We’re part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, a national youth organisation empowering 12- to 20-year-olds through flying, adventure training, sports, and leadership development.

West Mercian Wing supports over 900 cadets across 27 squadrons in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire, the Black Country, and Cyprus. Each squadron is supported by a committee of trustees who oversee governance, fundraising, and community engagement, helping ensure incredible opportunities for young people.

What’s involved

Being a trustee is a simple but highly impactful way to support your local squadron:

• Attend quarterly meetings (around two hours each)
• Discuss finances, fundraising, priorities, and squadron activities
• Take part in decisions, especially financial and strategic matters
• Support events, networking, or community initiatives

Typical commitment: 8-12 hours per year.

Who we’re looking for

Trustees come from all walks of life. No military, youth work, or charity experience is required. Trustees actively participate in meetings and decisions – there’s no obligation to take on an elected role.

Eligibility:

• Must be 20 years or older.
• Must have lived in the UK for 3 or more years.

Useful skills (optional but welcomed):

• Finance, budgeting, or business management
• Fundraising or grant writing
• Event planning or project management
• Governance, committee, or leadership experience
• Local networks or community connections

We particularly welcome:

• Applicants from under-represented communities.

Migrateful is looking for new Trustees to help guide our next chapter! Migrateful runs cookery classes in London and Bristol led by refugees and migrants to support them on their journey to integration & employment.
 

Trustees play a vital role in setting strategic direction, strengthening governance and acting as critical friends to the executive team, ensuring Migrateful continues to deliver high quality, impactful work in line with its charitable purpose.

We are currently looking for a trustee with financial qualifications and experience, ideally including charity finance and fundraising, who will support the Finance and Risk Subcommittee. This includes overseeing budgets, monitoring financial performance, reviewing financial and operational risks, and providing assurance on internal control systems to support financial decision-making.

Trustees will play a pivotal role in ensuring Migrateful can continue to grow and deliver meaningful impact for migrant and refugee communities. They will help support the continued expansion of our cookery class programme, which provides vital training, employment and integration opportunities and a platform for migrant-led cultural exchange.

We are looking for a friendly, patient, female volunteer to befriend a lovely lady in Maidenhead. On cosy days in, she loves to have a chat, listen to music, paint her nails or a do a jigsaw puzzle. When feeling up to it, she would love to be taken in her wheelchair to her favourite treat, McDonalds.

She takes a little while to warm up to new people, so can sometimes display behaviours which may come across as challenging, such as making short, sharp noises. It would be great if her new volunteer has some experience with this or is someone who isn’t fazed easily. It’s important to know that her care team would always be a helping hand away, and that her not-so-secret kryptonite is chocolate!

Please note this person’s residence have a pet cat.

We offer a lifelong befriending service for adults with learning disabilities. Matching the skills and interests of passionate visitors with the specific hobbies and interests of the people we visit. Visitors visit six times a year to create a 1-2-1 connection, offer companionship, encourage people to do the things they enjoy and check-in on their wellbeing. In many cases, the visitor is the only person in someone’s life who isn’t paid to be there for them.

This is a Stop and stay, let’s get busy visitor role which means the person you will be visiting can communicate actively with you and take part in choosing or planning activities.  As you get to know each our you may choose to ‘go out’ either with or without support from the staff that supports the person you visit.  Your volunteer manager will be happy to help you with ideas and suggestions for things you can do. Visits will vary in length but tends to be around an hour or longer, depending on what you do.

In this role you will spend quality time with the person you visit and could do a range of different activities like:

• Sitting and having a chat

• Checking in on their well- being

• Going out to a local café/pub for a meal/drink

• Enjoying a walk

• A craft activity at home

• Reading a book/magazine together

What You’ll Do

As our Health & Wellbeing Programme Manager, you will:

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of wellbeing workshops and group sessions

• Support volunteers delivering sessions on resilience, stress management, confidence, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and healthy routines

• Ensure all wellbeing activities reflect our trauma‑informed, person‑centred values

• Develop simple, accessible session plans, resources, and tools to support consistent, high‑quality delivery

• Work closely with the Volunteer Programme Manager and Head of Service Delivery to schedule sessions and match volunteers to roles

• Build supportive relationships with participants, helping them feel safe, welcomed, and empowered

We are a 100% volunteer‑led organisation supporting adults aged 18–67 who face barriers to employment, education, confidence, and wellbeing. Our programmes are trauma‑informed, community‑based, and rooted in human connection.

What You’ll Do

As our Head of People, Culture & Talent, you will:

• Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training and support of all volunteers.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for everyone who joins us.

• Build HR, training and development and safeguarding systems that reflect our values of care and dignity.

• Support volunteers across employability, wellbeing, digital skills, mentoring, and operations.

• Shape the culture of a new movement designed to empower adults across East London.

This is a leadership role where your work will directly influence the quality, safety, and heart of our programmes.

About the organisation:
Diaspora Woman is a social and cultural organisation dedicated to promoting the empowerment, visibility, and leadership of migrant, Afro-descendant, and Spanish-speaking women in the UK and internationally.

We generate vital spaces for training, connection, and participation for women and families who are survivors of conflict and gender-based violence, as well as Afro-Latin communities and individuals of diverse backgrounds and identities. We drive social change through community organising, education, art, and comprehensive support.

About the Role: 
We are seeking a proactive and committed Volunteer Administrative Assistant to help strengthen our internal structure and increase our impact. This role is crucial for ensuring our data, records, and institutional memory are well-organised, allowing us to focus on our core mission.

Key Functions will include:

• Database Management: Organise and update the database of attendees and participants for training and events.
• Funding Records: Create and maintain a database of potential funding entities.
• Archiving & Digitisation: Systematically classify and digitise our institutional photographic and documentary archives.
• Institutional Memory: Support the overall systematisation and documentation of institutional and project memory.

Your Commitment:

• Hours: 6 to 8 hours per week (flexible).
• Duration: 3 months (with the possibility of extension).
• Location: Hybrid (Remote work + online follow-up meetings every 15 days).
• Supervision: You will be supervised by the Diaspra Woman Coordinator.
• Please note, volunteers will occasionally be required to attend in-person events in London (approximately once every two months), depending on our yearly program schedule.

Essential Requirements:

• Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent spoken and written Spanish and English is required.
• Commitment: Interest in migration, gender equity, culture, and sustainability issues.
• Skills: Strong abilities in organisation, communication, and administrative/social management.
• Work Style: Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in diverse environments.
• Availability: Must be able to commit to 6-8 hours per week.

We are a 100% volunteer‑led organisation supporting adults aged 18–67 who face challenges around employment, education, wellbeing, and digital inclusion. Our programmes are trauma‑informed, community‑based, and rooted in human connection.

If you believe everyone deserves the chance to rebuild confidence, learn new skills, and move forward — this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

As our Employability Programme Manager, you will:

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of our employability workshops and 1:1 support

• Support volunteers delivering CV sessions, interview prep, job search guidance, and workplace skills

• Ensure all employability activities reflect our trauma‑informed, person‑centred values

• Develop session plans, resources, and simple tools to support consistent, high‑quality delivery

• Work closely with the Volunteer Programme Manager and Head of Service Delivery to schedule sessions and match volunteers to roles

• Build relationships with participants, helping them feel welcomed, supported, and motivated

• Track attendance, progress, and outcomes to support our monitoring and evaluation

• Gather feedback from volunteers and participants to continuously improve the programme

This is a leadership role where your work will directly shape the confidence, skills, and job readiness of adults across East London.
