About the Role
As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Area Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of membership fundraisers based primarily in Lancashire and Cumbria with coverage across this vibrant area. Your leadership will play a crucial role in meeting ambitious fundraising targets while upholding the highest standards in ethical fundraising.
This is a hands-on role-supporting, coaching, and motivating your team while also fundraising alongside them to lead by example.
You will be expected to visit Leighton Moss Reserve frequently as well as off-site venues between Lancs and Cumbria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Coaching: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Fundraisers. Foster a positive team culture and lead by example to achieve fundraising targets.
- Performance Management: Monitor KPIs including membership volumes, average donation amounts, Gift Aid uptake, and attrition rates. Conduct regular reviews and provide coaching to continuously improve performance.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the daily logistics of your team, ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and alignment with RSPB values.
- Travel & Flexibility: You will be expected to visit Leighton Moss Reserve frequently as well as off site venues between Lancs and Cumbria - A full UK driving licence is essential - Weekend work will be expected as part of the role.

The role

* The salary for the post will be on Scale I (£47,508– £55,953). Starting salary is expected to be at the lower end of the range with precise level depending on skills, relevant experience, and qualifications. About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Senior Policy Adviser to join our Policy Solutions team and help deliver a new ambitious 3-year strategy to bring nature back from the brink by delivering a sustainable future in the UK and stopping deforestation overseas. Your remit will be to encourage a global transition to more sustainable land use and resilient food and farming system by using policy to tackle deforestation.
As Senior Policy Adviser your particular focus will be on setting the direction and delivering public policy for deforestation and conversion free and sustainable agricultural supply chains, for the UK and major consumer markets globally, particularly EU and China. You will be building on work of advocacy, campaigns and on the ground programme expertise in the UK and our partner offices. This role will involve supporting, and at times, leading an iterative process to understand the problem, explore and innovate solutions as well as design and prototype policy. We will look to you to maintain oversight of policy developments in farming, analysing existing and proposed policies for effectiveness and quality and being alert to new policy ideas. You will produce technical reports, coordinate activity with network colleagues and develop links and strategic relationships with other organisations to maximise our impact too.
This role is ideal for a creative policy specialists, interested in the process and outcome of policy development, inspired by exploring and developing solutions, designing and prototyping policy and influencing implementation.

- Responsible to the Parks Delivery Manager for all aspects of parks volunteering development and delivery across open spaces in Wandsworth. Including Health and Safety, budget management, relationship management, business development
- To develop a relevant and interesting programme of ‘volunteer sessions’ or ‘volunteer days’ that can be delivered alongside standard maintenance programmes, and provide added value to the work that Enable carry out on behalf of Wandsworth Council.
- Responsible for the efficient on site delivery of volunteer sessions for Enable.
- Proactively develop existing relationships with local businesses and communities to attract a regular pipeline of groups that can access volunteering opportunities with Enable.
- Work with colleagues in the Parks team and all other internal departments to design activities that fulfil the ambitions of Wandsworth Borough Council and wider Enable company strategic objectives.
- Support colleagues in the Parks team with daily operational and project works where relevant, as directed by the Parks Delivery Manager.
Skills and Experience:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or appropriate experience in a directly related post.
- Experience of working in a volunteer management, coordination or programming role, or similar work delivering practical biodiversity, habitat or landscape management.
- Proven ability to organise, plan, and manage projects effectively (including budget management, Health and Safety oversight, and environmental monitoring data).
- Experience of managing / supporting volunteers (delivering soft/hard landscaping improvements with volunteers is desirable.)
- Experience of developing annual outdoor educational/volunteering programmes for a wide range of participants.
- Entrepreneurial and customer service focussed, to allow the volunteer programme to develop into a sustainable, profitable and scalable service area.
- The ability to work independently using your own initiative and prioritise effectively whilst at the same time working collaboratively as part of a team on common goals and shared projects to ensure the work programme is delivered effectively.

The Education Coordinator is key to delivery of the core operations and communications that support Surfers Against Sewage’s education programmes.
This postholder will take some responsibility for aspects of supporting programme delivery (Plastic Free Schools, Pupil Power Assembly, Ocean School); delivering schools-facing communications, coordinating digital resources and tools, and ensuring effective CRM and data operations.
This role is well-suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing multiple workstreams with autonomy.
Programme Delivery & Coordination
- Be the key point of contact for Plastic Free Schools, managing sign-ups, school journeys, and evidence submissions.
- Support the delivery of major education moments (e.g. Pupil Power Assembly) through registration coordination, resource preparation, and communications support.
Schools Engagement & Communications
- Be the first point of contact for all school enquiries via email and phone.
- Draft and distribute school newsletters, updates, and information campaigns across platforms.
- Support blog writing, social media drafting, and amplification of education stories in collaboration with the comms team.
Digital Tools & Content Support
- Upload and maintain education resources on the website.
- Help test and review user journeys to ensure an excellent experience for schools using new tools.
