About the role:

This role is based in London and offers hybrid working both from home and our office in Singer Street. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate for Male Victims you will:

• implement effective ways of working with male victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
• provide a high-quality, front-line service to male victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
• specialise and be leading practitioner for Male victims of domestic abuse; providing advice, guidance and single point of contact for a male victims

You will need:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

About the role:

This role is based at our West Bromwich office with the option of hybrid working from home. Travel across the area is required, travelling time is within working hours & expenses are reimbursed. The hours for this role are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 8am to 4pm & Tuesday 12pm to 8pm.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Effectively managing a caseload, delivering excellent services via telephone, video call and in person to support service users
• Assessing need and risk at initial contact and on an on-going basis
• Developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans for those affected by crime, who accept ongoing support. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
• Helping service users build healthy coping mechanisms and providing practical support and information
• Identifying and providing action to safeguarding concerns
• Working collaboratively with key partners
• Using a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contributing to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes
• Delivering awareness raising sessions on the impact of crime to partner agencies and community groups and participating in community events.

You will need:

• An understanding of the impact of crime
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• A proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s)

About the role:

This role is based from either our Blackpool or Preston office. We are looking for a group facilitator to cover South and Central Preston, Wyre Fylde Lancaster and surrounding areas. • Considerable experience of working with children and young people, experience of delivering groups would be advantageous.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. You will be joining Women in Prison’s new fundraising team which secures funding from a range of sources including individual donors, corporate supporters, and charitable trusts and foundations. ShareAction’s Banking Standards team seeks to work with stakeholders such as banks, investors, and NGOs to make sure the banking industry take responsibility for their impact on people and planet. We have a history of campaigning on key aspects of banks’ climate strategies – such as their emission reduction targets or their fossil fuel policies – and we are gradually expanding our campaigning, research, and engagement work to other sustainability themes and banking regulation.

Position

What you’ll do (key responsibilities)

The Research Intern will primarily support the Senior Research Manager in updating, maintaining, and further developing a database tracking climate-related commitments made by the largest European banks. The commitments that we currently track include banks’ fossil fuel policies and emission reduction targets. The banking tracker is a critical source of information with multiple use cases: data collection for the banking survey and other research reports, engagement with banks and investors, and ability to respond quickly to announcements and media queries. The banking tracker was initially developed in 2021 to address specific research-related needs but has rapidly grown in size, in line with the scope of our banking research. Its use cases have also evolved in line with campaigning activities, and researchers aim to update it on an ongoing basis (e.g. when a bank makes a new commitment). Maintaining the database mobilises significant resources and further developments are needed to unlock the intended efficiencies and economies of scale across various use cases. The database is currently hosted in Excel and we are exploring alternative database management systems. The Research Intern will primarily support this effort during a 12-month internship.

In close collaboration with banking researchers, the Research Intern will contribute to the following tasks:

• Streamlining the structure of our internalbanking tracker (currently in Excel) and data collection process to ensure updates are made in a consistent manner across banks and themes (e.g. decarbonisation targets, sector policies such as fossil fuel policies).
• Developing our banking tracker to include new research themes (e.g. green finance targets).
• Integrating our banking tracker into the research process for banking surveys, ensuring that data can feed into survey questionnaires and scoring sheets.
• Strengthening the environment and infrastructure of the database to address performance issues and minimise operational errors.
• Reviewing banks’ sustainability disclosures and updating the banking tracker accordingly.

We are keen for the Research Intern to get exposure to all areas of ShareAction’s banks workstream. Depending on the team needs, the intern might be asked to:

• Support the Senior Campaigns Officer review resolutions paperwork.
• Contribute to the development of research positions that will inform the contents of our next banking survey and the more systematic consideration of climate justice concerns into our work.
• Provide ad-hoc admin and team support.

About the role:

This role is based at either our Preston or Accrington Office. After six months probation you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. All travel costs to and from appointments from your office base will be reimbursed.

As a Triage & early Intervention worker you will be:

• Making initial contact assessing and providing information to victims/survivors of domestic abuse
• Providing any immediate safety and support needs for the victims/and their children(s) including safeguarding when required.
• Providing administrative support to our wider team to support them in the delivery of advocacy to victims/survivors of mainly domestic abuse.
• Liaising with the police and other agencies to ensure all relevant information is collected including safe contact numbers and consent from victims/survivors.
• Gathering feedback from service users and collating this into monthly reports and contributing to monitoring information for the service.
• Participating in regular supervisions and reviews.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the myths, facts and misconceptions about domestic abuse.
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Understand the needs of victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
• Understand the effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed practice.
• Have a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as the Service Delivery Assistant for the new Thames Valley Adults Victim Service. You will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, Thames Valley Police, criminal justice agencies as well as other statutory agencies and third sector organisations across the Thames Valley.

Funded by the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley the Adults Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will be delivered in an innovative manner primarily through specialist group work provision - alongside online and telephone caseworker support. It will also play a vital role in making victims aware of crime and supporting agencies support victims of crime.

Your role will include updating systems, creating new cases, and answering internal and external enquiries. Other roles will include updating and researching systems to provide management information and ad hoc support as needed. You will be organised, have the ability to multi task and form positive working relationships with both internal customers and stakeholders.

You will need:

About the role:

This role is based at our National Contact Centre in Cardiff. There will be an initial induction period that will run Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9am-5pm for a 4 week period. After successfully completing your induction, you will move to your fixed hours of Monday to Friday 7pm to 11pm.

Confident, compassionate and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations.

You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.
