Our Community Fundraiser will spend their time encouraging groups, individuals, clubs and organisations to raise money through everything from sponsored events, sales and ticketed gigs, and donations.

Community Fundraiser
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week – up to 37 hours per week.
Contract: Permanent
Base: Osney Mead, Oxford, Hybrid role (Travel Requirements across Oxfordshire and Berkshire West)
Salary:

• 37 hours per week = £25,500 - £27,444 (dependent on skills, experience and knowledge)
• 30 hours per week = £20,675.68 - £22,251.89 (Salary dependent on skills, experience and knowledge)

Using data to support the work of a dynamic cancer charity.

Database Assistant
Location: Aylesbury HQ, Hybrid role with options for flexibility
Working Pattern: 21 hours per week (Flexible over 3- 5 days, incl Mondays)
Salary: circa £22,000 (pro-rata £13,200 p/a for a 21-hour working week)
Contract: Two-year, fixed-term contract.

PA to the Archdeacon
Maidstone, Kent
£13,046 pa plus excellent benefits (FTE £26,092 pa)
Part-time, 17.5 hours per week

The PA to the Archdeacon is a crucial and incredibly varied role at the Diocese, as you will provide support at a senior level to ensure the smooth running of the work of the Archdeacon’s Office in Maidstone.

As PA to the Archdeacon, you will be responsible for managing their diary, arranging meetings, events, training, diocesan responsibilities and other functions as necessary. You will also proactively assess the needs of the Archdeacon to provide organisational and administrative support to meet their wide-ranging responsibilities and the needs of the deaneries and parishes within the Archdeaconry area.

Reporting to the EA to the Diocesan Secretary, you will act as a friendly first point of contact and build excellent relationships with all who come into contact with the work of the Office.

Assisting the Archdeacon in the coordination and organisation of legal and procedural processes related to the work of the Archdeaconry or the wider diocese, you will also support with the filling of clergy vacancies in parishes, ensuring that the necessary meetings are arranged and all paperwork is completed on time.

Educated to a good standard, you should have proven experience as an administrator or Executive Assistant and of working with senior members of staff. With excellent administrative skills and demonstrable interpersonal and organisational abilities, you will be at ease developing structured, organised and highly efficient approaches to the work of the office of a senior leader ensuring work streams are delivered on time and to a high standard.

It is essential for you to be sympathetic to the mission and ethos of the Christian Church, the Church of England and the Diocese of Canterbury.

You will be expected to work occasional evenings and in rare cases some weekends, which would be taken as time off in lieu.

The Archdeacon of Maidstone has a busy role as a senior leader in the Diocese, supporting the life, vision and oversight of the Maidstone Archdeaconry encompassing it’s clergy, members, schools and churches.

This role is at the heart of the charity, managing delivery of existing services while developing new and innovative activities to help people with a cancer diagnosis back to independence with a renewed sense of self-esteem - "Living your best life-despite cancer".

We need our Service Delivery Manager to:

• manage our existing portfolio of programmes and activities, ensuring that all activities are delivered        according to scope, schedule, budget, safety and quality standards
• supervise and motivate the contractors who act as activity leaders
• engage with and motivate the volunteers who support activity leaders
• ensure compliance with all relevant processes, legal requirements and standards
• manage the locations across Huntingdonshire that we use and grow additional hubs
• ensure the charity continues to respond to the needs of the people we support
• act with integrity and respect - be confident, proactive, seek out and listen to what people are doing and want to do    
• be creative – respond positively to what you hear, be innovative as you develop and test ideas for new services and activities
• be resourceful, think outside the box and gaing support – people and money – to deliver locally to meet agreed outcomes in the areas of emotional wellbeing, physical activity, nutrition and 1:1 support
• develp your budget, aware of essential financial constraints to ensure sustainability
• know and care about people with cancer and the issues that affect them

This role is hybrid. The successful applicant will be required to work at our Bradbury House location on 2 Fridays each month when we run our drop-in and hold operational meetings. The address is Mayfield Road, Huntingdon, PE29 1UL. In addition, the post holder will be required to attend in person on other days as needed, for example, our Men’s Group in Huntingdon on Wednesday mornings, our Women’s Group on Wednesday evenings, and new activities on other days and locations around Huntingdonshire, together with occasional evening and weekend working in the Huntingdon area. 

The time commitment is 15 hours per week at the rate of £20 per hour. Our preference is for the post-holder to be a self employed contractor.

Well Connected is seeking someone with community engagement experience, to become our new Community Connector within easy reach of Plymouth, Devon.  This is an exciting opportunity to work with us and alongside our partners to support students’ community placements and learning experiences, enabling students to engage directly with communities.

The role will facilitate and develop a range of programmes which aim to increase students' understanding of the health needs of a variety of population groups, such as people who experience homelessness, vulnerable adults, children and families, etc.

The Community Connector will join a small, yet dynamic team, be self-motivated and able to work independently towards achieving their targets.They must be enthusiastic, kind, approachable and enjoy interacting with students, community organisations and local people and be open to learning, developing their own skills and want to support the learning of others.

While a background in health and/or teaching is not a requirement, you should be interested in promoting wellbeing and passionate about supporting the teaching and learning of the health professionals of the future.

A DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.

What We Offer

Carers Service Coordinator

Purpose of Post

This is an exciting time to join our innovative carers service. We are in a position to grow the current support offered and develop other ways of supporting carers across Hertfordshire.

The Carers Coordinator is an integral role within Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) and to the future development of the service. Using the ethos and values of peer support, the post holder will support carers in an empathetic, safe, respectful and empowering way; using their lived experience to bring hope.

Key Responsibilities

• To recruit, train and support a team of volunteers to provide 1-1 support and group support
• Arrange regular 1-1 and group support via Teams for volunteers
• To work within the model of peer support to help unpaid carers to discuss common experiences and to establish and maintain relationships built on trust
• To work with the Service Manager to assist in the planning, organisation and development of the Carers service
• To work closely with the Volunteer Team around the volunteer recruitment process and Volunteer Selection Training
• Ensure volunteers are aware of all training opportunities
• Attend training, supervision sessions and appraisals as required
• Act as a positive role model for unpaid carers

• Annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year pro rata, rising in increments to a max. of 29 days after 5 years employment (plus 8 days Bank Holidays)
