Islington SEMH Mental Health Service 

Barnardo's are recruiting an outreach community-based Clinician for our SEMH Service in the Islington Borough of London.

The post holder will provide 1:1 short term intervention (6-8 weeks as a standard) therapeutic interventions and support to CYP (8-18 years – 25 years with and SEND) living in Islington.

The post holder will oversee a case load of CYP and act as a contact with professionals and members of the CYP's network of support.

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Junior Developer to join our Technology and Solutions team at Prostate Cancer UK on a fixed term basis. 

As part of our Technology landscape, we have invested substantial amount of time and resources to benefit in robotic automation using a market leading new platform TOCA.IO. Our energetic IT team works at the forefront of automation, delivering solutions that streamline operations and enhance productivity.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the full development lifecycle projects You’ll work alongside our small internal IT team, reporting directly to the Solutions Manager and supported by a SQL Developer and Business Analyst, contributing to the design, development, testing, and deployment of IT systems. You’ll be developing and maintaining automation scripts and software applications.

In this role, you’ll support teams across the charity as the first point of contact for data development and analysis. It’s a great opportunity to see the difference we’re making as we’re striving for a world where no man dies from prostate cancer.

What we want from you

We're looking for a self-starter with a strong problem-solving mindset to join our team. This role requires working in a collaborative way with the development team to design and implement IT solutions using the right technology platform.

You'll have good understanding of SQL databases with some knowledge or hands-on experience of programming skills in languages such as Python, PHP.  With excellent communicating skills, able to explain technical information clearly and confidently to people who aren’t technical experts.

This role is ideal for individuals at the beginning of their IT careers who possess a foundational understanding of information technology and a strong desire to expand your knowledge and skills. You’ll already have some demonstrable skills gained through formal study, bootcamps, self-learning, or a corporate environment.

Who are we? 

Established in 2014, Beating Time is an award-winning charity operating across the UK, from two offices in London and Birmingham. We help people survive a prison sentence and thrive after release, ultimately to reduce their chances of reoffending. We run two continuous programmes: Choirs Beating Time, running weekly prison choirs and songwriting groups, and Inside Job, which uses a peer-led employment model to help people through release and into paid work. We have sung with thousands of people, directly supported 700+ people into employment, influenced policy and partnered with many high-profile organisations. 

The role

We’re hiring for an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated Fundraising and Communications Officer to join us in London (Woolwich) or Bimingham (Digbeth). You will need to be based near to one of those offices, we do a mixture of WHF and in office working.

Idealy, we’re looking for someone with an interest in the criminal justice system, strong knowledge of fundraising (particularly for small charities) and communications expertise. 

This role is an opportunity to shape how we present ourselves to funders and supporters and maintain long-term partnerships with them. You will play an active role in determining our future fundraising strategy while meeting the day-to-day demands of keeping a small charity afloat. You’ll contribute to our efforts to diversify income streams by securing support from corporates and other partners – this requires an ability to think creatively and strategically. 

An advantage of doing this work in a small team is you’ll be able to see the direct effect of your work on how we deliver Choirs Beating Time and Inside Job, often in practice during prison visits. You’ll work closely with senior management to stay on top of budgets and cashflow to inform your fundraising decisions and grow a culture of income awareness across the charity.

Communications play an important role in maintaining relationships with funders and stakeholders. We want to keep up a strong, involved presence on LinkedIn, while contributing to sector-wide advocacy, and boosting visibility through online and in-person events. An important part of our comms strategy is conveying our impact; you will also prepare regular impact reports for internal and external use. 

What we’re looking for

• Excellent writing and editing skills – your day-to-day tasks will involve writing grant applications and reports to new and existing funders (majority trusts and foundations). You will collate and write quarterly newsletters, circulated to funders, partner organisations, supporters and our employer network.
• Fundraising expertise – you will research and identify potential funders/corporate sponsorship to feed into the prospect pipeline. You will also develop and maintain a database to keep track of new/existing/past funders and monitor fundraising impact. 
• Strong organisational skills – previous experience working or volunteering with a small charity is a plus. You will often be working to deadlines and need to be able to plan ahead and organise your schedule accordingly. Your role as part of the central team will include taking minutes at weekly meetings, liaising with prisons and freelance musical directors, and actively reaching out to government and sector bodies where necessary. You’ll be able to multitask effectively and be highly organised with very strong attention to detail.
• Interest in the criminal justice system – we are active members of the criminal justice third sector, championing people with lived experience (especially within our own team). You may be asked to attend sector-wide events, participate in roundtables, and contribute to reports. 
• Solid knowledge of social media management – you will use Canva and other resources to design and post on our accounts, particularly LinkedIn. Posts might include internal updates (e.g. new hires, staff milestones), reactions to sector events (e.g. our response to the Sentencing Review), news about our employer partners, and beneficiary case studies.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. Reporting to the Head of Campaigns By You, you will create and manage campaigns, and use the platform to drive change in the UK, making our country fairer, more respectful and more sustainable.

The Campaigns By You platform is the part of 38 Degrees where the general public and partner organisations can use our free software to run campaigns on anything from saving their local community spaces to major national issues. This role is also central to helping 38 Degrees build a broad and representative movement of supporters, who regularly take action to create impact on the big issues of the day.

This job is for you if you’re passionate about making the country fairer, more respectful, and more sustainable – and if you have the skills and drive to run popular, timely, creative, impactful, people-powered campaigns to make it happen. We’re looking for a digital campaigns expert who is quick to react to the news of the day, who’s happy to pick up the phone and find the perfect case study, who’s able to manage partner relationships well and who’s able to translate complex issues into easily understandable language.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has a commitment to supporting empowerment through casework. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including cultural sensitivity and the ability to quickly build positive relationships and safely manage risk. You will work well as part of a small team, often under pressure and hold strong personal commitments to values of empowerment, respect and (striving for) social justice.

With the support of the CSS team, you will have responsibility for the coordination of casework support for all clients, and have an allocated caseload of clients with varying levels of support needs.

You will be supervising and supporting volunteers and the Caseworkers during two casework sessions a week. In addition, you will be working closely with the CSM to develop and transition our Casework service to an allocated caseworker model.

Flexible working hours will be considered around essential service delivery and meeting times.

Casework Service at ASSIST Sheffield

ASSIST Sheffield offers holistic support to over 50 people at a time that live in Sheffield and South Yorkshire and who have been refused asylum in the UK.  Our casework forms part of the wrap-around support we offer to our clients and is intended to complement our other services such as accommodation and limited financial support and is in line with ASSIST’s vision ‘for all people seeking asylum in Sheffield to live life with dignity and hope for the future’.

ASSIST is always seeking to develop better ways of working with clients, to get the best possible outcomes for their future. At the heart of this is our 3-stage journey of tailored support and guidance for clients throughout their time at ASSIST which has been co-designed by our service users: 

Stabilising - by providing short-term initial accommodation and financial payments, people experience safety and reduced risks around homelessness and poverty;

Planning for the future - through legal referrals, advice, signposting and long-term accommodation, people build resilience and confidence and see improvements in health and wellbeing;

Moving On - through providing support to re-engage with the asylum system and build social networks, people develop their knowledge, understanding and skills and thrive in the local community.

The Casework Coordinator role is key to enabling this transition to occur without compromising on client care.

We are a friendly and supportive team and service; working to do our bit to counter the hostile environment. Our Casework service embodies values of empowerment, respect and (striving for) social justice.

We want clients to be able to access casework support in order to address issues in a timely, supportive, informative and friendly manner.  Our focus is on connecting people to opportunities, knowledge and services so they are able to access these and resolve their issues as independently as possible. If people need support to access their rights and entitlements, we will be alongside them to advocate to the best of our ability, for the best outcome.

We operate casework sessions twice a week and we have direct contact with all ASSIST clients via our monthly Welfare Sessions; in which money, essential provisions and more light-touch casework support (issues that can be progressed within 15 minutes) are available to every client.

our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate to take on the role of Regional Operations Manager for our centres in South London (Walworth, Kennington and Brixton) along with our centres in Southampton and Brighton.

As a Regional Operations Manager you will line manage the Centre Leaders in your region to ensure that centres are working effectively, that the high quality of programme delivery to young people is maintained across the cluster, and that targets are monitored and met. 

And of course, you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them achieve their ambitions.

The role

You will be part of a small team that works collaboratively towards making a huge impact on the lives of the children and families we work with. We look for people who want to be part of a service that is innovative, creative and constantly striving to do better.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative Coordinator to support our Assessment and Therapy Service. This vital role ensures smooth operations by managing scheduling, case tracking, document management, and communication with families and professionals. You will be a key point of contact for up to 30 active cases and work closely with internal teams and external agencies to facilitate high-quality service delivery.

You will be involved in the development of the service and your views, and insights are encouraged.

· Schedule and coordinate internal meetings and therapy consultations

· Provide administrative support for allocated assessment and therapy cases

· Maintain and update electronic records (Charms, SharePoint)

· Proofread, format, and distribute clinical reports and correspondence

· Liaise with families, therapists, Local Authorities, and partner agencies

· Assist with service costing, funding proposals, and contract tracking

· Assist in service evaluations, complaints management, and internal reporting

You will have regular informal guidance and formal supervision on a monthly basis. You will be part of the wider service of Family Futures and attend monthly Team Days to learn, share and develop the service and your practice.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the smooth running of our flagship print and digital publications – including our scientific journals, relaunched member magazine and a wide range of guidance, resources and reports.

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative content team, working closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners including publishers, editors and contributors. From coordinating journal meetings and liaising with editorial boards, to proofing new content and preparing communications for members, no two days will be the same.

What you’ll do

• You’ll provide administrative, communications and editorial support across all our publishing activity, including:
• Leading the day-to-day administration of our scientific journals and supporting editors, publishers and board members.
• Coordinating key publishing schedules and meetings, following up actions and maintaining accurate records.
• Supporting the production and promotion of our member magazine, liaising with contributors and clinical advisors.
• Copy-editing and proofreading content, ensuring consistency with our house style and brand guidelines.

What you’ll need

• Experience in or knowledge of publishing or content production – whether in an academic, scientific or commercial environment.
• Strong copywriting, proofreading and editing skills, with excellent attention to detail across multiple formats.
• Confident communicator with the ability to work with editors, suppliers and internal teams with professionalism.
• Familiarity with web publishing, content management systems and, ideally, tools such as InDesign and databases for analysis or reporting.
• Organised and proactive, with experience juggling multiple priorities, coordinating meetings, and keeping projects on track.

Our client's survivor services provide a range of interventions that support the safety of women and children affected by domestic abuse. As Interim Service Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of the organisation's survivor services, taking responsibility for service planning, delivery, impact monitoring, budget management, quality assurance, and evaluation. You will oversee a team of frontline workers and volunteers and will work closely with your team to ensure that all those who have contact with the service are treated with dignity and that their specific individual needs are prioritised to improve their sense of wellbeing and safety.
