Aquarius is a charity that helps people and communities overcome the harm caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. Right now, we’re looking for someone like you to join our Bedfordshire Young People’s Team. We’re here to support anyone under 18 in Bedfordshire who is affected by substance misuse. Many of the children and young people we work with are also facing other challenges, such as school exclusion, homelessness, mental health, unemployment, or experience of the care system. 

Your challenge? To undertake a portfolio of cases, generally incorporating the more complex situations, and deputise for Service Managers as and when required. Supervising the work of Practitioners and Support Workers will be important too, as will prioritising activities and monitoring service delivery, outputs and outcomes and providing guidance, training and clinical supervision. And, all the while, we’ll expect you to work in a way that recognises and values diversity and make the most of your understanding of the functional model of alcohol, the model of change and CBT. 

An energetic and confident self‐starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community care (e.g. NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care or equivalent. You should also have experience of partnership working as well as the ability to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders from a wide range of services and disciplines. Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Engagement Practitioner to lead a team of Practitioners. This a a dedicated service that focuses on empowering clients to achieve socio-economic goals with clear mental health and wellbeing benefits.

The role will carry an active caseload supporting access into services appropriate to their level of need, with a focus on recovery and independence, and improve self-management of their wellbeing through intensive support. CEPs will support the core community mental health teams working in alignment with Primary Care Networks as part of the new model.

We’re recruiting experienced Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join our WithYou NHS Talking Therapies service in Kent to provide high volume low intensity interventions based on self management interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression, deliver computerised CBT through Silvercloud and carrying out patient centred assessments. To apply for this role, you should have, or be soon to complete training in CBT based low intensity interventions and hold BABCP or BPS accreditation (or eligibility towards obtaining the Accreditation). We are looking for an individual with previous experience of carrying out assessments related to mental health and working with clients experiencing anxiety and depression, in a Talking Therapies service.

Aquarius helps young people aged 5-18 overcome the harm caused by drugs and alcohol by working closely with the individual, family members and other professionals.  But it’s only possible with people like you.

Right now, our Bedfordshire Young People’s service is looking for a Complex Needs Practitioner to join the team. This role will be in partnership with Bedfordshire Youth Offending Service and will require some co-location from the Youth Offending Offices around Bedfordshire to be an integral part of both teams.

Your challenge? To provide information and advice, brief interventions and long term structured support to young people who are using drugs and alcohol or being impacted by someone else’s use.  You will be conducting assessments, risk assessments, care-planning and working directly with other services such as schools, social care, health provisions, alternative education providers and mental health services.The successful candidate must have exceptional organisational skills and the ability to work with other agencies both face to face, email and via telephone.

REQUIRED SKILLS

We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment. We also support people to retain their employment when they are struggling at work due to their mental health. We also advise and support employers about mental health in the workplace. But, it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate work experience placements with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with partner organisations, local employers and Mental Health teams and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.

NHS England recently announced a new transformation fund to be allocated to pilot sites within 12 Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships/Integrated Care Systems across the country to test new and integrated models of primary and community mental health care. The Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership in Redhill is one of these successful pilot sites, and Richmond Fellowship are proud to be part of that partnership.

The role of Community Connector is fundamental to the developing of these innovative new teams and mental health services based within networks of GP Practices (Primary Care Networks). Indeed, whoever takes on this particular challenge will be instrumental in supporting the ongoing development and mobilisation of integrated primary care mental health services in the future. Along the way, you’ll work jointly with a Mental Health Practitioner to conduct assessments. We’ll also rely on you to help patients identify their socially determined needs and goals, provide self-management tools, and develop personal support plans. Delivering a range of motivational and structured psycho-social interventions, promoting independence through an enabling asset based approach and developing effective relationships with a range of agencies to facilitate a ‘joined up’ approach - these are just some aspects of this vital role.

As well as proven relevant experience, you’ll need an appropriate diploma or degree i.e., in counselling, psychology, social work, probation, mental health, Health and Social Care (level 3), NVQ’s level 3+ and/or community experience of drug, alcohol, mental health work. You’ll also need the ability to work co-operatively and flexible as part of a multidisciplinary team from a service hub in one of three locations and be willing to travel to and from a number of different locations on a daily basis. Comfortable working to the confidentiality, consent, information sharing and safeguarding policies of the integrated service, the ability to manage any challenging behaviour, anger and verbal aggression from patients is important too. The Junction is an out of hours “calming café” service which is open 365 days of the year to support people experiencing pre and/or mental health crisis. The aim of the project is to alleviate the need for people within the Swindon locality to access A&E and/or acute mental health services.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be providing a preventative, person centred approach to people accessing the service who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

The service is open from 4PM-11PM and there are positions available for part time hours and full time hours and  working patterns will include some weekends.

We are looking for a full time Peer Engagement Practitioner.

This is an innovative new service, integrating the expertise, skills and knowledge of the network in Barnet with NHS Mental Health services. The purpose of the role is to provide peer led psycho-social support to clients, working within specialist Mental Health teams and the VCS delivery partners. This role will also serve to enhance the work of the MH teams, and other practitioners within the service, to ensure it remains clients focused, recovery informed, and embedded with experience led practice.

Holder House is set in the leafy neighbourhood of Abingdon and provides care and support to 14 people from 18+ living with, and recovering from, enduring mental health issues. The Team Manager reports to and will be supported by the Registered Manager. 

As well as ensuring the quality of service and support provided to people who use our services, you will line manage front line staff and organise any building maintenance requirements. Whether you’re carrying out an induction, undertaking an investigation, putting team development plans in place or providing support to our business development team, one thing’s for sure – you won't be short of challenge and variety. We’re currently working towards being awarded ‘Outstanding’ at our next CQC inspection and you will play an integral part in helping us to achieve this.

Substantial experience gained managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as well as being outcome driven and able to lead by example using your firm but inclusive management style. You’re open and encouraging too and have lots of tact and diplomacy. What's more, you're great at managing conflicting priorities on time, have a flexible attitude to working hours and are willing to participate in on call arrangements. And, if you have experience of carrying out investigations, writing reports/recommendations or managing budgets, even better, although it's not essential as we offer an extensive induction and training programme for managers.

The service operates two sleep-ins per night (paid at £78.30 per 10-hour sleep-in) and an on-call rota (paid at £18.00) to cover a sleep-in/day shift in the event of absence – applicants should be flexible and available to cover sleep-ins and fill in on the on-call rota where needed.

About the Service 
Our Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways.

We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis centres, crisis cafes and a weekend Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Services are:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

About the Role 
Mental Healthcare Support Workers are key members of staff delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Service, taking part in a rota covering 7 days per week, ensuring the delivery of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the crisis cafe and helpline provision. Working closely with other staff (bank staff, volunteers), coordinators, team leaders and Crisis manager to ensure services are of the highest quality and support the continued growth and development of the service.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing emotional support and developing, alongside clients, flexible and realistic crisis support/person-centred plans within agreed guidelines with support from leadership team (including assessments of need, risk, crisis support plans and review forms), often where risks are significant.
• Liaising with statutory agencies to ensure appropriate intervention is obtained for individuals.
• Drawing upon own lived experience as appropriate to inform the delivery of person-centred support.
• Providing immediate advice and information to clients to support with crisis presentations.
• To support individuals both through telephone support (helpline) and face to face support (crisis café).
• Liaising with Nightlight management and external services e.g. police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental Health Services etc .as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
• Completing appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
• Supporting clients with making drinks and beverages as needed when visiting the crisis café.
• Assisting with housing keeping/cleaning tasks as necessary and reporting any maintenance problems.
• Contributing to the co-development of the service by supporting service user, family and carer involvement by obtaining feedback and supporting where necessary chances to be involved in wider service reviews.

Community Navigator (Mental Health)

This role is an opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Milton Keynes NHS mental health service for someone with experience working in health, social care or information and advice, in direct contact with service users.

Working alongside colleagues from Central Northwest London Foundation Trust (CNWL) this role will provide referral management to and from Secondary Services. This will include signposting patients to statutory services including talking therapies and wider community based & voluntary sector support.

The Community Navigator will work as part of the team to deliver on the aims and objectives of the Mental Health Hub whilst representing the Voluntary and Community sector with the NHS.

Service Delivery

• Work within the NHS Mental Health SPA (Single Point of Access) Team to review and process referrals received from GP Practices and other sources including those to be subsequently triaged and assessed by mental health practitioners.
• Actively call patients with a view to assisting them through the process and making their onward appointments into community or secondary care service providers.
• Support the hub to signpost patients and direct them to appropriate services including secondary care, the local Voluntary and Community sector services and activities that support the patients’ wider determinates of their mental health and wellbeing.
• Answer calls, ensure sufficient phone cover, respond to messages/voicemails, provide administrative support to the Mental Health SPA for all services and deal with queries in a sensitive and timely way liaising with clinical or team lead as is appropriate.
• Monitor service inboxes during core office hours, responding to any queries professionally providing helpful information.
• Monitor and action tasks within SystmOne and maintain records of all activities carried out, i.e. outbound calls, calls received, archiving any received correspondence.
• Build good working relationships with the voluntary and community sector, relevant services and activities to ensure signposting pathways are kept up to date as well navigating and developing the setup of new signposting pathways through networking.
• Provide clinical and non-clinical information in appropriate chronological templates to other services.
• Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).
• To bring VCSE experience, knowledge and culture into an NHS team.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the role of Service Lead.  This position will manage a team of around 20 Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs).  The role will be guided and supported by a Head of Services, as well as Twining’s established and experienced Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

THE ROLE – SERVICE LEAD

You will be responsible for the ongoing day to day leadership and management of the Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) in Talking Therapies service across Ealing, Harrow and Hounslow.

You will liaise with managers, clinicians and GPs across the NHS primary care pathways to ensure that services are coordinated and pathways into, and out of, the service are managed effectively and efficiently.

You will ensure the service operates in line with national guidance related to Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies and gives consideration to wider disability employment and retention support models, whilst striving to achieve and maintain national best practice in this field.

You will ensure the team develops in a manner that facilitates clients being referred to the service quickly, so they do not remain unsupported whilst on sick leave, and then support them to return to work swiftly (where appropriate), or to follow the destination that is best suited to their circumstances, enabling individuals to achieve positive service experience outcomes.

You will work in partnership with key stakeholders and contract managers.

This role will require someone experienced in leading the delivery of a mental health support programme, whilst managing and meeting commissioner performance expectations.

SERVICE LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. To develop and manage the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service, providing high quality, timely assessment and support interventions, including signposting for specialist external advice such as ACAS, welfare benefits advice, union or specialist employment law advice.

2. To have specialist knowledge and understanding of employment support and retention to be able to promote an early intervention model, which predominately focusing on supporting people into their preferred job choice, supporting them to remain in work, or enabling them to gain early access to advice and support to reduce the risk of not starting or losing their employment.

3. To manage the performance activity, data quality and service delivery of the team and ensure they provide an integrated and effective service.

4. To ensure the staff have an understanding of the process and philosophy of the positive benefits that work can have on an individual’s health, as well as understanding the benefit of early intervention and support for those at risk of losing their employment due to poor mental health, disabilities, health conditions or issues at work.

5. To oversee the development of new initiatives within the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service in line with national best practice and planning capacity for the team to meet the anticipated increases in demand for the service as a result of changes in the economy or incidence of poor mental health.

6. Ensure the service works within national and locally agreed frameworks and develop key performance indicators if none exist.

7. To ensure that the team has appropriate arrangements in place to guarantee that efficient, effective, equitable and economical services are provided to all clients.

8. To respond to complaints and suggestions from clients and carers in accordance with policies and procedures, and to participate as appropriate in the investigation of complaints, grievances, significant events and disciplinary manners in accordance with polices and present the outcome of the investigations to the relevant personnel.

9. To lead the team in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.

10. To monitor the workload and performance of team members using electronic systems to monitor performance.

11. Provide reports to senior managers and stakeholders regarding activity and exception reports for information.

12. To provide regular line management supervision to members of the team.

13. Ensure all team staff receive annual Appraisals and have personal development plans in place.

14. To participate in own Appraisal to ensure development and planning.

15. To agree and monitor explicit performance targets with staff relevant to service delivery.

16. To monitor staff sickness and absence and offer appropriate counselling or appropriate actions.

17. To recruit new staff to vacancies that may arise within the service.

18. To promote and foster good relations with other teams and agencies and stakeholders, ensuring that any issues are addressed at the earliest stage.

19. To ensure that full and appropriate use is made of information systems and that all relevant activity and intervention is recorded appropriately to enable access to information regarding individual clients and also aggregated data.

20. To attend regular management and planning meetings, workshops and conferences relating to health issues and employment, as appropriate.

21. To remain well informed about the national agenda for Employment and Retention, health and social care, and the economic picture.

22. To keep abreast with current best practice in the field and continue to foster a network of specialist support for those who are employed but need support.

23. To make presentations, where appropriate, to staff, clinical colleagues or management groups regarding current national or local issues.

24. To implement and support any performance management systems agreed by senior managers. To regularly monitor and audit systems and records to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.

25. To take note of and, where appropriate, act upon any external audits or reviews that are of relevance to the team.

26. To take responsibility for the efficient use of resources within the team.

27. Provide the team with specialist advice for more complex cases as required.

28. To undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post and as required by your manager.

THE ROLE – SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS

Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) will manage a team of Employment Advisers to provide supervision, training, caseload management, and role modelling best practice approaches to job retention. The SEA will play a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets the exacting standards of our commissioners and delivers positive outcomes for service users.

Providing vision and direction, you will lead the development of our network of relationships, building capacity and ensuring the success of our job retention services across all providers. Making sure our clients receive the best service to meet their needs, you will be comfortable in managing contracts against our agreed service objectives and performance outcomes. Uppermost in your mind, will be building strong collaborative working relationships in your community with our partners.

This role would ideally suit someone experienced in employment support and managing a small team, however, we will consider applicants with transferable skills from relevant fields (e.g. psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment).

SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Manage a high performance, quality-driven service. You will be required to lead by example in line with our values, motivate the team and demonstrate best practice principles of delivering a job retention service. This will include managing direct reports and working alongside managers and frontline staff and members of partner/commissioner organisations.

2. Deliver a role with a dual responsibility to clinical partners/therapeutic services and Twining, while complying with Twining’s internal procedures and all relationships, both internally and externally.

3. Monitor and manage performance of the Employment Advisors (EAs), carry out monthly 1-2-1 meetings, quarterly performance appraisal reviews, managing the full spectrum of employee relations issues, the wellbeing of your staff and guiding EAs both individually and collectively on the achievement of individual and team performance targets.

4. Manage a small caseload advising and supporting clients to address problems in the workplace to help them return to work, remain in work, or find new employment.

5. Submit accurate, timely monthly reports to the Service Lead and any other management information requested on the performance and delivery of the service.

6. Produce regular monitoring reports for external stakeholders, including commissioners.

7. Create a culture of continuous improvement, taking ownership for problems, adopting forward thinking strategies for improvement in everything we do and take the lead on making change happen.

8. Identify barriers for service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a high-performance service.

9. Identify, devise and lead on the training needs of staff and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional development.

10. Support the design and delivery of in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer learning and best practice).

11. Lead on presentations, network meetings, site meetings or any other people-facing activity required of the service.

12. Coordinate the work of EAs to build relationships with local employers to access the hidden labour market, external agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.

13. Provide solution focused monthly supervisions and case management for each EA as well as those with other providers/partners.

14. Guide, mentor and coach the EA team to deliver on objectives that will assist in helping a programme participant to return to work and decrease the likelihood of further absence in the future.

15. Ensure that client satisfaction is a high priority in everything we do and facilitate a range of opportunities for them to feedback on the service whether through surveys, interviews or other platforms and use the information gained to review and develop the service.

16. Involve service users in co-production of service developments where possible.

17. Meet with line managers from partner organisations to discuss and agree priorities and work plans.

18. Attend network meetings, or other partnership working and team meetings, as appropriate.

19. Develop relationships with local employers in order to promote good practice approaches to managing mental or physical health in the workplace.

20. Develop relationships with a range of external agencies that help individuals to achieve their employment goals.
