As the Director of Finance and Business Development, you will be responsible for leading change and developing strategies for growth and sustainability. Trusts and Philanthropy Officer

We’re looking for a motivated fundraiser to manage and grow a portfolio of small- and medium-sized trusts and foundations, whilst also supporting the Philanthropy Team in the development of the Major Donor programme.

The Role

Sitting within the High Value Engagement Team – comprising Trusts and Statutory, Philanthropy, Bids and Tenders, and Corporate Partnerships – the Trusts and Philanthropy Officer will build relationships with loyal and prospective donors, raising vital funds to power the Association’s work to support more people affected by stroke.

You will report into the Trusts and Grants Manager, with key responsibilities including:

· Raising income in line with agreed personal and team fundraising targets.

· Managing a portfolio of low- and mid-value trusts and foundations: working with internal colleagues to develop and prepare bespoke funding applications and reports.

· Managing the Small Trust Mailing programme (raising c.£80k/year).

· Prospect research: identifying and researching promising new donor prospects.

· Supporting the Philanthropy Team with prospecting, cultivation and stewardship of Major Donors, as needed.

About You

You will have:

· Knowledge of trust/philanthropy fundraising for a charitable organisation or equivalent.

· Experience of building and developing effective relationships in a professional setting.

· Excellent standard of written English

· Drive, enthusiasm and proven ability to deliver or exceed targets.

As our Director of Service Transformation, you will lead the exciting next phase of transforming our charity’s services to reach more disabled children, young people and their families. What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:

• Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families. 
• Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
• Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids. 
• Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services. 
• Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery.  Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability. 
• Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
• Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best. 
• Model and lead effective communications with all colleagues that bring to life the charity’s values and behaviours. Support colleagues to ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles and practice are evidenced in service design and delivery.

We are looking for an experienced  experienced coordinator, to support the development of StreetDoctors external communications, advocacy and policy development. 

We are an award-winning national charity which trains over 9,000 young people affected by street violence each year in emergency first-aid through a team of 300 healthcare volunteers and youth workers. • Strong leadership of a large team, leading by example and building trusted and positive working relationships with Directors, Heads and teams across Scope.

• Knowledge and ability to join up many cross-organisational enabler projects across data, digital, fundraising and supporter journeys to help us reach our marketing goals.

Our adviser teams work within local areas and via our national helpline. Our helpline hours are currently 09:00 to 18:00, Monday to Friday, and 10:00 to 14:00 on Saturday. We are looking for someone who can work on a flexible basis to ensure cover across the helpline’s working hours. There will also be the need to cover some hours on Saturdays, bank holidays and over the Christmas period.

The Role

Reporting to the PR Manager, the role will help deliver key media campaigns that call for change to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Working as a team to deliver a proactive, effective and 24/7 press office, building relationships with identified media and opinion formers, and ensure timely media responses based on organisational and reputational priorities.

· Working with the Campaigns and Public Affairs team to deliver influencing activity to key health board stakeholders, Stroke Association campaigners and the general public.

· Working with the Stories team to identify and deploy the real stories of the stroke survivors we work for.

About You

You will have experience of:

· Generating media coverage in Scotland, ideally in the charity sector.

· Using media to deliver calls to action to the public (eg donating, fundraising, campaigning) and/or decision makers (eg policy change).

· Planning, executing and monitoring media plans against identified briefs and overarching objectives.

· Working alongside Policy and Public Affairs colleagues.

· Creating, posting, and managing social media content.

· Reputation management and working with crisis communications teams.

· Working with colleagues from across an organisation to identify media volunteers (case studies) and developing stories to deliver media coverage.

Key responsibilities

Leadership

• Ensure volunteers receive appropriate, interactive and engaging volunteer training.
