Main Purpose of the Job:
Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, working in partnership with Turning Point and Antidote, provide the City and Hackney Recovery service. A full integrated service, shaped by the community needs and voices of service users, carers, families, & communities, all staff and volunteers will contribute to substance misuse recovery, social inclusion and improving the quality of life of all our service users in the City of London and Hackney borough. This Recovery Worker role will support service users primarily on the opiate pathway and keywork a caseload, supporting service users to decide their goals around treatment and develop plans to achieve these.

The Role

Job Summary

About You
- Educated to degree level with a full professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Significant post-qualification experience (PQE) in senior financial accounting roles, with strong technical expertise.
- Proven track record in producing annual statutory accounts and successfully managing external audit processes.
- Extensive experience leading and developing large finance teams within complex organisations, driving performance and accountability.

About the Role
- Lead statutory and management reporting: Oversee the production of audited statutory financial statements and timely completion of the external audit. Ensure best practice in external financial reporting and take full responsibility for the accuracy and delivery of monthly management accounts.
- Own cash flow and balance sheet management: Lead the preparation of the charity’s monthly rolling cash flow forecast and ensure full ownership of the balance sheet, including timely and accurate reconciliations.
- Strengthen financial controls and working capital: Ensure effective financial processes and controls within transactional teams to manage working capital and drive continuous improvement in financial operations.
- Oversee compliance and tax: Identify, manage and control financial risks, including tax compliance. Provide expert technical accounting advice and ensure the charity remains fully compliant in all taxation matters, including VAT and gift aid.
- Drive counter fraud and governance improvements: Act as the financial lead for the charity’s control environment and counter fraud framework. Champion improvements in fraud awareness, culture, and control.
- Manage key external relationships: Serve as the main contact for the charity’s bankers and investment managers, and act as secretary to the Finance Committee and Investment Advisory Group.
- Optimise treasury and investment performance: Lead treasury activities to maximise returns on working capital and investments, ensuring alignment with the charity’s strategic objectives.
- Develop team and performance culture: Foster a high-performing finance team through regular 1-1s, development reviews, and team meetings. Embed a strong performance management culture in line with St John Ambulance policies.

Role Overview:
The Parks Team are a passionate group of professionals, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, playgrounds, allotments and other greenspaces. The borough of Wandsworth has one of the richest varieties of open spaces in central London. Enable Leisure and Culture is a non-for profit charitable organisation and the lead contractor employed by Wandsworth Borough Council to provide management and maintenance of the boroughs 32 greenspaces. This role is part of the Enable Parks team, a passionate group of people, who work together to maintain and improve Wandsworth Council’s parks, commons, allotments and other greenspaces. We are keen to recognise, value, manage and enhance the natural and heritage landscapes that we manage - contributing to a healthy planet and the wellbeing of our communities.
The role of Parks Volunteer Programme coordinator in the Enable Parks team will allow you to demonstrate your skills working with stakeholders and local communities to deliver park improvements, habitat management tasks and one-off volunteering opportunities. You will assist with developing working relations with existing corporate partners and increasing our reach by creating new partnerships in the local area and beyond.
Your responsibility will be to manage and deliver volunteering sessions throughout the entire portfolio of parks and greenspaces. You will develop a volunteering program which is established but in its infancy, working with key managers and the team around you to create a purposeful and output focussed programme of opportunities for local groups and corporate partners. The potential to develop volunteering is significant, and therefore the most suitable candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to ‘make things happens’.
You will be responsible for creating each volunteer session as it addresses improvements or enhancements, and manage the needs of all volunteers throughout their experience. You will have responsibility for Health and Safety, external and internal contacts and be the lead person co-ordinating all associated admin tasks to create enjoyable and productive volunteer sessions in Wandsworth.
Another key aspect of the role will be strengthening links with businesses and organisations in the local area and beyond to develop a consistent pipeline of volunteer sessions that help improve Wandsworth parks and provide opportunities for people to give back.
You will need to gain a good understanding of all the work we do including our plans for future improvements. You will do this with the help of the Parks team and other collaborative service areas in Enable allowing you to design exciting output focussed activities and sessions.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

- Proactively develop existing relationships with local businesses and communities to attract a regular pipeline of groups that can access volunteering opportunities with Enable.
- Work with colleagues in the Parks team and all other internal departments to design activities that fulfil the ambitions of Wandsworth Borough Council and wider Enable company strategic objectives.
- Support colleagues in the Parks team with daily operational and project works where relevant, as directed by the Parks Delivery Manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or appropriate experience in a directly related post.
- Experience of working in a volunteer management, coordination or programming role, or similar work delivering practical biodiversity, habitat or landscape management.
- Proven ability to organise, plan, and manage projects effectively (including budget management, Health and Safety oversight, and environmental monitoring data).
- Experience of managing / supporting volunteers (delivering soft/hard landscaping improvements with volunteers is desirable.)
- Experience of developing annual outdoor educational/volunteering programmes for a wide range of participants.
- Entrepreneurial and customer service focussed, to allow the volunteer programme to develop into a sustainable, profitable and scalable service area.
- The ability to work independently using your own initiative and prioritise effectively whilst at the same time working collaboratively as part of a team on common goals and shared projects to ensure the work programme is delivered effectively.

We are currently recruiting for an Accountant- Financial & Reporting to join our Finance team based in Romford. You will:
- be fully qualified (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with at least 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in a financial accounting or reporting role

We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer to play a pivotal role in helping fund vital research by recruiting, retaining and stewarding supporters who donate through appeals, regular giving, by purchasing merchandise and through weekly lottery and raffle.
This is a London based role with hybrid working.

The Role
With the support of the Head of Individual Giving you will be responsible for campaign planning, testing, creative development, researching content and images for new appeals, agency management and delivery, making sure that any appeal is run efficiently and effectively from start to finish.
Support acquisition activity including media/list selection, creative development and testing, optimising existing campaigns.
You will be supported in working to the existing budget but will be able to influence and input into future financial planning from the results of your campaign tests and your negotiation skills with our suppliers.
Assist with the development of in memory, legacy marketing and newsletter development.
The Candidate
Demonstrable experience in working on direct marketing campaigns for a charity.
Ideally experience of supporting direct mail, telemarketing, email and online campaigns.
Experience of using a fundraising database for charity CRM.
Proven copywriting, editorial and proofreading skills, with ability to tailor copy to the audience.

About the role:
You are able to work a hybrid with 3 days working from the office in Southampton and 2 days working from home.
As a Caseworker you will:
- Make calls to offer support to victims of crime, delivering immediate support.
- Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support, which will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
- Work alongside and oversee the casework management of a small number of volunteer supporters
- Liaise and actively engage with other local providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for victims and survivors
- Use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes
- Working as part of a team with staff and the volunteer team to provide a seamless service to clients
You will need:
- Understanding of the impact of crime on victims such as sexual violence, hate crime and anti-social behaviour
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s)
- Ability to balance competing needs and priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders
