About the Role and the Service

This is an exciting opportunity to join us at the heart of a brand new service in Milton Keynes as a Carers Wellbeing Navigator — a role for someone who’s passionate about empowering unpaid carers and shaping real change.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-agency ‘hub’ approach, working in partnership with expert local service providers, offering a “no wrong door” for unpaid carers in Milton Keynes who are seeking support.

In this dynamic position, you’ll provide personalised, specialist support to carers of people living with mental health challenges and/or addictions.

Whether meeting carers in person or over the phone you will explore their needs, co-create support plans, and guide them towards the right information, resources, and services.

Beyond direct support, you’ll also help to raise the profile of unpaid carers across the city, getting involved in community celebrations, awareness campaigns, and events like National Carers Week, ensuring carers’ voices are heard and valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a service and ensure outcomes which supports unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions, in line with the service delivery model, contractual requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
• Promote and raise awareness of this service across Milton Keynes including building relationships with referral organisations, VSCE and statutory services and the wider community.
• Build effective collaborative relationships with other hub partners and attend partner meetings when required.
• Support with effective referral routes in to and out of the service which break down any access barriers.
• Contribute to the development and review of service delivery.
• Effectively manage and process referrals into the service and prioritise a caseload of unpaid carers that ensures timely and effective support in line with the service delivery model.
• Carry out an initial assessment of individual support needs, priorities and risk, in line with the Access to Service procedure and processes.
• Enable individuals to explore the situation that is affecting their mental health and wellbeing and work with them to co-produce a personalised support plan to help address their immediate needs.
• Offer focused support with the aim of building knowledge, skills, confidence, independence and resilience.
• Signpost, and support to access, other relevant organisations and the wider community offer to address wider issues affecting their mental health.
• Share personalised information and advice about each unique circumstance and provide resources to support the carers mental health and wellbeing.
• Develop and facilitate peer support groups for unpaid carers who are caring for someone experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or additions

Special Events

Logistics Team Leader

Reports to: Logistics Manager 

Location: Hybrid working (home base with travel). Successful candidate must live within a 40 mile radius of Reading

Direct Reports: Average of 15-20 Drivers 

Purpose of the Role:

To lead, support and coordinate a team of drivers who operate remotely, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant movement of stock between retail shops, depots and other collection points. The Team Leader ensures high standards of vehicle maintenance, driver performance, and welfare, while maintaining operational efficiency and customer service standards. 

Key Responsibilities :

Operational Management 

Full line manager responsibilities for all drivers within designated Team 

Manage workloads and provide full support to both employed and Agency Drivers 

• Check plans, coordinate and monitor daily vehicle routes and schedules to ensure timely collections and deliveries between locations.
  • Ensure drivers follow established logistics procedures and comply with all company transport policies.
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., punctuality, mileage, delivery accuracy).

The Development Manager will be a dynamic and experienced fundraiser with strong technical skills in grant and funding solicitation, management and stewardship across Crisis Action’s current donor targets including major foundations, governments, and High Net Wealth Individuals (HNWI). They will serve as the anchor of a newly configured fundraising team designed to support Crisis Action to nurture its existing donors and secure the next generation of support for its ground-breaking work.

This role is pivotal in ensuring excellence in our outreach, proposals, reporting and communication to drive resource mobilisation that is essential for the organisation’s financial sustainability at a time when our distinct model and way of working is needed more than ever.

Principal responsibilities

Donor engagement and communications 

• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement with current and prospective foundation, government and individual donors by members of the Crisis Action team
• Represent the organisation vis-à-vis donor representatives 
• Support HNWI donor benefits structure and cultivation plans
• Prepare compelling and timely donor reports, donor updates, letters of receipt and other outreach materials in collaboration with finance and campaign teams.

Grant management and oversight

Job Specifications 

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, or development within the non-profit or international advocacy sector
• A proven track record of engaging with foundations and government officials to secure and manage grants
• Demonstrated ability to forge new donor partnerships, and a track record of bringing in new revenue
• Strong understanding of government and foundation funding landscapes with at least some familiarity with differences between them and the stewardship of major gifts from individual giving

Salary: We have set bands for the salary range for all positions at Crisis Action. The baseline of our salary range for this position is £40K per annum.

This is a pivotal role for an experienced Communications and PR professional to significantly enhance the visibility and understanding of the Motability Foundation's vital work. You will have a great news sense and the ability to develop strong relationships with journalists to confidently identify stories and make them work for different media outlets. • Be the Programme Manager for The Cumbrian Way programme including:

o Working closely with the Programme Director to ensure all aspects of programme management are undertaken

You’ll be an energetic person who thrives on making new connections and can inspire others to take action. As an experienced facilitator you will be confident facilitating groups and at ease with designing and adapting formal and informal training sessions appropriate to the context.

Your experience MUST include facilitating groups who don’t already hold a common and agreed set of values. So while academic or activist settings may form a significant part of your experience, it is essential to have worked in a mixed community or neighbourhood setting, where you regularly encountered and brought together a range of contrasting viewpoints, which included views substantially different to your own.

A knowledge of community organising methodology (see for example Act Build Change or Citizen’s UK) is useful, but there may also be other approaches or experiences that you could draw on for this role. You will be curious and keen to learn about the history of community organising and community development at Pembroke House, and keen to build on and contribute to the development of that work.
