Director of Movement Building role description (0.8 FTE)

• Lead the organisation’s movement building approach, seeking long-term transformational change to our financial system and wider economy through building the power of individuals, churches and Christian networks, as part of a wider social movement for a more just and sustainable future.
• Design, implement, and lead strategic initiatives and projects for a more just use of money, especially developing individual and church learning and action on the financial system and wider economy, managing people and budgets.
• Identify and deliver learning and action opportunities, including around how individuals and churches use their own money and on tax justice. Conduct training and produce written resources in a variety of media for churches and individuals to understand the financial system and wider economy and to take tangible action.
• Develop and maintain a reasonable level of expertise in areas including ethical finance, an overview of the financial system, Christian ethics, and adult/ lay education.
• Along with the ED, be an external face of the organisation, positioning JustMoney Movement as a leading voice on issues of faith and finance, through speaking engagements, media interviews, and developing strategic collaborations to broaden reach and deepen engagement.
• Support the ED in helping to deliver JustMoney Movement’s strategy to see money shape a fairer, greener world, including managing risk, and safeguarding the culture and values of the organisation.

If so, join St Giles Trust as a Community Link Worker where, as an important member of the SOS Royal London Hospital Team who are embedded within the clinical team, you will provide vital support for ‘high risk’, vulnerable young people both when they are admitted to hospital following an injury of violence and following their discharge, where you will engage with them in community.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and holistic assessment, advice, referral and support service to young victims of violence, exploring innovative and effective ways of supporting them which will reduce their risk of re-victimisation.  You will deliver an outreach service that includes advising and advocating on behalf of the young person and their family, providing practical support that will include setting up access to and helping each individual, following their discharge from hospital back into the community, to engage with specialist support services. In turn, helping them to navigate the impact that follows post peer on peer violence.  This will include providing vital help with mental health and wellbeing, housing and social support, ETE, substance misuse, finance, benefits and debt.

You will also be expected to assess young victims of violence with reference to St Giles’ assessment practices and to produce support and risk management plans based on these assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, while developing and maintaining effective relationships with partner agencies is also an essential element of the role.

• Personal experience of the criminal justice system, lived experience of the issues facing this client group and/or experience of working with ‘high risk’, vulnerable children, young people and/or families

• Substantial experience of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young people and of assessing the needs of children and young people who are at risk of significant harm

• Experience of using support plans, to enable people to successfully access support services

• Proven experience of working in a high intensity environment and to manage effectively your own wellbeing

• A working knowledge of relevant services for young people and their families in the service provision area

The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice across areas of law including but not limited to information law, intellectual property, contracts, procurement, trusts, charity, litigation, insolvency, subsidy and state aid, public law and judicial review.

In addition to providing substantive advice, the role requires a Senior Solicitor to be able to research and upskill on new areas of law quickly. Further, it is expected that the Senior Solicitor will use his or her legal knowledge to improve the Fund’s internal processes and precedents, and ensure that the Fund complies with statutory and regulatory frameworks at all times.

The bulk of the Senior Solicitor’s workload will consist of autonomous matters and legal queries. These will need to be answered in a timely manner. Further, the Senior Solicitor will also work on larger scale projects where the opportunity arises.

The Senior Solicitor will be working in a team of 6 within the AID team and 14 within the wider legal team.  The role does not include any line management responsibilities.

Knowledge of subsidy law and/or procurement law would be beneficial, as would experience gained in the UK.

About ICT at Hope into Action 

ICT is critical to delivery of the Hope into Action vision of every church lovingly making a home for those experiencing homelessness. We have experienced rapid growth across the UK and are now in 35 towns. Our ICT provides a vital window for each town in the Hope into Action network of people, policies, document storage and training resources. Our internal ICT capacity is mission critical. Our first line helpdesk is outsourced. This role will take the lead on several key projects that will ready out ICT infrastructure for the next phase of growth. 

About the role 

Our ICT Network Lead is both a strategic and user-empowering role. For this role, you would be someone who is flexible with an ability to keep systems running smoothly whilst at the same time pursuing improvements.

Hope into Action has a strong culture of continual improvement and pursuing excellence. Working with the Head of Operations, you will immediately focus on the implementation of our HOPE Processes project to enable all our projects to realise significant efficiencies in managing significant numbers of processes connected to our houses, tenants, investors and donors.

Whilst progressing other projects, you will oversee the induction and training of new staff and franchise partners. You will manage the outsourcing of IT contracts, including help desk, finance, CRM databases, mobiles, landline, internet and printers / copiers. Oversee the on-going development of the SharePoint Online site as a robust efficient tool for day-to-day use. You will introduce new ways to monitor the satisfaction with ICT across the network and take responsibility for data security.

As an Employment Consultant, you will be assisting veterans across South Wales back into work. As an experienced nurse you will be supported with an induction to palliative and end of life care, exploring areas such as advanced communication, symptom management, pain management and development of advanced clinical skills such as PN, PD and ventilation.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide a high standard of palliative nursing care to children and young people who have life-shortening conditions, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans, ensuring that the care provision is adapted to meet the complex needs of the individual.
• Provide nursing care at end of life and bereavement support including last office procedures, for the child, young person and their family, with support as required.
• As necessary, provide care for the child, young person and their family in a variety of settings, ensuring the care plan meets the needs of the individual.
• Collaborate and liaise with a range of professionals to meet the needs of the child, young person and their family taking opportunities to promote and raise awareness of the services provided by CHAS
• Maintain and accurately updates all written and electronic records in accordance with appropriate legislation and organisational standards.
