We are looking for a passionate and strategic campaigner, change-maker or systems change practitioner to be our new Social Change Manager, leading our ambitious, cross-organisational Stigma Programme. This programme brings together multiple strands of work – from policy change and partnerships to narrative change and storytelling.

You will lead on engaging and mobilising private, public and third sector stakeholders to reduce stigma. With understanding of systems thinking and/or narrative change, the Social Manager will be able to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder workstreams while keeping a focus on long-term impact.

The Role

As a Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraising Area Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of membership fundraisers based primarily in the West Midlands with coverage across Shropshire and Worcestershire and this wider vibrant area. The Organisation

Action on Disability (AoD), founded in 1979, is one of London’s leading Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations. The Independent Living Service (Direct Payments) is a new service that will provide support to Direct Payment users within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The service will enable Disabled people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives. The post-holder will be working alongside disabled people to enable them to have more choice and control over their care and support needs.

The Role

In this role you will be providing essential information, advice and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will work with Disabled clients to empower them to take control of the support they need by using Direct Payments, employing their own staff and accessing activities or services. You will ensure that individuals have the right information to make informed choices and will help them to set up and manage their chosen support.

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience of budgeting and recruitment are essential for this role.

Experience of working in social care is not essential as training will be provided, however a “can-do” attitude, a commitment to a person-centred approach and a willingness to learn is a must. Being part of a small team, there is a lot of opportunity for you to develop and learn new skills.

The work is varied and calls upon a wide range of skills, and there is huge job satisfaction in supporting people to achieve greater wellbeing and independence.

You’re confident using a range of SEO tools (such as GA4, Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog) to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and use insights to inform decision-making. You also have experience working with cross-functional teams to align SEO with broader digital and organisational goals.

You have a solid grasp of digital PR, link-building, and local SEO strategies, and understand how these areas are shifting in response to generative AI and changing search behaviours.

In addition, you’ll bring:

• A deep understanding of SEO principles, including technical SEO and on-page optimisation, with experience implementing changes through a CMS.

You'll work directly with ethnic minoritised communities to increase awareness and improve uptake of vaccination, screening and treatment services.

Working with the Head of Alumni Relations and Director of Development, the postholder will design and implement a Regular and Legacy Giving strategy that aligns with the university's philanthropic and engagement objectives. You will develop and establish best practices for regular and legacy giving, ensuring a sustainable, data-driven approach to alumni and supporter fundraising.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of fundraising and regular giving within a higher education or non-profit environment. They are looking for someone with strong understanding of donor engagement strategies and fundraising techniques, including direct mail, email, and digital fundraising.
