As the Innovation and Collaboration Manager, you will design and lead projects and programmes of work that support health and care practitioners, including senior leaders and patients, to make progress on some of the most complex challenges facing the health care sector.

The role
As the Programme Manager, your role is pivotal in supporting the delivery and continued development of the Systems Approaches in Government programme, driving the advancement and application of systems approaches across government. Job Purpose
Sitting within BSR’s exciting External Affairs & Audit team the Clinical Audit Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the on-going work of the National Early Inflammatory Arthritis Audit (NEIAA) to gather evidence and drive up the quality of care for patients living with inflammatory arthritis. With touch points across the Rheumatology community, the NHS and health regulators, the NEIAA project is an essential tool in achieving this part of our five-year strategy. At a busy and important time for the NEIAA project this is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to develop their organisational, project management and stakeholder relation skills as we work towards producing our 6th ‘State of the Nation’ report and securing an extension of the Audit contract.
Main responsibilities
- To provide administrative support to the NEIAA project manager such as setting up business processes, engaging with stakeholders and managing the audit mailbox as the first point of contact.
- Liaise with the governance groups for the audit project and assist with the coordination of NEIAA meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, and undertaking follow-up actions.
- To assist in the development of communications around the NEIAA project including with the Annual Report.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to encourage participation with the audit from Trusts and Health Boards.
- To support the project manager in the planning and smooth running of the NEIAA project plan.
- To maintain high standards of confidentiality and information governance across all aspects of data collection and storage.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

We provide free representation to people facing the death penalty worldwide, with a focus on the Commonwealth. We believe the death penalty is a cruel and inhuman punishment that discriminates against the poorest and most disadvantaged members of society. We want to see it consigned to history.
What we do:
We represent and assist those facing the death penalty and other cruel punishments, free of charge.
We deliver targeted and practical capacity building to judges, lawyers, mental health professionals, and others working within the criminal justice system.

Our programme supporting Higher Technical Education has big ambitions. Known as the ‘missing middle’ of higher education in England, we want to see the declines in level 4 and 5 technical education reversed and more providers emerge who can offer high-quality education and training to help people access highskilled occupations. Key to this transformation is the role of Institutes of Technology (IoTs) – collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers – and we have been working closely with the National Network of Institutes of Technology to support their success. About the role
The Inclusive Climate Researcher is being recruited to support delivery on this growing portfolio of research and consultancy focussing on inclusive approaches to climate action, adaptation, mitigation and resilience. This work is closely aligned with GDI Hub’s work on inclusive cities and infrastructure, so an understanding of the intersection of climate, disability inclusion and accessibility in cities is important, and the post holder will likely work closely with inclusive design colleagues.
Initially, the role will primarily support a new project integrating disability inclusion in low carbon futures through research, training and technical assistance.
Role overview
This role will suit someone with research experience that is also looking to engage in practical work and drive impact.
The role will require knowledge of disability innovation and inclusive design in the context of climate change, including an appreciation of disability in the context of wider social inclusion and climate adaptation/mitigation. While the post holder will be able to work with subject matter experts, the ability to work across these diverse domains is essential. Good communication skills are vital as training and communicating knowledge to diverse audiences is a key part of this role.
The researcher will undertake research under the supervision and guidance of the project lead (GDI Hub’s Head of Research and Delivery). They will be responsible for research and analysis drawing on diverse research skills including policy review and strategy, desk reviews, qualitative, co-design and participatory methods, with the ability to extract key themes and provide actional insights.
Experience in and a passion for inclusive approaches to research with diverse user groups is key to this role. The researcher will be expected to be able to develop research protocols, instruments and methodologies to suit project needs, ranging from academic to consultancy-based research. Experience in academic research, including acquiring ethical approval, managing data and analysis and drafting quality academic papers would be an advantage. Communicating with diverse audiences through the preparation of presentations for clients and events, report and paper writing will be a large part of this role.
Translating knowledge into practice, technical assistance to climate projects, developing and supporting delivery of training on inclusive climate innovation, managing clients and networks of innovators and experts will form part of the role.
The researcher will support advocacy, communications and external engagement, promoting the work under their remit, including at key conferences and events, including UN climate events. They will also support the publication of papers aligned to the research and delivery to further increase the reach and impact of the work and seek to instil academic rigour as appropriate.

Job Title: Project Coordinator
Salary:£26,000 + 5% pension contribution (above Living Wage)
Hours of work:Part-time, 21 hrs a week. Work flexibly over 5 days – negotiable.
Contract length: One year (subject to extension)
Holidays:Starts at 28 days + bank holidays +3 days for Christmas (pro-rata)

The role
The post of Project Coordinator is critical to the work we do and this is a great opportunity to make a real difference to improve health and care services and make them work better for the patients and local people of our city.
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a variety of patient-focused projects on different topics, against quality, time and cost constraints. You will manage projects from inception to delivery including publicising, following up on any recommendations, and promoting the impact that we make. As we are a small team you will also be expected to contribute collectively to a shared workload to keep the team working effectively.
Some of the projects which Healthwatch Brighton and Hove projects have delivered in the last year include:
- Improving home care services
- Improving dementia services
- Improving maternity services
- Tackling health inequalities
We have a strong team of employees and volunteers and you will be supported by our Head of Research and CEO.
Work Location
Our office is at Community Base, 113 Queens Road, Brighton. We’re a home-based team, but hold team meetings at the office every Monday and you will be expected to work in the office on this day. There is also an option of office working on Thursday and hot-desking in either the office or Community Works’ office space on other days.
We will provide line management, technology and equipment support to enable home working. Applicants must be prepared to undertake this role in either form of work setting.
Main responsibilities and duties:
1. To be responsible for all aspects of planning and delivering a portfolio of time-limited projects. Typically, this will include:
- scoping evidence-backed projects which support our wider strategic aims
- contributing to written project plans
- Using Excel or SPSS to analyse data
- leading on undertaking service review fieldwork including interviews, ‘Enter and View’ visits (where we visit services in person) and Mystery Shops of our local hospitals
- supporting others e.g. volunteers and other members of the team to undertake fieldwork
- drafting clear, well-written and evidence-backed reports
- developing workable recommendations
- presenting findings at internal and external meetings
- delivering promotional and publicity materials to support projects
- working in partnership with other groups to deliver projects.
- All of the above will be carried out with the support of the Head of Research.
2. Proactively undertake any duties that assist with the smooth running of Healthwatch Brighton and Hove e.g. representing the organisation at meetings with a wide variety of stakeholders including the NHS, City Council, voluntary and community sector partners, taking part in promotional events, leading and supporting volunteers in project and representative work. This post will shadow other Project Coordinator’s before attending meetings alone.
3. To take shared responsibility with the rest of the team for developing and delivering the Healthwatch Brighton and Hove workplan.
4. Managing specific pieces of routine work that support the work of Healthwatch Brighton and Hove. Examples may include, supporting the production of an annual report, contributing to newsletters, helping to maintain our social media presence and updating our web site, etc.
5. Undertake other duties as may be appropriate to the role, in accordance with the values, policies and procedures of Healthwatch Brighton and Hove as well as the ‘Ways of Working’ statement attached to this Job Description.

Essential
Experience
- Experience gained from work or personal experience of delivering and planning small-scale time-limited projects to deadline and/or budget
- Experience of reviewing services and/or conducting research fieldwork (planning and delivering research)
- Experience of project management and project planning
- Experience of preparing and presenting written reports that include detailed information to a diverse range of audiences.
Knowledge
- Good understanding of equality and diversity issues, including empowering people and groups less visible in decision making
- An awareness of the health and social care issues affecting people who live in Brighton and Hove
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Good IT skills including experience of Office, Excel, Outlook, Access, the Internet and social media.

- Experience of working in health, social care or a consumer representative role
- Publicity, marketing and communications experience
- Knowledge of best practice in research, reviewing the performance of health and care services
Contra-indicators
Any previous convictions which would render the person unsuitable to work with vulnerable people or enter premises where vulnerable people are being cared for.
