Service Charge Analyst

Gateway are uniquely the largest Sheltered Housing provider in Tower Hamlets and were the first registered provider of older persons shared ownership in the borough. They are seeking an organised, diligent Service Charge professional to support on the technical side of the Service Charge lifecycle and improve processes within the department. You will work closely with budget holders, enabling data-led decision-making and supporting donor and committee reporting. As a key member of a small, collaborative team, you will be hands-on managing a mix of transactional and more advanced duties, proactive in ensuring the key points in the yearly Service Charge cycle run smoothly.

Role Responsibilities:

• Undertake assigned processing, accounting, monitoring, control and review of service charge income and costs on a periodic basis.
• Review service charge income and costs monthly to ensure they have been charged to the correct scheme and fully investigate and resolve any principal variances and anomalies identified (e.g., miscoding’s, duplications).
• Prepare periodic reconciliations of service charge income and costs on a scheme/block level and with the preparation of annual service charge estimates and actuals processes for all tenures.
• Resolve service charge queries from internal and external customers.
• Complete assigned elements of strategic delivery projects across the organization, particularly relating to service charge specific projects.
• Ensure consistent apportionment and allocation of scheme costs in mixed tenure blocks and other complex schemes and regular monitoring, control and analysis of such costs.
• Implement and embed key service charge systems and processes as part of the organisation wide service charge improvement project.

Person Specification:

• Experience in service charge computation, accounting and analysis, including preparation of service charge budgets, estimates and actuals
• Robust understanding of residential service charge management, including current legislative requirements and sector best practice
• Strong organisational skills, able to control and deliver a range of tasks to strict deadlines
• Social housing experience.
• Experience of working with third parties, the wider community, and other external partners including managing agents

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Moving and Handling advisor, with an interest in working with older people, to join our established and well-regarded in-house Therapy team at Nightingale Hammerson. You’ll have time to get to know and work collaboratively with our Residents implementing rehabilitation programmes and optimising functional ability to improve quality of life. Put simply, you will make a difference.

Our ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitating learning, supporting residents with complex needs using a range of skills and techniques, using advanced communication skills and strategies to support engagement and being confident with supporting Residents who may be frail and living with a range of medical conditions until the end of their lives. We particularly also welcome candidates with an interest in 24 hour postural support and MDT working around seating and positioning.  This role offers a mix of leadership opportunities including delivering training as well as hands on face-to-face time

You will be responsible for working across the charity to identify new funding opportunities, preparing high-quality applications, and maintaining relationships with key funders. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and highly organized individual with experience in fundraising and grant writing.  Making A Difference To Maidstone is a hyper local Christian Charity working on behalf of those in crisis in Maidstone Kent.

Responsibilities:

· Research and identify potential trusts and foundations to approach for funding.

· Work with the Management team to identify projects and proposals.

· Write compelling funding applications and reports to secure financial support for the charity’s projects and initiatives.

· Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key funders, keeping them informed of progress and the impact of their donations.

· Manage a portfolio of existing trusts and foundations, ensuring timely reporting and stewardship.

· Track and manage fundraising data, ensuring accurate records of all communications and activities.

· Prepare regular fundraising reports.

Required Skills and Experience:

· Proven experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on trusts and foundations.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write persuasive proposals and reports.

· Strong research skills and the ability to identify new funding opportunities.

· Experience in managing donor relationships.

· Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

· Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.

· Proficient in all Microsoft and Google software applications

Desired Skills and Experience:

· Knowledge of Beacon Customer Relations Management system desired

· Certificate in Fundraising either from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising or equivalent desired

· A good Marketing and/or Fundraising background is desired

· A commitment to making a positive impact.

We have a Senior Solicitor opportunity in our in-house legal team to work on a broad range of matters.

Fixed term contract until 16th January 2026, 4 days a week (0.8 FTE) 

The successful candidate will be required to provide legal advice across areas of law including but not limited to public law, charity law and general commercial law, including intellectual property, contracts and procurement.  You will also advise on subsidy control, information law and litigation, provide practical legal advice to help further our Strategy, It Starts with Community, in a user-friendly way, to ensures that we are complying with our statutory and regulatory framework.

The role requires an ability to get up to speed with new areas of the law as the team deals with a broad range of legal issues. The Senior Solicitor will use their legal knowledge and experience to improve the Fund’s internal processes.

They will generally manage their own legal files (often on important funding initiatives and partnerships) working in a highly collaborative and collegiate team, where the sharing of legal know how and continuous improvement is highly valued up to date management information about the work and impact of the Legal Team to senior managers.

The Senior Solicitor will be working in a Legal team of 14 colleagues. The role does not include any line management responsibilities but it does have matrix management responsibilities for more junior members of the team (Solicitors, paralegals and Legal officer). 

Strong general commercial legal experience is essential.  Experience working in an in-house or private practice environment in the UK with a varied and workload and wide range of customers would be ideal, as would experience of public law and advising public bodies.

The roles can be based in any of our UK offices, with hybrid home/office working arrangements available. It is expected that the candidate will attend the London office every couple of months for key meetings.

• UK qualified (or equivalent) solicitor or barrister
• At least five years’ relevant post-qualification experience in private practice or in-house Legal in a medium/large sized organisation
• Strong general commercial experience

• Excellent communication and customer management skills
• Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities with good organisational and time management skills
• Ability to quickly upskill in new legal areas and use your initiative to proactively improve ways of working
