We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Fundraising Officer with a strong focus on generating vital income for our services. This role will play a pivotal part in driving fundraising growth, building sustainable income streams, and cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, corporate partners, community groups, and grant‑making bodies.

Alongside fundraising, the postholder will help raise our public profile by strengthening awareness of domestic abuse and increasing engagement across digital and traditional communication channels. This position is ideal for someone passionate about charity-sector fundraising, purposeful storytelling, and impactful marketing that directly contributes to the safety and support of survivors.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Grant Writing

  • Research and apply for funding from trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, and corporates.
  • Prepare well-structured, evidence-based funding applications.
  • Support the CEO with partnerships, sponsorships, and donor engagement.
  • Maintain strong funder relationships and ensure timely reporting and compliance.

Planning, Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain an up-to-date funding pipeline and track deadlines.
  • Report on fundraising and communications activity to the CEO and Board.
  • Produce twice-yearly impact and communications reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR, and confidentiality requirements.

Marketing & Communications

  • Manage and grow MK Act’s social media and digital presence.
  • Keep the website updated with news, campaigns, and service information.
  • Produce newsletters, stories, and external communications.
  • Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all channels.
  • Monitor digital analytics and report on engagement and reach.

Awareness & Campaigns

  • Develop and deliver awareness campaigns about domestic abuse and MK Act’s services.
  • Work with ambassadors, survivors, and staff to share real impact stories.
  • Produce promotional materials for events and outreach activities.

About You

You will thrive in this role if you are creative, organised, and motivated by meaningful work. You will bring:

·       A successful track record in grant writing or charity-sector fundraising.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with funders, partners, and supporters.
  • Creativity and attention to detail when producing campaigns and materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills to monitor performance and evaluate impact.
  • Proven experience in marketing, communications, or social media management

Desirable

  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Experience communicating in sensitive or safeguarding-related contexts.
