To support and help drive our continued development we now need to strengthen our central, ‘corporate’ services for the charity and its constituent business operations. These services span HR, finance, management information, compliance, systems and ICT, premises and administration together with project management as required. We have created a new role, Business Support Manager, to lead this step-up in our central services.
The role
The Business Support Manager will lead the development and delivery of best quality, highly responsive business support services helping to ensure administrative excellence, smart systems and processes and fully compliant operations across the organisation.
Working to the CEO and with the wider management team, the Business Support Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating central services for the charity. You will manage multiple administrative and business functions delivering great service to internal customers in areas spanning: core finance and performance management processes and systems; HR including staff recruitment, induction and workforce development; building and IT management; and quality, compliance and governance including overseeing policies, procedures and documentation. Developing and delivering more efficient, streamlined office operations and workflows for our central administration and operations support is a key focus for the role.

About you
You will be highly organised, efficient and proactive and have:
· At least 3 years experience in a relevant business support/finance administration role
· Excellent financial and administrative skills including expert working knowledge of finance and accounting packages e.g. Quickbooks, Sage and processes e.g. invoicing, debt, monthly, quarterly and annual management finance and accounts, P&Ls
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Strong IT knowledge and capability
· Great analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
· Understanding of best practice HR administration
· Line management experience
· Knowledge/understanding of corporate/charity governance desirable.

IOM has been awarded a Home Office grant for a project which seeks to increase the capacity of organisations in the UK who support survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery (UK support providers) in the area of voluntary return and reintegration. In particular, the project will involve a comprehensive assessment among UK support providers of the current voluntary return arrangement for survivors. Secondly, in collaboration with the IOM Country Offices in Albania, Brazil, China, India and Pakistan, a mapping of reintegration services available in each country will be completed. Lastly, training and assistance will be provided to UK support providers to increase their capacity to conduct appropriate risk assessments and design risk management plans and make referrals for survivors to reintegration services in the countries of origin.
The position will lead on planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting on project activities, under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (COM) and direct supervision of the Head of the Protection Unit for IOM UK. The position will also lead on liaison with relevant external stakeholders on key project activities and will participate in external forums and meetings.

About the role:
As the Schemes Registrations Manager, you'll oversee and manage the SER administrative team, manage the registration process for individuals and firms, and ensure high service standards. You will handle audits of Approved Certifiers and Bodies, liaise with relevant regulatory bodies, and work with the DCEO. Additionally, you will serve as Secretary to the SER Board.
As the Schemes Registrations Manager you'll:
- Lead and manage the SER administrative team.
- Assist the Compliance Executive and coordinate with the Chair of the Registration Boards to assign audits for certifiers and approved bodies.
- As Head of Certification, work with the Lead Auditor to finalise audit outcome notifications and correspondence, including suspensions or terminations of membership.
- Oversee the assignment of mentors when deficiencies are identified.
- Manage the resolution process for projects identified during audits as potentially non-compliant with Building Regulations.
- Maintain a strong relationship with the Board of Directors' Chair.
- Prepare and send meeting agendas and papers, ratification lists, audit recommendations, and communications regarding suspensions.
- Compile and report scheme statistics to the Registration Boards
- Ensure all administrative processes comply with regulatory timeframes, including membership applications, renewals, and appeals
- Handling complaints, disciplinary actions, and appeals regarding members' conduct
- Interact with all current and potential members of the Certification Schemes
- Engage with members of the SER Board and Audit Pool.
Key requirements and experience:
- Knowledge of complex workflows and non-financial audit and compliance processes
- Overseeing/managing a certification scheme or similar gained in a membership body or regulator
- Managing an audit process through to delivery of outcome and providing support where targets have not been met.
- Working within a Board structure and delivering secretariat services, working with Chair to prepare agendas, produce minutes, letters and report writing.

The successful candidate:
A candidate who possesses a comprehensive understanding and background in non-financial audit and compliance operations. The ability to quickly assimilate and perform effectively is a critical requirement for this position. Outstanding communication skills, capable of articulating complex information with clarity and precision both verbally and in writing. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are vital, as is the capacity to evaluate both personal work and that of others critically. The role requires a flexible and inventive individual who can seamlessly lead a compact team, fostering collaboration across various departments and with key stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Material Focus is an independent not-for-profit established to help the UK meet its electrical reuse and recycling targets. They fund technical research on the barriers to recycling; work with partners to improve the current systems; and make it easier for people to change their behaviour through their nationwide Recycle Your Electricals campaign.
This role is part of their work to improve the UK electrical recycling system. All businesses who manufacture, import and sell electricals (producers and retailers) in the UK must comply with environmental obligations. These include ensuring electricals are responsibly recycled to protect natural resources, and manage waste. Businesses who don’t comply are called ‘Freeriders’.
This role will support the Local Authority and Environmental Partnerships Manager to educate electrical producers and retailers on their environmental obligations. You will carry out desk based research to help identify, map out and contact new and existing electrical producers and retailers (on and offline). And you’ll work with the inhouse team to develop communications and toolkits to help these businesses understand their environmental obligations. You’ll also work with the Environment Agency who are responsible for managing and investigating any potential ‘Freeriders’.

A bit about the role:
Manage a caseload of medium and high risk anti-social behaviour cases, developing and maintaining expert knowledge of ASB prevention and collaborating with key external partners through creating effective relationships, (including Police and Local Authorities) to resolve local community safety issues.
Engage with Peabody’s internal and external legal teams on complex cases, preparing documentation and where needed representing Peabody at Court and external meetings.
You will provide our Neighbourhood Managers with advice, support and all necessary tools and tactics to remedy cases with a key focus on prevention, intervention, and enforcement when necessary.
Collaborate with colleagues in Customer Services and Communities team to identify support needs, accessing relevant agencies for both victims and perpetrators of anti-social behaviour, completing referrals to mediation and other support services as appropriate.
This role will require a Basic DBS check, a full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

The HR Manager role:
This position sits within the Finance and Operations team, with a remit to provide HR advice and counsel to the Senior Management Team.
Key responsibilities of the HR Manager:
- Building strong, professional relationships with line managers - working closely with the Chief Financial and Operations Officer
- Providing commercially focused advice and support to line managers on all Employee Relations issues in line with procedures including performance management, disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, change management and sickness absence issues
- Developing and maintaining company employment policies to comply with employment law and regulations
- Revising, reviewing and implementing new systems, processes and HR documentation to support the Charity
- Working with senior management to develop and execute recruitment strategies; overseeing recruitment onboarding process
- Advising senior management on compensation and benefits, conducting benchmarking studies
- Identifying training needs, facilitating training sessions, and leading EDI initiatives
- Leading the annual Employee Engagement process and assisting with the implementation of improvement opportunities
- Ensuring health and safety compliance
- Contributing to HR strategies and assisting with workforce planning
- Helping to ensure an efficient and effective working environment
- Overseeing day-to-day office operations with responsibility for managing the
office environment.
Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the HR Manager role:
- Strong generalist HR background and experience of complex HR issues including redundancies, dismissals, grievances and change management
- Good general IT skills, especially MS Office and Employee databases
- A motivated individual with initiative and a structured approach to work who has good organisational skills
- Experience of working with remote teams
- Up to date knowledge of Employment Law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate and communicate effectively at all levels
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Educated to degree level
- CIPD level 5 qualification desirable
- Able to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
- Outstanding organisational, analytical and time management skills and ability to create effective processes and procedures
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and use own initiative

This role involves making sure the assessment centre satisfies health and safety standards that are expected in regards to cleanliness. This role is hugely important in making difference to our clients who have just come inside after rough sleeping. You will be part of a team that is achieving positive outcomes to support the vulnerable adults in their recovery and move on. You will play a vital role in providing high standard cleaning in the building.
In this role you will:

Provide cleaning to all areas of the building including some bedrooms and communal areas.

Complete regular inventories of materials and inform management of when items are running low so that they can be ordered. Pass repairs in to the Housing management part of the team.
Work to a cleaning schedule to ensure all parts of the building are cleaned on a regular basis.
About you
You will have good working knowledge of Health and Safety, a basic knowledge of IT and be comfortable working alone. You will possess effective communication skills and approach your work and clients in a non-judgemental way.

Key responsibilities of the Programme Manager:
- Leading and managing the successful delivery of complex projects/programmes across the Charity
- Building strong, professional relationships with line managers - working closely with the Chief Financial and Operations Officer
- Managing and delivering specific change initiatives
- Ensuring all stakeholder needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into all aspects of project/programme delivery
- Defining, measuring and communicating updates of programme & project performance to key stakeholders
- Managing the Charity’s IT support contracts, and working with contractors to ensure the IT infrastructure is robust and meets the evolving needs of the organisation
- Monitoring and evaluating changes in technology and making recommendations for systems improvements and/or cost savings
- Maintaining accurate project records
- Producing formal reports and documents which clearly set out complex issues to assist decision-making
- Supporting the general activities of the Finance & Operations Department as required
Essential experience, skills and knowledge required for the Programme Manager role:
- At least 5 years' experience as a project professional
- Experience and a working understanding of leading and delivering projects through others in a charity or services environment
- Good general IT skills, especially MS Office with more detailed knowledge of project programming and scheduling software, e.g. MS Project
- A motivated individual with initiative and a structured approach to work who has good organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to articulate and communicate effectively at all levels
- Experienced in chairing meetings and taking accurate notes of decisions, actions and commitments
- Experience of leading projects involving data migration and system integration
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Educated to degree level
- Project management qualification (e.g. Prince II or equivalent) desirable
- Able to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
- Outstanding organisational, analytical and time management skills and ability to create effective processes and procedures
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and use own initiative
