This is a new role, to expand and enhance our policy and evidence work in support of the Trust’s strategic goals so that we can demonstrate the impact of our programmes and provide the evidence for effective campaigns on key decisions for nature.
What you will be doing:

Expand and improve impact measurement across the trust, and report on our impact to trustees and to partners.

Represent SWT in the development of Shropshire’s local nature recovery strategy and nature recovery network.

Lead on evidence-based campaigns on key regional issues, and support campaigns at national level.

Oversee the development of SWT’s geographical information systems (GIS) and databases as part of the national digital strategy.

Help the Trust to achieve net-zero by 2030 and inspire others to do the same.

Respond to significant planning applications.

Refine and embed SWT’s ‘theory of change’.
What we’re looking for:

Strong analytical skills, including a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research, are essential.

The ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments, and with external partners, is essential.

Significant knowledge of conservation, ecology, climate and/or public health policy are desirable.

Experience of strategic planning including the use of theory of change is desirable.

Director of Professional Standards

Reporting to the Chief Executive, and forming a central part of our Senior Management Team, we are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to take on the post of Director of Professional Standards. The successful candidate will lead a wider portfolio of responsibilities including accountability for overseeing first class education and training for psychiatrists, promoting recruitment and retention into the psychiatric workforce and leading on the College’s international workstreams.
The successful candidate must bring with them experience of leadership gained within a comparably complex membership organisation, with recognised expertise in delivering first class professional education and membership support. We will need you to take a lead on evaluating the impact of each phase and use that information to shape the next. The campaign will have both online and offline activity and lots of moving parts, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

- Work collaboratively across Scope to deliver our general election campaign, and help us make sure disabled people’s voices are heard by Government and politicians.
- Work closely with our National Campaigns Officer, and manage our Campaigns Assistant
- Play a key role in the delivery of the campaign, from developing assets to determining the best tactics for each phase.

The Role
The Philanthropy & Research Manager will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy to deliver on their ambitious strategy. This person will help cultivate a pipeline of ideas and manage a concentrated portfolio of philanthropic partnerships for the long-term. They will contribute to the portfolio by conducting deep, critical research in line with the inthallo’s unique approach and criteria. This will involve applying due diligence by prioritising qualitative factors and building purposeful relationships to deliver mutually beneficial engagement plans. The approach focuses on the identification of organisations with a unique, scalable offering and the potential to deliver transformational societal returns. In addition to this, this person will conduct sector specific or thematic research projects and share them with the wider team to contribute to the learning of the whole organisation.
The Person
We are looking for critical research ability, proven potential to grow, and an intellectually curious mindset. These traits are essential to success in this role, more so, than very specific backgrounds. Previous research experience in an analytical capacity is a definite a plus.
This person will have substantial experience (3-5 years) of working in environments such as philanthropy, either within grant making through family, corporate or independent foundations or possibly within the corporate or investment world where social impact and transformational change is the end goal. We welcome applications from other sectors where the person has had to conduct quantitative and qualitative research and appraise projects.

Victim Support is looking to recruit a Research & Lived Experience Officer (RLEO), with a background in research and/or in coordinating a lived-experience forum, to lead on a project to provide feedback and insight on products related to victims. About the Role:
Victim Support (VS) is the leading independent charity in England and Wales for people who have been affected by crime and traumatic incidents. Understanding the experience and needs of victims and witnesses of crime is central to the charities' aims and vision.
As a Research & Lived Experience Officer you will have the opportunity to capture the voice of victims and promote evidence based recommendations to improve the experience of victims in the criminal justice system. You will be a part of a small but enthusiastic research team, while also having the opportunity to lead your own project.
You will have the opportunity to recruit participants and manage a Lived Experience Engagement Forum, and to regularly engage, build and maintain close relationships with the forum's participants. You will also need to conduct workshops/focus groups to collect feedback and insights from the participants on various products and procedures, and produce summaries of this feedback.
To be successful in the role you will need to have proven experience in recruiting vulnerable people to take part in research activities and conducting workshops or focus groups and interviews. Experience in writing and analysing surveys is an advantage. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently, as well as experience of working in partnership with various stakeholders. Having knowledge of victims of crime is desirable, but not essential.

You’ll spend your time:

About the role
As Senior Health Officer: Knowledge Management and Communication, you will be responsible for the knowledge management and MEAL functions for the health team. This will include collection, collation and dissemination of learning and evidence from across key country and donor markets. You will also be responsible for the dissemination and communication through various platforms, social media outlets. Within this role you will play a key role in highlighting both internally and externally the health team's achievements and keep the Movement updated on the impact they have had both in the UK and globally, while also reporting on all active grants and partnerships. You will get to work closely with all technical advisors and play an important role in the production of the team's publications as well as in organising policy advocacy events at the UK parliamentary and global levels.
In this role, you will:
- Lead on the learning, reporting and communications for the health team, including on the various advocacy projects, grants and workstreams.
- Play a leading role in editing the health team's reports and policy briefing documents, including any research, fact-checking or writing that is required.
- Lead on updating and maintaining the health team's web pages. While maintaining brand requirements.
- Deliver high-quality editorial content for a wide range of planned key corporate communications, in line with the organisation's priorities and brand, implementing Save the Children's editorial style and standards.
- Ensure health team develop quality materials, blogs and thought pieces, while implementing our brand positioning, communications guidelines, and house style.
About you
To be successful, it is important that you have:
- Demonstrable experience of high-quality health policy advocacy work, including writing and editorial skills.

About Bite Back 2030
We’re surrounded by junk food. From the moment we're born, every second of every day, children are being targeted. Giant companies manipulate them with colourful, cuddly, clever marketing, deceive them with packaging claims and pump products at them that are full of junk. It's become the cultural wallpaper. Now, it risks endangering the health of a generation.
In the UK, nearly a third of children aged 2-15 face a higher risk of food-related ill health in their futures. The good news is, it's preventable. And we're biting back.
Bite Back is a youth activist movement challenging a food system that's been set up to fool us all by:
1) Calling out the manipulation of the junk food giants.
2) Demanding higher standards from food marketing and from everyday food itself.
3) Mobilising and equipping young people in the fight for better food.
We do all this so we can bite back against a global epidemic of food-related ill health.
About Bite Back in Schools
Bite Back has delivered our youth social action programme — Bite Back in Schools— to over 120 schools over the last two years. Working with secondary schools, we have supported over 2,000 11-14 year olds to plan and deliver social action projects to prioritise child health by improving their school food. This could be by making nutritious and sustainable food the norm by increasing the flow of healthy options in their canteens, or by redesigning the school food experience to put healthy options in the spotlight.
With funding awarded from the #iWill Fund, we are recruiting a brilliant cohort of schools who will join the programme in September 2024. Our programme model combines an assembly delivered by a Bite Back young ambassador, five hours of curriculum time sessions for a whole year group, and our ever-popular and impactful School Food Champions (SFC) extra-curricular club. Role Description
The Programmes Manager plays a key role supporting our community of schools during their time on the programme. They will support the design and lead on the delivery of Bite Back in Schools to ensure the best possible user experience for young people, their teachers and their schools, and to ensure the programme makes the greatest possible impact.
The Programmes Manager will report to the Head of Programmes, and will work closely with colleagues across Bite Back, in particular with our comms, digital, youth and policy teams, working within our Strategy and Delivery Function.
Key responsibilities include:
Relationship management
-
Provide ongoing support to schools throughout their time on the programme, building strong working relationships with participating schools.

Lead communication with all schools, being the first point of contact for the coordinator and lead teacher in each school.

Support monitoring and evaluation through creation of surveys, ensuring completion of baseline and end of year surveys, and analysis of data submitted (in partnership with our external evaluators).

Book and arrange assemblies, coordinating between schools and our Bite Back Ambassadors.
Community management
-
Celebrate and share examples of best practice and impactful social action projects amongst our community of schools.

Design and deliver training and webinars for schools.

Lead on the design and delivery of competitions for schools.

Schedule and organise visits to schools, agreeing agendas with the schools in advance to include elements including meeting pupils and teachers, leading feedback sessions and focus groups and supporting the development of their social action campaigns.

Drafting of termly newsletters and regular emails to schools.

Create case studies and collate material to share with our comms and digital teams.

Encourage teachers and pupils to use the new Bite Back digital platform to share their stories and projects, and take part in broader Bite Back campaigns.

Grow our movement - supporting the recruitment of future cohorts by promoting the Bite Back in Schools programme, distributing recruitment comms, holding set up calls with interested schools, and guiding schools through the application and enrolment process, working closely with the Head of Programmes on the design of these processes.
Project management of systems and operational support

Manage the SFC inbox, dealing with enquiries from schools and other partners.

Process invoices related to the programme, liaising between schools and the Bite Back accounts team, and monitoring the monthly total payments made to schools.

Manage the budget for specific areas of programme expenditure, such as merchandise and Ambassador training.

Creating and uploading new high quality session plans, resources and materials to our digital platform as required.

Design and maintain reporting systems to monitor levels of engagement of individual schools, flagging concerns and proactively finding ways to mitigate issues to ensure schools remain on the programme.

Management of programmes section of Bite Back CRM system, keeping data up to date and accurate, and developing reports to share programme data with team and funders.
Programme design and improvement

Identifying opportunities to optimise the potential of our programmes and proactively making suggestions for continuous improvement to our user experience, programme design and systems.

Proactively seek feedback on customer satisfaction, impact and service improvement and use this to inform suggestions for improvements.

Feed your ideas into programme delivery and development.

Support new pilots and interventions, including testing innovative ideas on the ground, as requested to enable Bite Back to develop our suite of programmes and maximise opportunities for new work to further our mission across the school sector.
