Foyers and young people who have experienced homelessness are facing an increasingly challenging landscape, with new regulations being introduced, the cost of living crisis, and a lack of affordable housing for young people to move onto. Through targeted communications, insightful and well-placed thought leadership, and effective campaigns, the Head of Communications will take the lead in shaping the Foyer Federation’s voice and messaging, and champion the issues important to our members and young people.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience in building, nurturing, and managing relationships with media and PR contacts
- Demonstrable expertise in three out of four of the following areas: 1) brand development and management; 2) public relations; 3) campaigning; 4) marketing
- Experience of designing and creating effective communications materials that grow awareness, inspire action, and influence change
- Experience of developing a communications strategy
- Commitment to using an Advantaged Thinking, or another strengths-based approach, to ensure communications align with organisational values
- Capable of using various technology platforms (e.g., Microsoft, Apple products, Zoom, Google suite) and effective communications tools and approaches, including Social Media platforms
- Proven ability to generate ideas and work on own initiative to identify and leverage income generation opportunities from new and existing sources
Desirable:
- Experience of the youth, supported housing or homelessness sector
- Experience of designing and creating effective communications materials that grow awareness, inspire action, and influence change
- Experience of developing a branding or marketing strategy, as well as tracking and monitoring to ensure effective delivery against that strategy

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with AdviceUK at a time of investment within their team, and is leading on the recruitment of a Media and Campaigns Manager to join their talented, flexible and welcoming team.
Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, as Media and Campaigns Manager you will create campaigns, partnerships and content that have innovation at their heart and support the organisation's advocacy goals. You'll work in close collaboration with the Marketing Communications team to grow reach and engagement across communication channels, delivering campaigns that mobilise support and leverage media opportunities.
Salary: £30,961 plus Regional Weighting (£4,454 in London). All staff also receive £600 per year work from home allowance.
Contract: Permanent position, 35 hours per week with part time (four days/28 hours) and job share options considered
Location: Remote home based role with a small amount of office time four days per year to staff days, plus some travel for meetings as and when required for your role. This is a national role and we encourage applicants from across the UK to apply.

Key responsibilities within this role will be as follows:
- Develop and implement effective campaigns to raise awareness and drive action on priority issues for AdviceUK, including the effective delivery and evaluation of the #AdviceSaves campaign that includes Advice Week
- Work with the Marketing and Communication Manager to build engagement with members in support of campaigns and advocacy work, including developing social media strategies
- Alongside Policy and Public Affairs colleagues, deliver high-quality communications products including media articles, reports, blogs, presentations, web and social media content that communicate complex messages clearly and effectively to stakeholders
- Manage media and campaign areas of the website, creating regular, engaging and evidence-based content
- Devise and deliver a media strategy to secure coverage which advances AdviceUK's strategic objectives and ensures a diverse and inclusive approach
- Identify and produce engaging stories for a wide range of national, sector and local media across England, Wales and Scotland, and work with colleagues internally to communicate this content across channels
- Use a range of material to support this media communications activity including press releases, website content, video, animation, graphics, case studies and media briefings
- Work with Policy and Public Affairs colleagues to ensure effective communication of policy positions in responses to the media, opinion pieces and features and briefings for journalists
- Develop constructive relationships with journalists across the national and sector media, working with them to place proactive stories and briefing them on latest AdviceUK activity
- Support reputation management for AdviceUK and develop and maintain public position statements for key issues, advising and supporting AdviceUK staff where appropriate
We'd love to hear from individuals with the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience within a media and campaigning role
- Ability to create multi-channel integrated campaigns with a strong eye for developing content that supports calls for action
- Experience of delivering media strategies that deliver news and features coverage
- Ideally some understanding of the social welfare advice sector
- Well-developed stakeholder relationship management experience, including of nurturing positive relationships with journalists, and of working in partnership to deliver joint campaigns
- Experience of media communication planning, monitoring and evaluations in order to support decision making and improve engagement and impact
- Experience and expertise in translating evidence, data and research into compelling media-friendly content for a range of channels

Summary:
The HALO Trust are looking for an experienced and driven Philanthropy and Grants Manager to lead and develop high value relationships with philanthropic donors, with a focus on Trust and Foundations (and potentially corporates).
The Global Philanthropy Team works to secure support for the delivery of vital projects to save lives and protect livelihoods in conflict affected countries around the world, as well as build organisational resilience and support innovative areas of work. HALO’s philanthropic income has grown significantly in recent years, driven by introductions from our network of trustees, ambassadors and advocates and our focus on strategic and transformational partnerships. We are a small team of highly skilled, experienced and driven fundraisers with a collaborative team culture. Across seven regions, more than 1,000 local Ukrainian staff have already enabled the removal of more than 19,000 explosive items and the clearance of more 3.1 million m2 of land- bringing safety to communities and supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery.

About the role:
The HALO Trust has more than doubled in size over the last eight years by growing support from both Governments and philanthropic donors. Global income from philanthropic donors (including the US) has significantly increased over the past five years – from circa £4 million to £15 million in 2022/23 and reaching a further peak of £44 million in 2023/24 in response to exceptional donor support for Ukraine. Unpinning this is growth in six and seven figure partnerships with major donors, corporates and foundations, initiated by our exceptionally well-connected network of trustees and ambassadors - and nurtured by our committed and professional global philanthropy team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead growth within a portfolio of high value (six and potentially seven figure) relationships by providing excellence in supporter stewardship and through the development and delivery of relationship strategies, in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy and Head of Global Grant Partnerships
- Support senior HALO staff, advocates and trustees to engage and inspire individuals linked to agreed relationships
- Work with international programme teams to ensure the development of high-quality proposals and reports to tight deadlines
- Contribute to departmental strategic priorities including supporting the stewardship of other major relationships, follow up of new opportunities, and the development of philanthropic products for wider use. Deputise for the Head of Global Grant Partnerships where required
- Manage donor records and correspondence in Salesforce
- Work closely with Philanthropy and Partnerships (Gov funding) colleagues in the USA, UK, Europe, Middle East and overseas programs as part of a distributed team to provide support to global fundraising efforts
Essential Requirements:
- Three years' experience of personally leading successful relationships with high value philanthropic donors (Trust and Foundations, corporates or high net worth individuals or equivalent), including those giving at the six or seven figure level
- Experience of building effective relationships with advocates linked to philanthropic donors
- An excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with staff and colleagues in different cultural environments
- Outstanding written skills with the ability to work with programme and finance colleagues to design robust project proposals, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation
- Confident in working with financial information including project budgets
- Excellent written and verbal skills with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding interpersonal skills including ability to demonstrate tact, sophistication and gravitas
- Experience of working with a fundraising database to maximise relationship development
- A commitment to HALO’s mission and objectives
- Strong intellectual curiosity and the ability to articulate HALO’s various programmes and strategies in a compelling way

The position:
You will manage our Volunteer team, requiring exceptional communication, a natural affinity for people management and organisation, and an ability to inspire people to get involved with our work. You will be responsible for the overarching strategy and success of the Volunteer Program.
Line managing two members of staff, you will ensure our Volunteer team sets and meets their strategic goals, contributing to our organisational priorities. Hours:
This is a temporary 12 month maternity cover, full-time position over Monday to Friday.
From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. This pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.
During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, spanning Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms for the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided. In the event that THL UK considers before the end of the trial period that the trial is having an adverse operational impact, we reserve the right to bring the trial to end on one month’s notice.
Who you are:
Volunteers will be your passion. You’ll have a deep understanding of the importance of this kind of supporter and how to best steward their specific experience and manage their unique needs. You'll understand how to best manage and recruit volunteers, mobilising our UK wide network effectively both remotely and on the ground in order to create change. You’ll know how to best communicate and engage with them in order to make the most out of their time and efforts. You are someone who wouldn’t ask volunteers to do something you wouldn’t do yourself and you’ll ideally have some kind of experience of campaigning in a paid or voluntary capacity (e.g. attending protests).

You’re adaptable, and can work nimbly, with desirable experience working specifically within a campaign environment in some way, where things can change quickly and unexpectedly.
You’re someone who can keep your cool in challenging situations, being able to problem solve and reprioritise with ease to lead your team to success, even when things change at the last minute. You are able to continually evaluate and identify areas of improvement for the volunteer program, recognising key opportunities to evolve and adapt for the best possible impact for animals.

Job Purpose:
The Institutional Funding Manager will play an important role in SHA’s institutional income generation activities. Working closely with assigned country teams, the post-holder will support pipeline development, lead the development and writing of high-quality bids, donor engagement, and positioning for contract and grant opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for this role.
French and/or Portuguese language skills are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
Proposal development
- Identify, research and advise on new funding opportunities.

Journey and Cross Sell Manager (Maternity Cover)
Home based, remote working
£38,000 pa plus excellent benefits
35 hours per week
12 month fixed-term contract until September 2025
The Journey and Cross Sell Manager is responsible for developing rich supporter journeys, primarily across email, that deepen the relationship between RNID and our incredible supporters.
As The Journey and Cross Sell Manager, you will:
- Build, design and deliver supporter journeys that engage audiences and encourage them to take actions, such as donating
- Work closely with colleagues in Marcomms and Fundraising to develop journeys tailored to donor types and audience segments
- Work closely with the Digital team to build journeys in Microsoft Dynamics
- Draft journey content plans and write journey content
- Maintain oversight of journeys and email across the charity, ensuring supporters receive communications that are timely, relevant and effective
- Monitor data briefs
- Track journey data and results, making recommendations to optimise their performance
- Oversee the schedule for refreshing journey content and briefing into the Content team
- Write up key processes relating to journeys and cross sell and following project delivery processes
You are an experienced professional, passionate about developing supporter or customer journeys that build loyalty and engage and inspire people to take action. You are excited by the idea of being part of a team that strives to build relationships with supporters, moving them to become advocates for people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. You thrive in an organisational culture where agile ways of working, collaboration and a digital environment are the norm.
Experience of developing supporter or customer journeys, especially over email is essential, as is experience of using a CRM to build and send emails (Microsoft Dynamics desirable). You should also have strong communication and copywriting skills and experience of managing projects.

Location: Remote (travel to Leicester Office & other locations where necessary)

About The Role
This is an exciting new role within the marketing team. Reporting to the Individual Giving and Supporter Care Manager, you will enable effective communication with our supporters and build a strong connection with them by placing supporter care at the heart of our work, while also engaging potential new supporters.
You will work closely with colleagues to deliver engaging content that is relevant and resonates with the person receiving it. You will be responsible for the build, testing and sending of all supporter journeys and campaigns across different channels. You will combine the ability to manage the technical side of maintaining our CRM system to ensure records are up-to-date and correct, while also building automated supporter email journeys.

Stories and Media Officer
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced storyteller to show the impact of live music in healthcare through the voices of the charity’s diverse community. This could be people who have experienced the live music, their family members, health and care staff, musicians or other stakeholders.
The Stories and Media Officer will be skilled at telling stories in different ways for a variety of audiences and channels, including success with local or national PR campaigns. They will demonstrate human connection and the power of music to create special moments and memories.

The Role
You will build trust with people the charity is sharing a story on behalf of and foster lasting relationships. You will manage media contacts, seeking out relevant opportunities in the press and work with partners on features.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Lead on storytelling - writing effective and powerful stories to meet the needs of different functions, including fundraising materials, direct marketing, social media, sector reports and events, press opportunities, website features and publications.
- Attend live music experiences to conduct interviews and facilitate photography/filming etc
- Proactively identify and propose opportunities where stories can support and amplify the work of the charity, increasing awareness and supporting fundraising and impact reporting.
- Work within the communications team to facilitate social media and video content
- Manage a database of stories, case studies and quotes
About You
You will have experience of working across organisations to gather powerful and impactful stories and of building and maintaining relationships with different stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of successfully selling stories into local media and of managing stories in a database, including measuring and reporting on campaign performance.

About the Organisation
The charity seeks to share joy through live music with people receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK, including those who are vulnerable, the elderly, those with dementia and in critical care.
Skilled musicians are carefully selected through a process of audition.
