The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to achieve mental, physical and social wellbeing throughout their lives.
We provide confidential, personalised support to the whole of the fire services community, whether that’s at our centres, over the phone, online or out in communities.
We are looking for an experienced Fundraiser to join our national team who can inspire the diverse communities across the North East of England to unite support for their fire community.

The Role
Building relationships with the fire and rescue services in your area, you’ll become an integral part of the local fire services community. You’ll join a nation-wide team of inspiring and innovative fundraisers, working collaboratively to secure the much-needed income for the Charity.
Helping to coordinate events, support fundraising initiatives and implement new ideas, you’ll support your people, stations, and offices to raise awareness of the Charity and achieve and exceed income targets, as well as working with local businesses and people to maximise our fundraising potential.
By generating the income, we need to realise our ambitions you will help us to be there for even more members of the fire and rescue community.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative fundraiser to join our team, full of ideas and a positive attitude.
You’ll need excellent business and project planning skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and adapt your communication style to your audience.
You’ll be responsible for maximising the potential fundraising income from every initiative you support, so you must be able to effectively engage with multiple stakeholders and build strong networks.
You’ll also be able to support and inspire our volunteers, ensuring that these vital links between our Charity and the fire and rescue services are happy and fulfilled in their roles.
Reporting to the Fundraising Manager, you’ll be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.

LEVEL 1 ROLE – Ocean Discovery Ranger - Entry level
You will be required to work 24 hours across seven days, usually rota’d at approx 6 hour shifts. The rate of pay is £11.44 per hour.
LEVEL 2 ROLE - Ocean Discovery Ranger
As a Level 2 Ranger there will be the extra responsibly of assisting with either:
· Ocean Squad programme of activities, planning and delivering the programme to meet its 5 year goals.
· Snorkelling programme of activities, planning and delivering the programme to meet its 5 year goals
You will be required to work 26 hours across seven days, usually rota’d at approx 6 hour shifts. The rate of pay is £12.00 per hour.
LEVEL 3 ROLE - Ocean Discovery Ranger - Volunteer Officer
As a Level 3 Ocean Discovery Ranger, you will be lead on the coordination of the Ocean engagement volunteer programme, including recruitment, induction and training of our volunteers. Volunteers within the team support the programme by increasing engagement throughout the building through busking, games, 1:1 conversation, mini talks, greeting people as they start their journey. All these activities contribute to visitor satisfaction, return visits, increased engagement numbers, increase in GLO scores. In addition to this, volunteers boost OCT ambassador numbers and increase engagement with our advocacy programme such as the #thinkOcean Challenge, membership, driving donations and newsletter sign ups.
There is a need to expand the volunteer programme, to continue driving the work of the OCT. To expand successfully, more time needs to be focused on recruitment, training and retaining volunteers. Retention is particularly important as it allows us to maintain a high standard of delivery within the programme. There is also a desire to diversify our volunteer programme which will take considerable time investment to connect with local communities and explore different recruitment avenues.
ESSENTIAL

• Experience supporting volunteer based activities and/or leading a group of people.
You will be required to work 30 hours across seven days. The rate of pay is £12.43 per hour.

About the Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.
The organisation’s mission is to ‘Restore Dignity and Renew Hope’ to those in our communities brought down by poverty and debt. The job holder will play their part in bringing this vision to reality, supporting clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations, to get back on their feet and realise their full potential.
The role combines both technical and pastoral elements. The role will involve building a client case, untangling sometimes complex situations, liaising with creditors, providing guidance for volunteers, and discerning and communicating the appropriate choices and strategies for the client. But you will also need to lead client appointments and support clients through what at times can be emotionally difficult situations.

We are looking for someone with prior debt advice experience who ideally has experience in leading and supervising volunteers.
Essential skills and experience of the Case Manager include:
- Previous experience in providing regulated debt advice on a case management basis
- Being a DRO intermediary would be an advantage
- Demonstrable experience in providing person-focused support to clients who may be vulnerable
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to show empathy, compassion and patience
- Sound IT skills with a strong command of the Microsoft Office suite

Reporting to the COO, the Head of Volunteering will play a pivotal role leading the organisations volunteering work. The Inclusion Officer will be responsible for the management, coordination, and delivery of the Trust’s social inclusion programmes across Northamptonshire, this includes the Premier League Kicks programme and anti-crime initiatives. The Inclusion Officer will be integral to the successful delivery and growth of the Kicks Programme across Northamptonshire. Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham (CAHF) is a busy, dynamic award-winning service. We deliver a variety of projects via face to face and digital media. Since 2012 we have delivered a volunteer led community library service at Avonmore library.
In April 2024 we embarked on running a second community focused library at Askew Road. To support CAHF community library delivery at both libraries, we introduced the role of Community Library Coordinator.
Purpose of the role:
Whilst the role encompasses traditional library duties, our community library service is a hub of the local community, which provides a wide range of activities to library users of all ages across the week.
The Community Library Coordinator role oversees and develops library events with a wide range of community partners. They will promote and support library volunteer delivery.
Working with external and internal local partners such as Citizens Advice to enhance community library service offerings to the local community.
About you:

You will have the ability to promote the library service and provide excellent customer service to a wide range of diverse library users. New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.
Salary: £31,200 - £34,736

At Bookmark Reading Charity, we exist to change children’s life stories through the joy of reading. Volunteers are vital to our ongoing success at Bookmark and our team are focused on providing them with a positive and rewarding volunteer experience. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a key role in the communications with, support for and retention of volunteers. You will also help develop the volunteer experience across the organisation, ensuring continuity and quality in our volunteer involvement practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the Volunteer Services Manager to deliver the Volunteer Strategy and Bookmark’s vision
- Deliver mechanisms to maintain or improve volunteer activeness , satisfaction and retention
- Act as primary contact for volunteers, supporting with enquiries and concerns
- Deliver ongoing volunteer stewardship and recognition functions
- Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of events and drop-in sessions for prospective, onboarding and onboarded volunteers
- Deliver continuous development and coordination of other support services, including but not limited to our volunteer messaging platform, engagement resources and the Volunteer Helpline
- Facilitate peer-to-peer engagement opportunities for volunteers
- Conduct, report and advise on volunteer feedback and insights
- Support with delivery of Volunteer Advisory Board
- Support with creation and delivery of volunteer marketing and publicity opportunities
- Deliver prospective and current volunteer communications

- Experience of supporting volunteers
- Understanding of the external volunteering environment and relevant implications for volunteering and service delivery

The Role
The Operations Manager's role is critical to the charity's long-term sustainability and is pivotal in ensuring that we remain relevant and necessary.
This is an internally focused role in our service delivery, covering clients' and volunteers' journeys. You will be part of the management team, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of our central team's support to our network of branches.

As a small charity, the role will require balancing practical tasks with strategic planning and management. Building on what has already been done, you will work directly with the CEO and the Strategic Programme & Change Manager to help develop REMAP's operational structure and support its day-to-day operations.

Terms & Conditions
Place of work: Fully remote, with occasional 2/3 nights away for year-round events.
Working Hours: 37 hrs—a minimum of core hours from 10 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday must be met.
Salary: £35,000 – 40,000, dependent on experience
Holiday entitlement: Begins at 25 days per annum, in addition to public holidays.
