Every year thousands of students volunteer to build communities around activities and social issues that are meaningful to them. These volunteer student leaders have a huge impact on the student experience of thousands more of their peers, as well as hundreds of people in the University’s local community. The Student Development Team aims to create opportunities for students to build and participate in communities that are inclusive, sustainable, ambitious, and impactful, and the Senior Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in achieving this vision for our student leadership programmes.
In collaboration with a second Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be leading on a series of volunteering programmes that we’re really proud of. Since September 2023, student volunteers have raised over £150,000 for charitable causes, given over 2,800 hours of their time to volunteer directly in the local community, and broadcast an award-winning radio station, among other achievements. As the Senior Volunteer Coordinator you will coordinate the onboarding, skills development, and tailored support for volunteer student leaders who, in turn, coordinate their own volunteer teams. This means you’ll play a vital role in shaping our student leadership culture, as the way you manage your volunteers will influence the way they manage theirs.
This role is of strategic importance to our student leadership programmes as, alongside coordinating your own volunteering programmes, you’ll be working with other student-facing teams to inspire colleagues to develop their own volunteer management practices.
Our programmes are well-resourced, and we have an outstanding research & insight function that will support you to make data-driven decisions on making our programmes even better. We offer a comprehensive training programme for skills you might want to work on, from giving and receiving feedback well, to coaching and safeguarding. There’s no need for previous Higher Education sector experience – you might have coordinated teams of people in any context. We’re looking for someone who is capable of motivating or inspiring others into action, comfortable making autonomous decisions, and curious about exploring new ways of working.
This is an exciting time to join the Student Development team as we overhaul our approaches to volunteer management across the Union to ensure that volunteering remains attractive to students already balancing commitments including their studies and paid work. Main duties and Responsibilities:

Key working and managing a caseload of individuals and their families, ensuring those we work with receive support appropriate to their individual needs. Supporting and signposting with regards housing, welfare rights, legal support, health, education/employment, and other aspects of life.

At least 1 year’s previous experience in a support setting. Preferred experience of working with people who have been affected by abuse, trafficking, homelessness, mental health, complex needs, offenders and/or refugees.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer to join our Wellbeing team and work across two new projects aimed at improving older people's lives. Working closely with Age UK's Network of 120+ local and independent Age UK partners, this role will support the delivery of projects across their life cycle, ranging from the implementation of funder-led reporting requirements to liaising with partners on the impact the project has had on their beneficiaries.
The successful candidate would enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to ensure the successful delivery of the projects. Upbeat Communities delivers several services to welcome refugees and support them to rebuild their lives. We are looking to recruit an Integration Worker who will offer support working on the refugee resettlement scheme.
Refugee resettlement takes place across Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. Over the past 7 years, Upbeat Communities has welcomed and played a key part in the resettlement of Syrian refugees in partnership with local authorities in both counties. This role has included supporting families to apply for universal credit and set up bank accounts, registering with GPs and local schools in addition to integrating into their local community. Since the summer of 2021, we have taken on responsibility for the resettlement of Afghan families in both regions.
This role requires working within a fast-paced and dynamic environment to manage a caseload of participants' families, with a lot of travel across the county of Lincolnshire. Areas covered could including Sleaford, Bourne, Spalding, Skegness, Boston.

About the role
The Hardman Trust supports people on long prison sentences to take their next steps in life. As the office, grants and programmes administrator your role is to help make this a reality through the day-to-day support of our work. You’ll help to ensure our programmes run smoothly, and that the staff have the administrative support they need to provide a quality service to people accessing our programmes.

Arts for Dementia is a small charity but a leader in our field. We work with artists, galleries, museums and community spaces to offer inspiring arts programmes for people in the early stages of dementia and their companions. - Supporting the Marketing Communications Manager with the provision of campaign metrics and analytics to support the collation of monthly/annual reports, ensuring learnings from previous campaigns are included in future campaign activities
- Supporting the Marketing Communications Manager to ensure Brand Asset Management system is fit for purpose and updated regularly and provide support and training to new members of the organisation
- Supporting wider teams including volunteering and events to compile and send e-updates to their target audiences
- Supporting the Marketing Communications Manager on internal communication requests ensuring our intranet is updated regularly
- Undertaking a variety of ad hoc activities as required to support overall marketing communications objectives
What we're looking for in our Marketing Communications Assistant:
- Graduate or relevant experience in Journalism/marketing or communications
- A post graduate marketing qualification (or working towards one) (Desirable)
- Excellent communications skills and a good eye for detail
- Good knowledge of current best practice in marketing including the use of digital media
- Strong writer who can adapt tone of voice for different audiences
- The ability to use and have experience of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- The ability to use own initiative and know when to refer issues up to a more senior level

Community Support Worker – The Role & Responsibilities:
Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire operate a range of community based support services. These are primarily short-term support services, with the aim of allowing people to remain independent in their own home for as long as possible. Our services promote independence and overall wellbeing by providing information and support to people experiencing difficulties around isolation, physical health, financial, and housing issues.
The successful candidate will deliver services to people in Nottingham City primarily, but also support people in other districts as required. The post holder will provide telephone and face to face support which includes welfare checks, confidence building, help with shopping, benefit support, and information/signposting. They will need an awareness of the issues vulnerable people face and be empathetic, sensitive, and able to empower people to self-manage their needs.
