Dog School plays an essential part of achieving positive change in the community; aiming to prevent the development of problem behaviours in dogs which may lead to relinquishment or euthanasia. Our teams provide positive, high quality, welfare friendly advice on dog training and behaviour during our fun, educational classes. Using only reward-based methodology, the Dog School aim is that each dog leaves the school with the ability to follow basic cues and behave well in everyday settings.
Working alongside, and under the supervision of the Head Coach, you will help to organise and teach a minimum of 15 dog training classes per week (both online and in-person) to the public, where necessary providing support on 1 to 1 basis to participants who may be struggling with specific training elements. You will also assist with all administrative duties and, acting as a Dogs Trust ambassador, you will promote Dog School in the local area through networking with relevant local businesses and targeting potential local events.
With an understanding of dog training along with excellent communication you be self-motivated with huge amounts of energy and strong interpersonal skills. You'll be passionate about helping dog owners better understand their pets with the aim of encouraging a positive long-term dog-owner relationship and will be capable of dealing with them in a sensitive, effective and polite manner. You will also need a full manual driving licence.
We want our coaches to be empowered and able to lead classes and work alone in the future, therefore we provide lots of opportunities for ongoing development. All team members are developed towards their APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) assessment and ongoing membership is paid for. We also offer comprehensive training packages focusing on Dog Training, Customer Service, Presentation Skills, Key Management Skills and Media training to help you make a difference. We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approx. 4 miles apart on a Rota basis. A full induction and continuous training will be given.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.

Responsibilities

Cleaning & Room Setup
- Ensuring the buildings and grounds at HT are clean, tidy and ready to be used for our different mid-week events and for our Sunday services, liaising with our contract cleaners and carrying out cleaning duties yourself
- Setting up for events and services, moving tables / chairs etc as needed
- Litter picking externally and ensuring our grounds are well presented and well-maintained
- Keeping note of stocks of cleaning materials, and ordering more as needed
- Ensuring our stocks of clean laundry are always sufficient, sending and receiving laundry and liaising with our laundry contractor as needed
Kitchens
- Keeping our commercial kitchens clean and tidy and overseeing record keeping
- Understanding and ensuring compliance with our requirements under the Safer Food
- Better Business food safety management procedures
- Ensuring our kitchen equipment is well maintained and arranging annual gas safety checks
- Carrying out daily checks
- Keeping track of levels of cleaning supplies and ordering more as needed
Fire Safety
- Carrying out weekly fire alarm tests
- Carrying out other regular tests and checks, such as emergency lighting tests & fire door seal tests
Health & Safety
- Understanding and ensuring compliance under the COSHH regulations
- Regularly checking and re-stocking first aid kits
General Maintenance & Ad Hoc
- Performing maintenance tasks as required, such as painting, gardening etc
- Moving items as need between our buildings and off-site storage unit

The Weir Link – a small and vibrant charity and community centre in SW12 (Clapham Park/Balham), are recruiting a Facilities and Bookings Co-ordinator to join their team. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator, looking for flexible, part time work, while making a tangible difference to their local community.
Working in close collaboration with other members of the team, some examples of the role responsibilities include:
Facilities co-ordinator
- Liaise with cleaning, maintenance and building safety contractors to ensure the Centre is kept in a safe and orderly condition for all our users
- Organise regular testing of building safety systems, including the fire alarm system and fire drills
- General housekeeping duties, including managing utility companies, logging meter readings and ensuring records are kept updated
- Ensure the overall appearance of The Weir Link, both inside and outside, is in keeping with our vision to be a welcoming centre for everyone in our community
Bookings co-ordinator
- Manage our growing number of bookings and activities, both those at The Weir Link and other venues we may work with, from responding to enquiries in a timely manner, checking and updating The Weir Link diary, sending booking forms and invoices, checking payments and responding to feedback

Person specification
We are looking for a motivated, organised and reliable individual with a “hands on” approach to these responsibilities, and other activities when required. The successful candidate will be flexible, resourceful, efficient and committed to contributing in a meaningful way to our local community.
Some experience which would set you up for success in this role, could include a background in managing facilities or venue organisation and/ or some finance or marketing administration experience.
Key skills required:

About the Role
The Learning Support Team offers support to Teams helping young people to develop core skills – both practical and academic, widen their existing interests, and explore new ideas. You will be involved in delivering group and one-to-one sessions, Maths and English tuition, tailored to individual needs; working with the rest of the team around the young person to ensure all our young people are provided with appropriate access to education engagement.
