Role Summary:
We are looking for a highly-skilled Philanthropy Manager to create impact through building and growing our high-value donor programme. You will effectively manage a portfolio of high-capacity individual donors and prospects, with the goal of securing five- and six-figure gifts and will proactively engage donors and prospects through strategic outreach, personalized stewardship, and compelling solicitations. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced, vision-driven environment.
This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity starting as soon as possible. Ability to travel, when necessary, for donor visits and organizational events is required.
Reports To: UK Fundraising Director
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of approximately 130 mid-level and major donors and prospects with the capacity to make 5- and low 6-figure annual gifts (bigger gifts would fall to UK Fundraising Director)
- Effectively complete the moves management process and engage a portfolio of donors through meaningful connections including phone calls, personalized emails and mailings, face-to-face meetings, and other communications.
- Create a plan for each donor to serve as the annual engagement plan, effectively and, in a timely manner, execute that plan to retain and upgrade donors, and document all activities in Moves Management and/or Tasks in the database.
- Prepare and personalize correspondence and fundraising materials, including donor stewardship and impact reports, funding proposals, briefing memos, and acknowledgment letters as appropriate.
- Provide recommendations and assist in executing effective strategies to practice moves management and increase fundraising results.
- Assist the UK Director with developing projects that will enhance the philanthropy programme of the Development Department and support developing strategy briefs and leading preparation meetings.
- Help produce cultivation and stewardship programs for prospects and mid-level and major donors.
- Organise events for major donors and prospects.
- Complete research on major donors and prospects within data compliance requirements.
- Complete administrative tasks for the philanthropy programme.
- Other duties as appropriate for this role.

Required Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience with exposure to major gift donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship processes preferred.
- A proven history of generating income in the £100,000’s and securing gifts of £25,000 or more.
- Demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships and in coordinating with senior management and program staff to execute donor engagement strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with both management and donors.
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Able to take ownership of a process and to use problem solving skills to resolve issues.
- Able to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
- Able to function both independently and as part of a global team.
- Familiar with the MS Office and donor management systems. Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, although an equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for this required level of education.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced governance professional to join our Governance Team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply and expand your skills in an organisation with a rich and multifaceted governance structure, as both a charity and a membership body. You will join a small, supportive team that works closely with the President and Officers, Board of Trustees, Council, CEO, the Executive Team, and the College’s boards and committees.
Following a significant governance review and the introduction of an updated Charter, Ordinances and Regulations in 2023, this is an exciting time to play a central role in strengthening our governance frameworks.
As Governance Manager, you will deliver high‑quality, professional and compliant governance services across the College, ensuring we meet our statutory duties and apply best practice consistently.
You will work collaboratively with a second Governance Manager, sharing duties equitably and flexibly. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing an in‑depth understanding of the College’s governing documents, procedures and working practices, and advising Officers and colleagues on governance matters.
- Supporting the review and continual improvement of governance processes, procedures and policies.
- Providing comprehensive business support to the Board of Trustees, Council and Audit Committee, including agenda planning, preparation of papers and briefings, coordinating presentations, scheduling the cycle of business, and producing accurate minutes.

- Leading on the development and ongoing maintenance of a governance cycle of business, including an annual meetings calendar that meets strategic and operational requirements.

What You’ll Bring

MAIN DUTIES
Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with new and existing supporters through personalised engagement strategies informed by the Head of Development
- Represent the School at meetings, events, presentations and functions to cultivate connections with prospective donors
- Collaborate with senior leadership and the Donor Relations Team to ensure high-level donors are onboarded seamlessly and receive tailored stewardship and recognition.
Strategic Fundraising Planning
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new major donors, aligning with the School’s fundraising priorities for UK in-year activity, as well as USA and Asia development
- Work with senior leadership to set fundraising targets, track progress, and report on performance across each giving level prioritising annual donations of £50k+ per annum.
Proposal Preparation
- Collaborate with content, communications and marketing team colleagues to create compelling materials that articulate the School’s mission and strategic priorities
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to engage, cultivate and convert prospective supporters.
Prospect Research and Identification
- Maintain and update the active prospects pipeline, ensuring all opportunities are tracked and appropriately prioritized with touchpoints and assigned relationship leads
- Contribute to the invitations tracker to ensure all prospects are engaged with in a systemised and relevant way according to location, interest, propensity to give.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Analysis
- Maintain accurate records of donor engagement and interactions in the CRM system improving and refining systems and processes as part of a growing department
- Monitor progress against fundraising targets, providing regular reports and insights to senior leadership on pipeline value from identification to stewardship stages
- Analyse donor trends, sector insights and curate feedback to refine engagement strategies.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with colleagues across Development and the Senior Leadership Team as well as Artistic and Academic staff to refine the propositions and align fundraising priorities

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in donor cultivation and relationship management - Demonstrated success in building and sustaining 5 and 6 figure annual relationships with major donors and key stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills - Capacity to manage multiple donor relationships, events/projects, and fundraising initiatives simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic office environment.
- Strong strategic fundraising expertise - Ability to design, implement, and evaluate fundraising strategies that align with institutional priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Skilled at engaging and influencing diverse audiences through persuasive written and verbal communication, including at senior levels.
- Proficiency in proposal and campaign development - Experience preparing compelling fundraising proposals, campaign materials, and event strategies that inspire donor support.

Job Title: Head of Major Giving - Trusts & Foundations and Individual Donors
Reporting to: Director of Fundraising and Development
Location of work: Home based. The post holder will be expected to travel to meet donors, travel to away days and team meetings in London. The role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland. Expenses will be paid in line with our Travel and Expenses policy.

We are looking for a natural relationship-builder with a proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to inspire donors, colleagues, and external stakeholders alike. Based in the region the Caribbean UKOTs Programme Manager will work closely with regional management teams and our excellent external partners to develop and oversee a pipeline of high impact conservation projects across the Caribbean UKOTs.
What's the role about?
In a time of constrained funding the primary responsibilities for this role include a significant focus on helping to identify and develop fundraising opportunities, supporting our various partners to build their own organisational fundraising capacity, and working to secure financing to deliver against a range of national and regional environmental priorities.
The Programme Manager will in addition lead and oversee several Caribbean-based RSPB project managers to ensure successful delivery of projects within the region and ensure that these contribute to impactful outcomes for species and habitats and delivery of the Strategic Outcomes of both the RSPB and our partners.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of Caribbean conservation issues, species and habitats.

- Experience in cost and budget management, with a track record of working with complex financial systems, developing and managing budgets, overseeing financial reporting of partners and direct reporting for diverse funding streams.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Knowledge of relevant environmental management activities such as habitat creation and/or restoration, biosecurity and eradication, species recovery.
- A good technical background on island and species conservation.
- Direct experience using MS Project, or similar project management software packages and fundraising databases (e.g. Raisers Edge, Care or Salesforce).

- This is a Permanent role for 37.5 hours per week.
- The role is Caribbean based and only open to those with existing rights to live and work in the region. The position is home based with frequent travel to support partners across the Caribbean UKOTs.

Borders Forest Trust (BFT) is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Since 1996, they have been working towards planting trees, restoring peatlands and other natural habitats, enriching the biological diversity of around 31 sq km in the Southern Uplands. Fundraising to date at BFT has seen success, but it has been responsive and ad-hoc as opposed to planned according to strategic need. Worcester College is recruiting for the key, senior role of Engagement Manager to be part of its Development and Alumni Relations team of seven. This is a vital role as we seek to deepen and expand connections with the College’s donor and alumni community. The Engagement Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of an engagement strategy which aims to build relationships with alumni and donors to lead to greater involvement with the College through the giving of funds, time and expertise, to give donors a strong sense of the positive impact of their generosity, and to bring potential major donors closer to the areas of College life that require financial support.
At Worcester we have worked extremely hard to foster deeper engagement with alumni and feedback from our community has been very positive. We are seeking a team member who can bring rigour and focus in order to build on this strong foundation, bringing a proven track record in strategic thinking, effective relationship building, strong attention to quality and detail and project management skills. The role is varied and would suit someone who understands the value to the fundraising programme of creating meaningful connections, with the drive and creativity to deliver an innovative and successful engagement programme. The role gives the opportunity to build on relationship fundraising knowledge and experience through working personally with a portfolio of donors to develop relationships and grow their philanthropic giving to the College.
