Co-produce and deliver a calendar of prison-wide health promotion activities. Organise pop-up health events (e.g., diabetes awareness, healthy eating). Team Leader (Mental Health) – Talking Spaces Service

Location: Birmingham

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £28,982 per annum

The Talking Space service operates from 1pm to 9pm four days a week throughout the year.

We operate one of our Talking Space services in the vibrant Jewellery Quarter, close to the city centre. Our Talking Space service provides a safe and welcoming environment for individuals aged 18+ living in Birmingham or Solihull who are experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis. We offer 1-to-1 appointments and drop-in support across four sites in the city (Selly Oak, Erdington, Jewellery Quarter, and Northfield). We actively listen and offer a range of referral and signposting options.

The service functions as an alternative to A&E as part of the urgent care pathway.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an empathetic and experienced leader to join our team and support the effective delivery of the Talking Space service, with a particular focus on young adults aged 18–25. You will develop engaging activities and groups that appeal to young people, helping them reach their full potential. With strong knowledge of mental wellbeing, you will work confidently within confidentiality frameworks and ensure accurate completion of all relevant documentation.

You will communicate in a style appropriate to your audience, demonstrating compassion and a non-judgmental approach toward individuals experiencing psychological distress. As Team Leader, you will provide support and supervision to the staff team, identify training needs, and complete annual appraisals. You will feel confident challenging discriminatory or disrespectful behaviour while maintaining high standards and ensuring the team upholds the same level of quality.

You may occasionally be required to work across all Talking Space sites.

We are also exploring opportunities to extend our service to support young people aged 16–18 soon.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of safeguarding practices, along with a positive attitude toward individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. You will have experience working with confidential, sensitive information in line with GDPR principles. 

A confident communicator, you will feel comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders and building strong relationships within the community.

You will be IT literate and able to ensure all documentation is accurately recorded on our bespoke systems. You will have proven experience in leading a team and supporting individuals to develop within their roles. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires working shift patterns—including evenings and weekends, within the service’s opening hours.

Head of Communications

The Head of Communications is a fundamental role within the Somerset Wildlife Trust.

The role is responsible for leading the development and coordinated delivery of the Trust’s communications in line with the Wilder Somerset 2030 strategy. This includes identifying key audiences, crafting core messages, and selecting effective communication channels to raise awareness and understanding of the Trust’s work. The postholder will support staff across the organisation in achieving the strategy’s aims while managing a team of specialists and responding to emerging issues professionally and astutely.

Working across teams, the Head of Communications will develop and deliver an annual communications plan that meets the organisation's priorities.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibility 1: Leadership & Cross Team Working

• Strategic Planning: Lead the development of the communications delivery plan and annual calendar, involving all areas of the Trust, defining key audiences, messages and channels with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding of the Trust. Provide effective leadership and build strong working relationships with departments across the charity to ensure integrated communications plans and campaigns are developed and implemented to achieve the maximum impact with external audiences.
• Communications Delivery Plan: Effective coordination of both messages and activity – both reactive and proactive throughout the year. Including improvements with revised website navigation and architecture, SEO improvements and content targeted at priority groups, including use of video, and influencers.
• Senior Leadership Team: Be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team taking collective responsibility for decision making, risk and budget management across the Trust. Work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure all communications effectively contribute to and support all strategic goals of the Trust.
• Brand Marketing: Work with teams to improve our products and services and how these meet the needs of our audiences, including working with focus groups (with co-creation when relevant).
• Building Capability: Coordinate providing support and training for all staff to achieve effective communications, which supports the Trust’s overall brand and positioning, including mentoring the communications team.
• Systems & Processes: Maintain and develop systems for gathering information and communications planning within the Trust and from project partners, RSWT and SWT. Embedding into all teams’ ways of working.

Responsibility 2: Communications Delivery

• Line Management: Manage, support and develop a team of staff and volunteers to deliver the communications work programme, providing effective line management. Including the provision of specialist support and advice for the development of specific communication campaigns or tools across the organisation.
• Budgets: Ensure communication activity elsewhere in the Trust is produced within allocated budgets and timeframes.
• Performance: Set and manage KPIs and budget for communications programmes, monitoring and reporting performance and reforecasting in line with Trust requirements. Continuous improvement.
• Brand: Develop the Trust’s brand, ensuring a clear and distinctive brand proposition and engaging brand identity, which also supports the Trust as part of the Wildlife Trusts movement. Ensure the brand’s consistent use and monitor the link with the Trust strategy and values.
• Public Affairs: Oversee the PR and media relations (press office function), and act as a key charity spokesperson when required. Horizon scanning and being aware of emerging issues to develop opportunistic messages to optimise nature recovery actions.
• Crisis Management: Protect the Trust's reputation by ensuring the effectiveness of robust crisis management plans and the definition of clear policies and position statements.
• Design, Content & Print: Coordinate the Annual Report with teams and Trustees. Editor for the members’ magazine and print products to support membership retention and enable action for nature.

Responsibility 3: Campaigns for Change

• Strategic Campaign Planning: Work with our policy, advocacy and engagement specialists to design campaigns that move people through the engagement funnel, change behaviour, influence policy, and improve supporter retention. Work with the Exec Team to set campaign objectives tied to clear outcomes: acquisition, activation, retention, behaviour change, policy influence, or income generation.
• Supporter Journeys & Segmentation: Map and optimise journeys across channels (email, web, social media, print, events) with named next steps that move people toward deeper engagement and action.
• Marketing Campaign Leadership: Own the strategic design of multi-channel marketing campaigns and provide clear briefs and creative direction to the delivery team. Ensure channel integration so website journeys, email, print content and social media activity are coordinated and measurable. Keep storytelling compelling while optimising for acquisition and action.
• Advocacy & Policy Campaigns: Work across teams to design campaigns to influence systems change by leveraging our data and evidence, combining public voice, stakeholder engagement and targeted advocacy tactics.
• Behaviour Change Campaigns: Work with our engagement specialists to apply social marketing techniques and behavioural frameworks to shift norms and the adoption of actions for nature. Translate data and evidence into interventions that use communication tactics such as prompts, social proof, incentives and nudges to create measurable behaviour change.

Life is a UK charity for vulnerable women and families facing unexpected pregnancy or pregnancy loss. About the Service

Community Outreach Workers supports people with complex needs who have mental health as a primary need. This includes people who may have drug and alcohol difficulties. Particularly when they are coming into repeat contact with Police, Tenancy Sustainment Services, Housing and Homelessness Services and Environmental Health Services.

The service will be delivered in across Hertfordshire county, and also includes Amersham and Chesham.

Referrals will come from Paradigm Housing Association and will be for their tenants who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker role is to:

• Provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties and mental ill-health. These will be clients who are presenting to the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour, Tenancy Enforcement, Housing and Environmental Health Services across the county.
• Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• Remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• Raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.
• Complete reporting requirements.

We are looking for Bank Supported Housing Support Workers to join our . Gareth Stacey House and Lansworth House are our 24-hour supported housing services in central Brighton and Hove offering high levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25. The services have up to 20 bedspaces, with shared communal facilities; the services support young people to manage their daily living activities in areas including finances and budgeting, developing life and work skills, and managing self-care.

We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and support residents into independent accommodation. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building

Our Bank Support Worker roles are similar to our Support Workers roles, but they work on a more flexible, temporary basis – they are great way into the organisation and can be a stepping stone into other roles. 

In this rewarding role you will work proactively and creatively alongside young people providing support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the services by providing consistency and reliability.

You will ideally have experience of working with a similar client group and a good understanding of the key risks, challenges and opportunities for young people.
