Cure Parkinson’s Gala 2027: Our last gala event ‘An Evening at the Roundhouse’, in October 2024, raised over £500,000. The evening was hosted by Edith Bowman and Simon Mayo and included performances from Emeli Sandé and Peter Andre.
Grand Cru.saders Banquet: The Grand Cru.saders are a new group of philanthropic wine enthusiasts with a mission, set up by our Development Board. To join each member pledges a case from their cellar to be auctioned in support of Cure Parkinson’s at an annual dinner. Their inaugural event took place in September 2025 and raised over £160,000.
Over the next 18 months we plan to build on the success of these events, delivering the second Grand Cru.saders Banquet in September 2026 and a gala in Spring 2027. As Major Gifts and Philanthropy Events Officer you would be a vital part of the team making this happen.

About the role
The FDIO will take the lead in developing the reports, dashboards and insight that directly support fundraising growth. Working closely with colleagues across the fundraising team, you’ll build accessible visualisations, monitor performance against key metrics, and support predictive analytics projects such as donor retention modelling and lifetime value forecasting.
You’ll also work hand-in-hand with our Database Manager to improve data quality, support data imports and ensure we are capturing information effectively across the organisation. About you
We’re looking for someone who has hands-on experience with CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge or similar), strong reporting and visualisation skills, and the ability to work confidently with data importing and management processes. You’ll be analytical, curious, and a natural problem-solver with strong Excel skills and the ability to present data clearly to different audiences.
Experience of predictive analytics or advanced segmentation would be an advantage, but most importantly you’ll be someone who enjoys improving systems and has a proactive approach to data.

Background
NAPAC (the National Association for People Abused in Childhood) is entering an important period of growth. Our income sources are diversifying, our public profile is rising and our operations are becoming more complex. With new earned income streams, additional grant funding, VAT considerations and more detailed Board reporting, we are now strengthening our finance function to ensure accuracy, clarity and confidence in all financial matters.
We are therefore seeking a freelance finance professional to provide part-time, ongoing operational finance support. The role involves managing our monthly financial bookkeeping and reporting functions, working closely with our Chief Operating Officer and wider team. Our current provider will continue to handle payroll and year-end audit preparation, but we are moving our day-to-day finance support to this new model.
We are looking for a proactive, highly competent individual who can understand the way NAPAC works and provide accurate, timely and thoughtful financial support. This is a key role that underpins our success and gives confidence to the team, trustees, funders and external stakeholders.
Scope of Work
The successful individual will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate financial records in Xero, including all necessary transactional data entry (such as inputting and coding income, expenses, invoices and credit notes), reconciling bank and PayPal accounts and preparing monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reports).
- Supporting monthly reporting cycles for internal governance (Income Generation Subcommittee and full Board).
- Liaising with our team to ensure invoices are raised, chased and coded accurately.
- Managing grant income allocations and restricted funds tracking in line with funder requirements.
- Supporting our team with financial queries, budget phasing and grant planning.
- Advising on Xero housekeeping (e.g. Chart of Accounts simplification, tracking codes).
- Advising on VAT issues, including preparation for registration if required (though this may be handled separately with legal input).
- Supporting periodic financial forecasting and budgeting alongside the CEO and Chief Operating Officer.
- Attending virtual meetings as required (Income Generation Subcommittee monthly; quarterly Board meetings and ad hoc meetings with staff).
- Ensuring a smooth handover and transition from the current provider.
Occasional projects may include:
- A full review and restructuring of our Chart of Accounts.
- Retrospective re-coding of entries for YTD accuracy and reporting.
- Supporting audit/year-end examination preparations (collaborating with TC-Group as our year-end auditor).
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience in operational charity finance or with social enterprises.
- Has demonstrable experience of restructuring a Chart of Accounts within finance systems.
- Holds or is training towards a recognised accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or who can demonstrate equivalent experience in operational finance roles, particularly where they have led on financial reporting, forecasting and working within Xero-led systems.
- Has excellent working knowledge of Xero and related finance systems.
- Understands the operational pressures faced by small to medium-sized charities.
- Can lucidly explain financial information for colleagues with varied levels of financial literacy.
- Is detail-oriented, reliable and a clear communicator.

- Is based in the UK and able to attend NAPAC's London office at least once per month.

Time Commitment and Working Style
The expected time commitment is approximately three-six days per month, depending on workload and reporting periods. We anticipate this may be higher in the first two-three months to support onboarding, systems review and transition from our existing provider. We are open to flexibility and working arrangements.
This role will primarily be delivered remotely, but requires in-person attendance at NAPAC's London office at least once per month. The successful provider must be available during UK business hours (09:00-17:00) to attend scheduled meetings as needed both via Teams online and in-person.
A laptop will not be provided, but full IT onboarding and access to relevant systems (e.g. Xero, Teams, secure file-sharing platforms) will be arranged, along with any required security protocols. Payment will be on a day-rate basis, agreed in advance.

The role will involve leading on the operational delivery of both legacy and in-memory marketing and legacy case management. The postholder will implement donor-centric approaches to legacy and in-memory campaigns and events, case management, and supporter stewardship.

Main responsibilities
Legacies
- Develop and implement a comprehensive legacy strategy, identifying new opportunities, products, and campaigns to increase engagement, consideration, and pledger numbers.
- Work across the Charity to ensure legacies are integrated across relevant channels to reach key audiences.
- Build a portfolio of case studies to showcase how legacy giving has had a transformative impact across our hospitals.
- Build and nurture relationships with legacy pledgers and prospects, organising legacy information and engagement events to position the Charity prominently in legator consideration.

About the role

The Finance Officer will be a new role for The Christie Charity (Charity) and a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to work for a fast moving, growing organisation. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter to support the Head of Finance, and Funds and Finance Business Partner with the following:
- The financial management of the Charity’s funds and individually funded projects; and
- The financial control and administration of The Christie Charity group including, but not limited to, The Christie Charity and its two wholly owned subsidiaries (The Christie Trading Company Limited and Northern Pathology Developments Limited).
You will be joining The Christie Charity at an exciting time as we seek to diversify the Charity’s income streams through use of innovative social investments and strategic commercial ventures. Financial management
In relation to the financial management of the Charity’s funds, you will support the Finance and Funds Business Partner in ensuring designated named funds comply with governance requirements and are utilised in accordance with their Terms of Reference. In relation to the financial management of individually funded projects, you will support the Finance and Funds Business Partner in monitoring spend against budgets through accountability mechanisms agreed with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust finance team.
Financial control and administration
You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial control across the Charity group. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for tasks such as ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations are completed and addressing any variances or discrepancies as part of month-end processes or preparing month-end management accounts for review by the Head of Finance. The Finance Officer is a newly created role that marks an exciting step in the Charity’s transition toward greater in-house financial management. Previously managed under a service level agreement with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, key aspects of financial management are now being brought into the organisation to strengthen control and governance.
Day-to-day financial transaction processing will continue to be delivered by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust during the initial months of the role, therefore, the postholder will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with their finance team to ensure seamless operations and continuity across the Charity group. These are anticipated to transfer to the Charity group with the postholder taking on a subset of these responsibilities within the first year in post.
This post would suit an individual who enjoys working in a dynamic, evolving environment, where responsibilities may shift in response to organisational priorities.
