About this exciting opportunity
As Grants and Bids Manager, you will manage statutory funding applications of five, six and seven figure multi-year income compliant with commissioner/funder requirements and oversee the project management of applications – managing timelines, activities, delegating tasks and ensuring stakeholders meet them, support decision-making through providing relevant and informed advice and producing high quality funding proposals and applications.
We will also rely on you to plan and chair proposal development meetings with key internal stakeholders, to identify and successfully bring in new funding opportunities that align with our strategic objectives, and to provide the highest level of donor care and manage involvement of new funders to ensure that the giving potential of each individual funding body is maximised. Updating the Fundraising Management Team with strategic developments in funding opportunities and supporting the Statutory Fundraising Team with other tasks, including their funding applications and proposals, are also vital elements of the role.

The Role

Q:alliance provides support, information and representation for the LGBTQ+ people who live, work and play in Milton Keynes and Bedford. We have detailed knowledge of the issues and challenges that organisations and individuals face locally. It’s our goal to create more safe spaces and resources to ensure the LGBTQ+ community is well represented and supported.
This exciting new role will help deliver the directives of a history and heritage project funded by the Heritage Lottery. The project will support the erudition of LGBTQ+ heritage in Milton Keynes, advancing local communities’ understanding of Milton Keynes’ LGBTQ+ history and inspiring a commitment to encapsulating, celebrating, and feeling connected through shared heritage. This post will be key to extending our reach into seldom asked communities, as well as securing relationships with founding community members. This role will support our Communications and Engagement Manager to develop safer spaces for LGBTQ+ local communities through collaboration with partner agencies and delivery of LGBTQ+ cultural competency training to a range of stakeholders involved in the wider project.
You will work cross-departmentally and participate in effective monitoring systems to ensure robust reporting.
Main Responsibilities
• Project Development - Develop and implement the directives of the funded project, supporting key partners in their collaboration with Q:alliance. Communicate project aims with communities and stakeholders and establish meaningful engagement in the concept of encapsulating heritage and celebrating differing LGBTQ+ identities in Milton Keynes. Support the gathering of audio histories and the collection and succession of community artefacts through the archive. Evaluate and analyse impact.
• E-book creation – Support the Communications and Engagement Manager on the development of an E-book to capture the outputs of the project, including key heritage findings and personal stories.
• Event coordination – Plan, organise and support the delivery of history clubs in line with the project plan, ensuring accessibility for a wide range of invested community members. Support the curation of associated exhibition events.
• Stakeholder and community engagement – Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to plan engagement and outreach activities in line with the directives of the funded project. Forge and support enduring relationships with key partners, strengthening our commitment to building an alliance of cross-sector compassionate advocates for the LGBTQ+ community in its diverse forms.
• Training – Support the development and delivery of LGBTQ+ cultural competency training to a range of stakeholders involved in the project.
• Data capture and intelligence - Support Q:alliance’s commitment to sustaining a contemporary data and monitoring mechanism, guaranteeing we can deliver thorough evaluations of our services and competent feedback to our funders and stakeholders on the efficacy of our work.

The Food bank Campaign Coordinator is responsible for delivering Trussell Trust’s influencing and mobilising work, in their target area, during the General Election. You will do this by building strong relationships with other food banks in your Parliamentary constituency areas of Rhondda and Ogmore, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan. Campaign Coordinators implement Trussell Trust’s national General Election strategy, by using organising techniques to put pressure on PPC’s in each Parliamentary constituency.
You will build and lead local community teams who support ending the need for foodbanks, securing commitments from your PPC’s to ‘prioritise the problem of people going without essentials if re/elected, acknowledging the role social security needs to play in tackling it.’
This role is funded by the Trussell Trust as part of their General Election strategy, and you will be part of a network of Campaign Coordinators around the UK doing this work. You will be the link between your food bank(s) and the Mobilisation team at Trussell Trust, as we build a movement to end the need for food banks.
Responsibilities of Campaign Coordinator:
· To build trusted relationships with food banks during (pre and post) UK General Election. You will hold 1:1 conversations with each food bank in your allocated area and ensure there is clear communication between the food banks.
· To support teams of community volunteers. You will have 1:1s with: food bank staff, volunteers, interested individuals, partner organisations and stakeholders in each community to develop community bases for your campaign work.
· To lead effective door-knocking teams in your community. You will door knock with your community campaign team to drum up support for the campaign, provide members of the public literature on Food bank use in their local community, and invite people to their local hustings.
· To help each of your community campaign teams organise a local husting. You will ensure that your community campaign teams: attend national Trussell Trust webinars, receive national guidance on how to approach PPC’s, understand the Trussell Trust legal GE guidance, understand the logistics of organising a hustings, ensure that the husting is accessible as possible and ensure that the voices of people with lived experience are heard through the hustings.
· To develop good relationships with local press and media outlets. You will work alongside national Trussell Truststaff to find key press and media contacts in your assigned area, ensuring your community campaign teams get coverage for their hard work.
· To deliver the local campaigning strategy working with food bank staff, volunteers and clients.
· To work with the Organising and Local Mobilisation team in Trussell Trust and engage with the training and support on offer, including work with other Campaign Coordinators in the Trussell Trust network.

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to be working with a fabulous social welfare charity as they search for a Marketing Officer to support them for a 6-month FTC.
As the Marketing Officer, you'll assist the Campaigns and Communications Manager in crafting and executing marketing plans across digital and offline channels. Collaborate with internal teams to effectively communicate with external audiences, delivering impactful campaigns and digital marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Brand and Communications team in planning, delivering, and analysing marketing activities and campaigns across various channels, including social media, email marketing, paid search, and other digital and offline platforms.
- Act as the Brand custodian, ensuring consistent application of brand guidelines across all content and campaigns, and assisting colleagues in understanding and implementing these guidelines.
- Create engaging online and offline content, including photography, video, copywriting, and design, collaborating with external freelancers and agencies as needed.
- Manage social media and email calendars, maintaining up-to-date content planners for weekly planning meetings and ensuring a balanced mix of topics and calls to action.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of The organisation social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and responding to comments and messages.
- Implement organic and paid social media campaigns with clear objectives and maintain consistent and compelling brand representation across all marketing materials and communications.
Person Specification:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Trello, and other collaborative tools.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other content creation applications.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok, with a willingness to learn new platforms.
- Strong copywriting skills adaptable to various audiences.
- Experience in reporting and evaluating communications or marketing activities using in-platform reporting and Google Analytics.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, Mailchimp, or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Experience in delivering marketing and communications plans across social media, email marketing, and web channels.
- Ability to create original content and curate content for owned and third-party channels.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships across multiple teams and collaborate effectively to solve problems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in various styles and formats.
- Confidence to offer insights, expertise, and support to colleagues and provide regular feedback to supervisors.
- Commitment to creating a positive working environment that upholds equality and diversity.
- Strong time management and organisation skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.

The Talent Set are delighted to be working with Turn2us to recruit their Head of Brand & Communications.
The charity offers a flexible working environment, with hybrid working from their London office.
The Head of Brand and Communications is responsible for developing and delivering Turn2us’ branding and external communications strategy, including media relations, social media, content marketing and work with influencers.
The team will focus on insight, targeted campaigns, audience development, the amplification of the voices of those for whom Turnus exists and raising the profile of the charity and its work. The work will be collaborative with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- As brand guardian ensure that the brand’s values, messaging and visual identity are consistently represented across all touchpoints and throughout the organisation, including maintaining high standards of quality for all branded materials and manage the use of all communications suppliers for Turn2us.
- Lead the organisation’s accumulation of insights about stakeholders' experiences of Turn2us and lead the charity’s continued development of the brand’s articulation.
- Support internal stakeholders, including Elizabeth Finn Homes, partners, and funders on the brand’s values, identity, and guidelines through training, inductions and up-to-date brand guidelines.
- Collaboratively develop Turn2us’ marketing and communications strategy and develop an annual calendar of activity in harmony with our work, vision, purpose, values and strategy.
- Develop and manage our traditional and social media presence as well as developing profile through collaboration with key influencers, editors and journalists.
- In partnership with the Head of Supporter Engagement and the Head of Policy and Influence, plan and execute content marketing campaigns, including creating and distributing digital content including blog posts, articles, videos and infographics.
- Plan and lead the delivery of key publications and events including the Annual Report and stakeholder engagement events.
- Define, develop and implement national campaigns aimed at key poverty issues in order to raise awareness of the charity’s services.
- Work in coalition with a range of stakeholders to drive greater impact for awareness and understanding of key issues for people facing financial insecurity.
- Provide inspiring leadership and support to the Communications team, creating a high performing culture to ensure the successful delivery of department and organisational objectives.
Person Specification:
- Background and professional experience in Media, Digital & MarComms.
- Experience of setting strategy, managing, and creating budgets, and regular reporting outcomes against KPIs.
- Experience of developing creative content campaigns across multiple channels to drive engagement and social change.
- Proven experience of leading, managing, and retaining a team of exceptional talent as well as creating a culture of innovation and a commitment to achieving results.
