Age UK East London are recruiting a Community Engagement Officer to join our growing Community Outreach team. We support hundreds of people a year to maintain their health and wellbeing, combat social isolation and digital inclusion through the varied activities and by signposting to relative local support services. 

We support some of the most deprived communities in the UK, tackling poverty and health inequality while promoting independence and well-being. 

Working in well networked and integrated systems you will make a key contribution to improving the lives of adults, their carers and the wider community. 

Job description 

Job Purpose 

• To provide a high-quality outreach support service that enables older adults with low level support needs to live independently within the community. 

• To a promote network services across the Boroughs to maximise their take-up. 

• To work closely with statutory and voluntary sector agencies to ensure appropriate services are accessed. 

• To ensure that service users have maximum choice and control over the planning and management of the service they receive, including initiating individual support plans and connecting them with culturally appropriate services. 

Key Tasks 

• To signpost people to appropriate services as required through outreach sessions in the Hub, Satellite centres, GP practices and pharmacies. 

• To develop shared working practices across the service network. 

• To work closely with providers of similar services 

• To work to agreed individual, team, and organisational objectives. 

• To work with existing activity groups at the hub and satellite centres and support the setting up of activities where appropriate. 

• To ensure all contacts with service users are recorded appropriately and to maintain an adequate filing system. 

• To use word-processing software to produce own correspondence and reports in accordance with relevant policy on confidentiality and data protection. 

• To collect monitoring information to enable the service to be evaluated. 

• To provide support to services outside of normal working hours and occasionally attend sessions when required. 

Administration  

• To ensure all relevant administration is organised and efficiently completed. 

• To assist co-ordinating service user client surveys/questionnaires as appropriate, collate feedback and evaluate the service provided. 

• To assist with the collection of data necessary to provide specific information needed for KPI’s and external requirements and outcomes. 

• To ensure all data is collected through AUKEL organisational customer relationship management data base systems. 

Quality 

• To be familiar with and to implement Age UK East London’s policies and procedures.

At Mosaic - Supporting Bereaved Children, we are clear that our mission is to enable children and young people who have lost someone very close to them to come to terms with their grief in a positive and caring way.  Our work transforms young lives and we'd like you to be part of this.

We are looking for a passionate individual to help tell our story to the local and wider community about what we are doing, and how we transform young lives. We provide counselling to more than 400 children and young people every year, and support many more families and professionals through our uplifting weekend activities, and education programmes.  This role -engaging, communicating, campaigning - is simply vital to our success.

 This is a new post for Mosaic so the individual will have a chance to shape the strategy, advise the CEO and Trustees about our communications and marketing, and be part of a friendly and highly motivated team of 13 (mostly part-time) staff, working on events and activities, fundraising, counselling, training and education.

The role will involve:

Researching and adivising on how we best engage with our audiences such as our volunteers, families and other charities through different channels and approaches.

Creating a communications strategy which will strengthen our profile, and improve our website's content, look and feel to ensure more clarity about what we do, more reach and impact

Developing our social media content with the team, thinking about how young people use it and producing metrics on this.  Work with our young people, volunteers and others to create fantastic video content to show our impact.

Leading campaigns for Mosaic, driving impactful communication and building partnerships with the media and other organisations across Dorset to support our mission.

Be part of the team effort to create an overall five-year strategy for Mosaic as we grow, thinking about how we demonstrate our impact and the great relationship we have with schools and charity bodies across the county.

Create press releases and moments where we can tell everyone about the work we're doing, and supporting national campaigns on child bereavement.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience of working in communications, preferably with some marketing experience.

A good track record  of utilising a data-driven and goal-oriented approach to produce effective awareness campaigns

Experience of working with different  platforms, including Meta and TikTok.

Experience in analysing group to create tailored user-journeys

An understanding of media and confidence to engage with them at a local and regional level

This is an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Development Officer (Early Help Outreach) to be involved in supporting and developing the volunteer aspects of the Befriending project in the Westminster area and to ensure that the organisation reaches and supports as many families as possible, primarily those aged 0-16 years and referred by the Westminster Early Help service as step down families. In addition, you will support the Outreach team supporting families of those aged 0-5 years.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Team Leader on all aspects of volunteer recruitment, such as ensuring there is a continual bank of active volunteers, publicising vacancies and organising and conducting interviews. You will also be responsible for supporting the delivery of volunteer training and providing one to one support and group supervision as appropriate. The post holder will also support holiday activities with wider teams and outreach support.

You will need to have experience of volunteer recruitment and training as well as experience of managing volunteers. As the Senior CRM Database Officer, you will combine your strong CRM technical and analytical skills with excellent communication skills to ensure that all our internal & external stakeholders are presented with accurate, accessible data.  You will work within the Fundraising Operations team (FrOps) providing quality CRM data related support and advice to Fundraising CRM users in line with team service levels and performance targets.  In this role, you will identify, implement and write up process improvements; develop & deliver complex data campaign mailing selections & analytics to Fundraising CRM system users for direct marketing purposes; provide support and cover for data import processes and deliver training and procedure guides.  You will also maintain and develop our CRM data systems, ensuring our data accuracy & integrity meets all Fundraising compliance standards.

Oldham Poverty Action Network Coordinator

The role

The post holder for this role will be responsible for co-ordinating the work of the Oldham Poverty Action Network and leading on bringing the Network members together, leading on the co-ordination of the key projects and programmes that tackle the root causes of Poverty in Oldham, ensuring that local people, community organisations and institutions can collaborate through the Network to achieve the Network’s shared vision. You will work closely with Oldham Local Motion who is a key funder of the Oldham Poverty Action Network.

The main things you will be asked to do in this role:

· To provide effective coordination of the work of Oldham Poverty Action Network and it’s associated programmes of work.

· To facilitate the Network’s meetings, creating the space for inclusive innovation through workshops and workstream meetings.

· To work alongside Network members to plan and deliver projects and programmes to tackle the root causes of poverty in Oldham.

· To engage stakeholders in the work of the Network and to ensure that the membership of the network is open and inclusive and reflects Oldham’s communities.

· To ensure that the work of Oldham Poverty Action Network is delivered in line with the aims and values set out by the Network and Local Motion and strives for excellence in coproduction and collaborative practice, including continuing to be driven by those with Lived Experience of Poverty.

This is a demanding, yet hugely fulfilling new post in which the post holder will have overall responsibilty for the management and day to day operations of our new mobile support van. A large proportion of the post holder's time will be spent taking the van along with a team of volunteers on outreach to where there are survivors of sex trafficking. Our immediate priority area is Bedford. This will involve driving to sites of sexual exploitation and trafficking, such as the streets, properties used as brothels, airports and other places, as necessary. The post holder will lead outreach sessions supported by trained volunteers, in partnership with Bedfordshire Police and UK Border Force. The post holder will be a part of Azalea's frontline team (we call this Encompass) and will work with them to offer survivors of sex trafficking crisis intervention and ongoing support. The nature of this form of outreach will require the post holder to work flexible and unsociable hours (37.5 hours per week), however Azalea offers a generous annual leave allowance. Since this is a new role, the post holder will be required to use their initiative and draw on the knowledge and experience of the team to develop a full-time operational plan for the support van.

This Fundraising Officer role will sit in the Events team. This team is responsible for a portfolio of third party organised sports events - such as London Marathon, Tough Mudder, Cardiff Half and skydives - that will raise £4.4 million in this financial year.

The Events team is a part of a wider Community, Events and Products Fundraising team. Our vision is to engage, grow and inspire a community of passionate fundraisers to power the fight for mental health. Because together, we can change lives.

You'll play a pivotal role in the department's strategic objective to sustain and improve the portfolio to raise £12.9 million by March 2026.

Key duties and responsibilities

The post holder will:

- Provide support for people taking part in third party organised sports events in aid of Mind. This will include sending supporter communications, providing ongoingsupport, following up non-payments, personalised thanking, and supporter surveys.

-Attend supporter led and third-party events to help enhance our supporters' experience and deepen their relationship with Mind.

-Support the Senior Fundraising Officer in the delivery of events fundraising activity. This can include planning, writing and submitting briefs, generating marketing and stewardship communications, working with third party agencies, setting up web pages, delivering memorable on the day experiences for our supporters, reporting and analysing live activity and conducting evaluations.

-Analyse and interpret data, including marketing and stewardship performance, and adjust tactics to continuously improve and ensure results are met.

-Maintain high standards of data capture by ensuring data entered on systems are accurate and timely, in accordance with the team's requirements.

12.  As a key member of the Development Team to work closely with the Development Director to actively, engage with employers and external organisations to promote CareTrade and our job seekers and to pursue opportunities to work collaboratively.

13.  To attend events, to market CareTrade to autistic jobseekers and to liaise with Disability Employment Advisors at JobCentre Plus, Disability Services teams, Social Workers and others to promote and support employment opportunities as needed.

14.  To organise and promote social groups for jobseekers.

15.  To collect data and use data analysis to help produce reports, internally, for funders and partners.

Fauna & Flora is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Technical Officer, Enterprise  to support the design, implementation and knowledge exchange of conservation enterprises and related local sustainable finance mechanisms that generate finance for conservation and/or improve the livelihoods of local communities at Fauna & Flora’s projects around the world.

You will be supporting business model development, private sector partnerships, project management, fundraising, capacity development and communications. You will work closely with our regional programme and partners in 20-plus countries, who are working on the ground to deliver conservation impact. 

You will be a highly motivated and organised individual, looking to apply your expertise in business and finance to solve conservation challenges. You will have an understanding of developing business plans and developing financial models. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to liaise across teams and cultures as well as from rural entrepreneurs to corporates and investors. You will enjoy applying your business skills to complex issues and explaining these in plain and accessible language. You will have excellent facilitation, training and coaching skills and passionate about supporting others to develop their knowledge and skills while being open to learning and able to quickly pick up new skills.

ROLE PURPOSE

This position involves identifying and prioritising potential donors capable of making significant contributions to help us deliver a range of projects aimed at enhancing the student experience and supporting the local community. By providing the Development and Fundraising Team with tailored and insightful research, this role will enhance the prospect funding pipeline and facilitate the cultivation of a diverse pools of donors, including individuals, grant-making trusts, and companies. This role will also manage a well-structured stewardship program for donors. Responsibilities include promptly acknowledging donations, creating personalised impact reports, and overseeing bi-annual events which recognise and celebrate their support.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

· To maintain and develop the University’s database of fundraising prospects through proactive identification, analysis, and segmentation, (individual and aggregate) record updating, and original research, including the identification of new prospects.

·  To prepare prospect profiles (which may include wealth ratings), and work with relationship managers to devise appropriate tailored cultivation and solicitation plans, enabling appropriately targeted fundraising asks.

·  To develop and manage reporting in the database across fundraising portfolios to help ensure prospects are strategically moving along the prospect pipeline towards major gift solicitation • To produce and provide due-diligence reports on prospective donors as part of the University’s gift acceptance procedures.

· To deliver an annual donor recognition event to acknowledge and celebrate the support of the University’s most generous supporters.

· To organise smaller bespoke events for higher level donors to the university, for example, site visits to project sites and/or opportunities to meet student beneficiaries.

· To write insightful and impactful bespoke reports for donors supporting the University, ensuring reports demonstrate the positive impact of support and encourage repeat gift solicitation from the fundraising team.

CONTEXT

The primary purpose of the Development team is to secure philanthropic income to support the delivery of the University’s Being Westminster 2022-2029 strategy. The Development team forms part of the Global Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing and Communications (GRAMC) directorate. The team also works closely with the Business Engagement Directorate to deliver an integrated approach to the University’s relationships with its key external stakeholders. The Development team collaborates with the Alumni Relations team to inspire and engage the University of Westminster’s vibrant, global community of alumni and supporters to build lifelong and mutually beneficial relationships with the institution.
