Art Explora is seeking a freelance Project Coordinator to work closely with Art Explora’s Community Programme Manager to take the first steps in establishing our Arts at Home programme in and around Birmingham. 

Art Explora is a non-profit arts organisation was founded in the UK in 2021. Our mission is to tackle the social, economic and geographic barriers that prevent many people from having the opportunity to take part in the arts. We increase access to arts and culture through innovative programming, new forms of engagement and by taking cultural projects into the heart of communities, schools and care settings. We believe in building connections through the arts. 

Arts at Home helps older people access arts and culture by encouraging conversation and connection through art. We work with a dedicated team of trained volunteers, who deliver our Arts at Home sessions in care settings across London. 

During these sessions, volunteers introduce residents to a variety of artworks, accompanied by open-ended questions and thought-provoking prompts designed to spark conversations and connections within care settings. Our aim is to bring residents together to encourage independent thinking, combat loneliness, improve their wellbeing, and to experience arts and culture just as everyone should have the right to.

We are now looking for looking to expand our offer to Birmingham and are seeking a freelance project coordinator to establish initial partnerships with care settings, recruit and train volunteers and coordinate the pattern of delivery.

Who we are looking for

• A team spirited, organised, proactive and reliable individual 
• An interest in arts and culture, with a passion for engaging new audiences 
• A good knowledge of arts engagement practice in the UK and leading organisations in this field 
• Able to respond to challenges with flexibility, positivity, and solution focused 
• Proven experience of working with volunteers including recruitment, training, logistics and personal management 
• A confident communicator (oral and writing), with an enthusiasm for building creative partnerships and capable of working with a wide range of stakeholders and partners 
• An interest in working directly within the care sector 
• A proven track record of budget coordination, data reporting and administrative support 
• The Project Coordinator will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which Art Explora will carry out upon appointment. 

£150 per day based on three days a week for 24 weeks (approx. September 2025 to February 2026). Up to £10,800 allocated for the total project delivery fee.

Background

The Maypole Project supports children and young people with complex medical needs and their families across the UK. Our vision is that all families with a child with complex medical needs will have access to our support from diagnosis, for as long as they need.

Our unique model provides emotional and wellbeing support through counselling and therapy services for parents/carers, siblings and other adults involved in caring for a young person with complex medical needs. We provide counselling and play therapy for children and young people with complex medical needs, a youth club, buddying and activity programmes which are also open to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The Maypole Project has been providing vital services to families for over 21 years and is in an exciting phase of development. We are recruiting a qualified and experienced Child Therapist to meet the growing demand for support, and to grow and extend our provision to meet the needs of more families who would benefit from our unique model of support.

Overall purpose:

To provide appropriate, professional and responsive therapeutic support to children (the child/ren who have complex medical needs and/or their siblings) in 1:1 sessions through the integration of counselling with therapeutic creative and play skills. 

Role responsibilities:

Children, who have been assessed by an experienced member of the project’s counselling team, and with parental consent, will be referred on to the post holder who will:

· Work to The Maypole Project Model of Support for children and young people, providing therapeutic support through an integration of counselling with therapeutic creative and play with a caseload as agreed, relative to hours at a minimum of 5 clients per 7 hour working day.

• Undertake The Maypole Project mandatory in-house training (20 hours)
• Attend a training update session at least once per annum
• Contact the client’s parent/guardian organising an initial 1:1 meeting with them to talk through the issues their child faces and agree the time, location and frequency of sessions in line with Maypole Support office guidelines/room availability where applicable.

· Set up and clear away the therapy room that has been tailored to each individual client’s needs.

• Attend monthly group supervision (2 hours)
• Complete client notes and The Maypole Project paperwork as required
• Liaise with their Line manager or the Clinical Supervisor in case of questions/difficulties
• Follow The Maypole Project policies and guidelines including staff code of conduct at all times.
• Attend service-wide activities including family activity events and fundraising events

Support:

You will have support from our Children and Young People’s Therapies service manager for clinical oversight and day-to-day issues and a supervisor for Clinical advice/direction.  Attendance at monthly Clinical Supervision is mandatory.

Location:

Initially based at our premises in Orpington with some remote provision and possible travel to schools, hospitals, hospices and clients’ homes.

About The Role

The overall remit of this role is to:

1. Lead prospect research and funding trends analysis, identifying strategic opportunities and informing fundraising strategy

2. Strategically map, expand, and cultivate high-value supporter networks, taking ownership of key relationships

3. Design, implement, and optimise comprehensive stakeholder engagement journeys, ensuring a high-quality donor experience

4. Support good governance in Climate Catalyst by planning and organising the work of the board, with direction from the CEO

5. Lead and manage high-level stakeholder engagement strategies, including direct engagement with members of the Strategic Council to foster sustained partnerships.

Strategic stakeholder relationship management, engagement and mapping (70%)

• Strategically identify, research, and qualify high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate prospects, developing robust pipelines for major gifts.

• Identify, cultivate, and steward significant donor relationships, focusing on securing major gifts and sustained funding. 

• Design, implement, and lead comprehensive donor cultivation and stewardship strategies, ensuring effective pipeline management and successful solicitation of significant contributions.

• Develop and execute sophisticated communication plans tailored to specific donor segments, ensuring compelling messaging and impact reporting.

Board and Strategic Council support (30%)

• Support good governance in Climate Catalyst - by developing the board workplan, organising meetings, securing inputs to these meetings, minute-taking, and ensure follow up on agreed actions (all with direction from the CEO)

• Drive and support pro-active engagement between Climate Catalyst senior staff and individual members of the Strategic Council, with direction from the CEO

• Drive and support pro-active and effective relationship management by the CEO with high-level partners and allies of Climate Catalyst, by planning, preparing and tracking engagement 

What You Would Bring

1. Experience in managing and supporting the governance functions of boards or similar high-level advisory bodies, demonstrating autonomy and initiative.

2. Demonstrated success in managing complex stakeholder relationships, including foundations, high-net-worth individuals, institutional funders, and senior advisors

3. Exceptional project management, organisational, and administrative skills with a proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities and complex workflows.

About the role

We’re looking for a Team Manager with extensive social work experience to manage our Sheffield Team. In this role, you’ll be supporting children and young people diagnosed with cancer by managing a team of social care staff who deliver services in line with our organisation’s service specifications.

You will be based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital where most of the team are based with one Social Worker based also at Weston Park Hospital. This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work both from home and from Sheffield Children’s Hospital, however, there is an expectation that the majority of time (2 out of 3 days minimum) you will be present at the hospital with the team, especially on Tuesdays as this is when the whole team is together.

About you

We are looking for a social work qualified experienced people manager to take responsibility for operational management and development of our social work services.

You will ensure that effective services are delivered to children and young people with cancer and their families through the professional supervision of our staff group, working across split sites.

You will have:

• You must hold an appropriate social work qualification.
• Extensive experience of working with children and young people including complex case work and risk assessment and care planning, caseload management and interagency working
• Experience of managing safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults, legislation, procedures and best practice
• Experience of supervising students and / or staff in a social care setting
• Experience of delivering support to young people and families via different mediums including individuals, groups and digital delivery.
• A proven ability to manage expectations of key stakeholders including staff and service users

About you

As the Service Manager for our night shelter service, you’ll be at the heart of Glass Door’s mission, delivering the largest network of night shelters in the UK.  This pivotal role offers you the chance to make a real difference by managing a dedicated team across multiple sites, ensuring high-quality, consistent service that supports our guests to build a route out of homelessness.  We’re looking for a dynamic, proactive leader with a passion for problem-solving and a compassionate service delivery.

What you will do as part of our team

The Service Manager is responsible for the following:

Service delivery 

· Lead all aspects of the planning, preparation, and delivery of the night shelter service. 

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, directly engaging with staff and guests to ensure high-quality service delivery. 

· Ensure operational policies are consistently followed, providing guests with a reliable and uniform service experience. 

· Manage the rota across three night shelters to maintain adequate staffing at all times. 

· Manage a fleet of three vehicles used for the night shelters, ensuring their availability and maintenance. 

· Ensure all staff are fully aware of service provisions, requirements, and expectations. 

· Lead the continuous improvement of the shelter service to better meet guest needs. 

· Ensure due diligence is performed, and that reporting and records are accurately maintained. 

· Collaborate with the Head of Operations & Service Development to keep expenditures and income within agreed budget limits. 

· Liaise with casework colleagues to ensure seamless collaboration between night shelter and casework staff. 

· Ensure the night shelters are aligned with other statutory and charity services to best meet the needs of our guests. 

· Conduct and maintain annual general and fire risk assessments for each shelter venue; actively maintain the service-level risk register and contribute to organisational risk register. 

· Promptly raise concerns and safeguarding issues in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

· Ensure policies and procedures are up-to-date with annual reviews, and provide staff with training and guidance on compliance and best practices. 

Management 

· Manage and supervise a seasonal staff team of approximately 40 individuals. 

· Oversee the full employee lifecycle management, including: recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management. 

· Lead the recruitment and training of seasonal shelter staff. 

· Provide high-quality support and line management to night shelter staff, delivering clear guidance, support, and effective leadership. 

· Ensure excellent performance management, support, and supervision of Night Shelter Managers and staff, including monitoring annual leave and addressing performance issues in line with Glass Door’s policies. 

· Empower seasonal managers to deliver high-quality, safe support and effective guest management in accordance with Glass Door policies and procedures. 

· Regularly monitor the quality of support and service by conducting site visits to the night shelters. 

· Organise and deliver a comprehensive training programme for shelter staff. 

· Facilitate regular supervision and team meetings to promote effective teamwork and communication. 

· Ensure the In-form system is utilised efficiently by shelter staff, with timely updates to reports, and prompt, accurate record-keeping. 

· Provide timely support, advice, and guidance to staff as needed. 

Service Development and Planning  

· Play a lead role in the annual planning of the night shelter service and contribute to the annual services business plan. 

· Drive the achievement of organisational targets and objectives as outlined in Glass Door’s business plan. 

Additional  

· Cultivate positive relationships with guests, staff, professionals, partners, suppliers, and the local community.

· To undertake any other duties that can be reasonably required to meet the operational needs of Glass Door.

· Carry out the functions of the post with proper regard to Glass Door’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

· Proven experience working with and understanding the needs of people experiencing homelessness or similar disadvantaged groups.

About the role:

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. As an adult caseworker you will:

• Ensure the delivery of excellent services to victims of crime through the direct provision of information and practical and emotional help from the point of crime, and onwards throughout the criminal justice process, where appropriate
• Ensure that the overall aim of helping people cope and recover from the effects of crime is achieved
• Act as a single point of contact, to undertake effective need and risk assessments of victims and their circumstances
• Coordinate the overall delivery of the cope and recovery plan and recovery journey, working closely with other service providers to meet the needs of victims to enable them to cope and recover from the impact of crime

You will need:

• Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
• Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or families
• Understanding and knowledge of an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities, inclusion and diversity
• Ability to work without direct supervision, prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner

Job Purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is a core and out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. Our aim of the service is to keep individuals well in the community and prevent readmission into hospital. The service operates 365 days a year from 14:00-22:00pm across all of our boroughs.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone or virtual on a one-to-one basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis or preventing crisis.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health and social crisis in HFEH.
• To proactively work with keeping people well in the community to reduce re-admitters into hospitals by working with WL NHS teams (e.g. discharge, LPS, CATT, MINT and SPA)
• To provide a true alternative to A&E via a non-clinical drop-in service to support clients
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation and crisis recovery planning.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis via a drop-in service.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual

The Role

The role of the team manager will be to support the rest of the team in delivering interventions on a one-to-one. The role will also involve triaging and assessing all clients accessing the service, signposting and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The role will also include line management and supervision of senior support workers and support workers within the service. Team managers are responsible for management of their site; including report writing, audits and being the named manager for the site and allocated borough following the borough-based approach. This role directly supports the service managers in keeping to a high standard service. The role will include implementing a smooth running of the service including facilitating debriefing and providing senior support onsite. The role of the team manager is non-clinical.

Job Title: Support Mentor (Nights)

Location: Latimer Road, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) - Short walking distance from Latimer Road underground station (Circle and Hammersmith and City Lines)

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a 6 week rolling rota which includes at least one day shift per week, weekends, and bank holidays. Hours can vary between 21:00 - 09:00 and 11:00 - 20:00

About the role

Our residents in this service have experienced long-term street homelessness and have faced significant challenges including with their mental health, substance use, and alcohol dependency, and struggled to sustain engagement with support services. That's why they're here, to make a change and gain the support they need to enable greater independence and recovery.

As a Support Mentor, you will work within a 24 hour service which provides person centred support to our residents, you will work to ensure safety and wellbeing of our residents. You will support mainly the night shifts to ensure the service runs smoothly at night, being a point of contact for residents, engaging with them to ensure their safety comes first, and running various evening activities for engagement. You will build trusting and professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through one to one sessions, group sessions, and general wellbeing check ins. During quieter hours, you will be responsible for ensuring administration is up to date, the service is kept clean and tidy, and will support with additional ad hoc tasks. 

About you

We're looking for someone who has a true passion for what we do as an organisation, and particularly in supporting those who have faced homelessness and may have other complex needs. Our residents needs are at the forefront of service delivery, so someone who can build trusting professional relationships is key.
