You will be joining our expanding and dynamic team, with the freedom to work creatively with a committed group of volunteers and staff to support people who experience mental ill health in Bristol.
We need someone who is passionate about our mission and who shares our values to increase awareness through marketing and communications, expanding our social media and website content and linking with local networks in order to support fundraising efforts. You will have a high level of autonomy and be given the opportunity to develop new ideas in this exciting field, in a role that is varied and flexible.

Experience working as an Administrator is essential. You’ll need to be proactive and adaptable, with excellent communication, administration, finance and minute taking skills and experience, along with experience of completing contract management data reports.
As an Administrator your role will include:
- Dealing promptly with the issuing and payment of invoices.
- Liaising with all Head Office departments, particularly Finance, as required to ensure the payment of invoices.
- Obtaining quotations from suppliers and making purchases based on a value for money structure.
- Answering and responding to all initial enquiries from outside agencies or prospective service users.
- Providing telephone reception and maintaining and updating all service information resources.
- Co-ordinating the taking and passing on of internal and external messages and assisting in the preparation of written reports, having due regard for confidentiality.
- Providing typing and word processing support for the staff team as necessary and taking and distributing minutes of meetings as required.
- Attending staff meetings, staff support groups and service meetings.

This is a permanent role requiring the post-holder to work 37.5 hours per week.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. From 1st June 2024 Richmond Fellowship will be merging with the mental health charity Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. Our background:
Parents 1st UK is dedicated to enabling quality peer support to flourish during pregnancy, birth and beyond. The evidence is clear - effective and sustainable peer support nurtures the emotional wellbeing of mothers, fathers, partners, and babies, and builds strengths in communities. We work both locally and nationally to achieve this aim.
Our national work: Through an ‘open source’ online community platform, we provide all the resources necessary to set up a perinatal peer support initiative. Freely sharing all the tools that our local programme (Parents 1st Essex) uses in daily practice, from budget setting to volunteer training guides and impact tracking. Working with commissioners and providers, Parents 1st UK also provides consultancy and workshops to help build new perinatal peer support initiatives in communities.
Our local work: Parents 1st Essex currently operates in South and North Essex, delivering perinatal peer support to parents, through 1-1 or group support. Peer supporters engage and develop trusting relationships with parents during pregnancy, continue support through birth and the first few months afterwards.
Alongside this, Parents 1st UK also leads the Essex Peer to Parent Network, a peer support collaborative that aims to develop a hub of good practice across Essex. The Peer to Parent Network employs 4 Peer Support Link Workers who work alongside the local maternity units in Essex, helping parents to access peer support during pregnancy or anytime during the first year after birth.

The role:
As the CEO of Parents 1st UK, you will play a pivotal role in restructuring the organisation following a merger with an associated charity during 2023. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering unity, creating operational resilience, and guiding the organisation towards sustained success in delivering vital services to parents, families and our partners.

We specialise in effective volunteering and peer support during the key life change of pregnancy, birth and becoming a parent.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. This exciting role will also involve driving and promoting the work and visibility of the GAL, and planning and delivering a programme of events to promote our work.
This is an exciting time to join the organisation. We are a growing team, and with momentum building to address gambling-related harms, our work has never been so vital. In this position, you will play an important role in helping us to further understand the links between money, mental health problems and gambling harms and work with firms and stakeholders to develop practical solutions that lead to real change.
The full-time equivalent salary is either £41,283 at the Senior Officer level or £32,915 at the Officer level.
This role can be offered as London-based or remote (with twice-monthly travel to the London office) and either full-time (37.5 hours over 5 days) or part-time (minimum 30 hours over 4 days a week).
