The Opportunity: 

We are seeking an Accounts Officer to support our Finance Director in managing the financial operations within the UK office. This pivotal role contributes to our mission by ensuring financial accuracy, adhering to compliance standards, and facilitating effective financial administration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in daily financial operations, including processing transactions, managing payroll, and handling expenses for staff and volunteers.
2. Support the month-end financial closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
3. Help in preparing and filing VAT returns and managing compliance with HMRC regulations.
4. Serve as a contact point for UK banking operations, helping to maintain robust banking relationships and mandates.
5. Contribute to the maintenance of financial controls and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency.
6. Assist in providing financial training and support to BIF staff, promoting understanding of financial policies.
7. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure alignment of financial procedures and support the Finance Director in strategic financial planning.

Competencies and Qualifications:

1. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
2. Experience in financial operations, preferably within a charity or NGO setting.
3. Preferably progressing towards/has recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW)
4. Understanding of UK financial regulations and tax laws, with specific knowledge of VAT and GiftAid advantageous.
5. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
6. Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
7. elf-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The Partnership Manager role will report to the CEO and sit within the Business Development Team.

The Partnership Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. You will have a clear ability to tailor the way we sell our services to potential clients.

In this role, you will work closely with the Digital Communications and Marketing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Programme and Finance teams.

Essential Experience

• Have a minimum 5 years sales and client relationship experience

• Proven success in a similar role, with a track record of securing income through multi-year partnerships

• Strong relationship management skills, particularly within the education and/or corporate sector.

• Ability to manage a heavy and varied workload effectively and maintain high levels of both accuracy and output

• Ability to think strategically and identify new opportunities and initiatives to grow the business

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience of producing high quality written materials that are tailored to the needs of specific internal or external audiences.

The Role

 The Senior Finance Business Partner will oversee financial management of key programme areas for the charity.

· Provide financial analysis and commentary to support in strategic decision making in relation to programme areas

· Ensure financial and management reports are presented in an accessible way to finance and non-finance stakeholders alike

· Finance business partner across programme management teams to support in financial management reporting

· Support in the production and review of management accounts

· Create and deliver financial plans for programme areas including forecasting and reporting on performance against budgets.

· Liaise with wider team to ensure donor reporting standards are met for donor financial reports

· Staff management one finance business partner and be responsible for their development

Head of Finance Business Partnering

Key responsibilities:

• Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and work in partnership with other teams providing data and analysis relevant to the business strategy.
• Use data from various data sources to understand historic trends and use this information to create financial models and presentations to inform budget decisions.

Room to Heal is a human rights charity and therapeutic community based in London. Our mission is to support people who have survived or witnessed torture and organised violence to rebuild their lives in exile, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance. Oak Housing is a For-Profit Registered Provider offering a range of affordable housing solutions to Local Authorities and NHS Trusts in London and the South East. The Finance Director will sit alongside the Operations Director and report into the CEO. The role is responsible for overseeing all financial activities for the organisation, whilst offering critical strategic direction. Main responsibilities of the role:

• To support the CEO in managing the rigors from day-to-day budget setting / monitoring and cashflows to fund reporting and Board briefings.
• Carry out a review of the present situation, incorporating systems, processes, deficiencies and risk areas.

Community Advice Works is an established community charity based in New Cross in South
East London. As the only charity in the London Borough of Lewisham offering a general
drop-in advice service, we are a critical source of support to vulnerable residents. We have

Katherine Low Settlement has worked with older people since its conception in 1924.They are a core part of the community that we continue to work with. Our services include an Older People's Lunch Club, Contact Club, T’ai Chi for Elders, exercise and social sessions, and support online.

Key Objectives for the Elders Core Service Manager Role:

• Communication: Oversee communication for the Core Programme, including newsletters, activities calendar, annual reports, and social media platforms.
• Meetings: Attend meetings on behalf of the Core Programme as required.

4. Finance

• Budget Management: Manage project areas to budget and maintain financial records as agreed with the Head of Programme.

Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands have a rewarding opportunity to lead our team committed to providing support to families across the Moorlands, responding to the challenges within the charity sector.

We are seeking a manager, with a range of skills, able to lead the team, oversee the operations of the charity, provide support to the Trustee board, and ensure the future financial strength of the charity. We are seeking a manager who can provide strategic leadership and vision, has strong communication skills, has knowledge of charity finance and skills in bid writing and income generation, and who is passionate about the early years and the work of Home-Start.

Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands has operated successfully in the Moorlands district for 25 years. We have a strong track record in the delivery of both home visiting support through our skilled Coordinators and Volunteer team and in Group provision for the early years.

The successful candidate should

• Demonstrate commitment to the importance of the early years and the importance of support to parents who may be facing difficulties
• Demonstrate experience of leadership and management in a changing environment
• Have experience of securing funding and income generation
• Be able to form partnerships with voluntary, statutory and community organisations

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring that financial transactions are administered in the most efficient and effective way, with effective controls and processes in line with internal and external governance
• Monthly accounts preparation
• Ensuring that purchasing administration from point of order through to payment is administered in line with agreed Service Levels
• Ensuring all income is administered effectively in line with agreed Service Levels
• Ensuring accurate financial records are maintained with effective and timely reconciliations across General Ledgers, sub-ledgers, bank and inter-company accounts
• Ensuring payroll payments are made in line with Service Levels and that effective controls/reconciliations are maintained
• Ensuring a high level of data quality is maintained to ensure maximum effectiveness of end-to-end processing
• Driving efficiencies and effectiveness of the team, processes, data, and systems to enable improvements in the timeliness of robust financial information
• Developing and leading an efficient and motivated team to delivery of accurate and value adding financial information
• Maintaining effective communication with key stakeholders developing strong and positive relationships

We would like to hear from you if you have:

• Proven experience of the provision of monthly accounts in an effective and timely manner
• Experience of running and driving improvements within an Operational Finance Function, specifically delivery of effective Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable disciplines
• Track record of managing and developing high-performing finance teams
• Experience of Oracle Fusion or similar complex financial systems
• Strong ownership and accountability along with a positive can-do attitude
• Ability to assess performance from a strategic/holistic view, drawing out key areas for improvement and resolution
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead, prioritise and set clear direction of teams
• Strong people management skills
• Strong communication and engagement skills
