Salary: £15.85 per hour + holiday (£31,000 salaried FTE)
Hours: Temporary, part-time (30 hours over 4 days per week)
Length: Up to 3 months
Location: Central London, hybrid (1 to 2 days per week in office)

We are delighted to be supporting a national charity that uses sport to inspire and engage young people in their search for a Communications Officer (0.8 FTE) to join their team for up to 3 months.
This is a temporary, part-time assignment for 4 days per week, ideal for an experienced communications professional or freelancer who is confident delivering hands‑on tasks while also providing sound communications judgement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload, ranging from media coordination and event support to social media and campaign activity, and who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Supporting media monitoring and outreach, filtering coverage, identifying relevant stories and assisting with targeted pitching.
- Helping to coordinate logistics for a large-scale celebration event, including pre‑event planning and on‑the‑day activation.
- Assisting with various campaign coordination.
- Organising visits and events, managing consent forms, liaising with photographers, coordinating materials and issuing media invites.
- Providing ad‑hoc social media and content support, including drafting posts and producing communications outputs during busy periods.
- Offering general communications support across the team as needed.
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- Experience in communications, PR or media; ideally with the ability to work flexibly across monitoring, outreach, events and content.
- Strong organisational skills and confidence managing logistics across multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, engaging copy.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and readiness to “roll up your sleeves” while also bringing sound judgement to communications activity.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support the team during busy periods.
