specialist Substance Misuse Nurse you will provide a range of Health and Wellbeing, and harm reduction interventions to our clients in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery, whilst providing clinical leadership to a team of passionate and supportive Substance Misuse Nurses. You will deliver high standards of nursing care to substance misusers and be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Registered Nurse with Valid registration via the NMC
- Demonstrable experience of maintaining accurate records, managing other staff, and providing and receiving supervision
- Demonstrable experience of performing in a senior role within a relevant healthcare setting
- Demonstrable experience of running clinics and/or group work
- Demonstrable experience in designing, undertaking and leading in clinical audits and service improvements
- Knowledge of risk assessment and management and its implementation
- Thorough awareness and understanding of drugs and their effects, and understanding of relevant legislation, issues and debates in the drugs and alcohol field
- A strong understanding of the roles, responsibilities and structures of agencies involved in responding to drug and alcohol issues
- Demonstrable ability to work constructively with a wide variety of groups and individuals, and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written to be able to manage competing/conflicting demands

About the role: We are seeking to recruit Refuge Support Officers to provide support services to women and children within our domestic abuse refuges. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, providing high quality advocacy and support based upon a client-led needs and risk assessment. Your responsibilities will include supporting the co-ordination of a range of online, national, and regional face-to-face education events. You'll also oversee our digital survey account (SmartSurvey) to gather feedback for continuous improvement, as well as attending and overseeing face-to-face events as needed.

Additionally, you'll represent the Association externally, including at conferences, and handle pre and post-event administrative tasks like mass emails, attendance reminders, resource collation, and certificate distribution.
Being a team player is essential. You will liaise with internal colleagues including regional staff and care admin to support project objectives and provide necessary information to our Conference and Events team to ensure efficient running of events and projects.
