The Programme Manager will deliver a personal development journey to young people using snowsports as the hook to engage those who are less likely to engage with mainstream provision. We do this in partnership with youth projects and youth service providers across London, running snowsports youth programmes from The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead.
This is a really exciting opportunity to play a key role in Snow Camp’s development in London. Experience of working successfully with underserved young people in a range of settings will be essential to the post. Furthermore, experience within a snowsports field and passion for supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!
Project management, logistical skills, relationship management, communication and presentation skills will all make up the job. Along with youth work experience to deliver life-skills or group workshops to motivate young people to work towards meaningful goals – these will all make up the job.
This is a key post requiring at least 2 years’ experience involving the above skills, together with proven project management and budgeting experience.

Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.
We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with services users to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.
You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance misuse work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed supporting clients to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider drug strategy.
Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance misuse, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of our service users to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol misuse and individuals is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with clients on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

THE OPPORTUNITY

THE ROLE – EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS
The new Employment Advisors (EAs) will work within the West London NHS Talking Therapies provision. They will work one-to-one with a caseload of clients referred by NHS Talking Therapies therapists to find employment, remain in existing work if they are struggling, improve their working environment, return to work following sickness or positively leave or retire from work.
You will primarily fulfil these duties by providing information, as well as advice and guidance to clients who choose to receive employment support. The work should empower clients to make better decisions about their working lives, as well as communicate better with colleagues and managers in existing roles. You will also signpost clients to other relevant support agencies, as appropriate.
This role would suit someone with a background in employment support, psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment.
EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Engage a mixed caseload of clients at any given time serving 100-125 per year, with common mental health problems, to establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them to find new employment or support them in, or to leave, existing employment. Support will be provided face-to-face in Talking Therapies settings, via secure online meeting platforms or over the telephone.
2. Along with their NHS clinician, assess clients’ support needs with a view to creating, implementing, and adjusting a personalised action plan to help improve clients’ mental health and achieve their stated employment goals.
3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to support clients to find work, including career guidance, job searching skills, CV preparation, application form completion, interview skills, advice on local labour market opportunities and advice on education and training to further their career.
4. Provide guidance to support clients to stay in existing work, including advice on mental health disclosure, negotiating reasonable adjustments to existing workplaces, creating wellness action plans, and improving productivity, support to return to work after sickness absence or to leave an existing role with dignity, and signpost clients to organisations that can represent them (EAs should only look to represent clients in exceptional circumstances).
5. Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.
6. Work directly with partners like Jobcentre Plus, other employment providers, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to support clients to stay in employment and secure employment opportunities.
7. Build a constant flow of referrals from the clinical team to ensure a dynamic and mixed caseload.
8. Meet referral and performance targets in line with the specific KPI / SLA requirements of the service.
9. Regularly attend team and other meetings as reasonably expected.
10. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.
11. Update and maintain NHS database (IAPTUS).
12. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.
13. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.

EAs are part of the iCope team and work alongside therapists to provide employment support to help iCope clients remain in work, return to work, or find employment. Overall aim
iCope (Talking Therapies) is an NHS Programme that provides evidence based psychological therapies to treat people with mild to moderate and moderate to severe depression and anxiety disorders.

The Salvation Army are partnering with the University of Stirling via the Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research to deliver a trial for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This unique and innovative social care trial will examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of a Peer Navigator/peer support intervention for people experiencing homelessness and problems with substance use. We are now looking for a Peer Navigator (lived experience practitioner) within our Homelessness service to deliver a relationship-based intervention to those experiencing drug and alcohol problems and homelessness, providing both practical and emotional support.

- Genuine compassion and non-judgemental attitude for people in need with challenging lives.
- Knowledge of the main support needs of people experiencing homelessness and other forms of vulnerability, including problem substance use and challenges with the welfare benefit system.

THE ROLE – SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS
Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) will manage a team of Employment Advisers to provide supervision, training, caseload management, and role modelling best practice approaches to job retention. The SEA will play a pivotal role in managing a high-quality service that meets the exacting standards of our commissioners and delivers positive outcomes for service users.
Providing vision and direction, you will lead the development of our network of relationships, building capacity and ensuring the success of our job retention services across all providers. Making sure our clients receive the best service to meet their needs, you will be comfortable in managing contracts against our agreed service objectives and performance outcomes. Uppermost in your mind, will be building strong collaborative working relationships in your community with our partners.
This role would ideally suit someone experienced in employment support and managing a small team, however, we will consider applicants with transferable skills from relevant fields (e.g. psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment).
SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Manage a high performance, quality-driven service. You will be required to lead by example in line with our values, motivate the team and demonstrate best practice principles of delivering a job retention service. This will include managing direct reports and working alongside managers and frontline staff and members of partner/commissioner organisations.
2. Deliver a role with a dual responsibility to clinical partners/therapeutic services and Twining, while complying with Twining’s internal procedures and all relationships, both internally and externally.
3. Monitor and manage performance of the Employment Advisors (EAs), carry out monthly 1-2-1 meetings, quarterly performance appraisal reviews, managing the full spectrum of employee relations issues, the wellbeing of your staff and guiding EAs both individually and collectively on the achievement of individual and team performance targets.
4. Manage a small caseload advising and supporting clients to address problems in the workplace to help them return to work, remain in work, or find new employment.
5. Submit accurate, timely monthly reports to the Service Lead and any other management information requested on the performance and delivery of the service.
6. Produce regular monitoring reports for external stakeholders, including commissioners.
7. Create a culture of continuous improvement, taking ownership for problems, adopting forward thinking strategies for improvement in everything we do and take the lead on making change happen.
8. Identify barriers for service excellence and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement solutions to ensure a high-performance service.
9. Identify, devise and lead on the training needs of staff and arrange appropriate training to support with continuous professional development.
10. Support the design and delivery of in-house staff training and development (including facilitating peer learning and best practice).
11. Lead on presentations, network meetings, site meetings or any other people-facing activity required of the service.
12. Coordinate the work of EAs to build relationships with local employers to access the hidden labour market, external agencies and delivery of job seeking groups.
13. Provide solution focused monthly supervisions and case management for each EA as well as those with other providers/partners.
14. Guide, mentor and coach the EA team to deliver on objectives that will assist in helping a programme participant to return to work and decrease the likelihood of further absence in the future.
15. Ensure that client satisfaction is a high priority in everything we do and facilitate a range of opportunities for them to feedback on the service whether through surveys, interviews or other platforms and use the information gained to review and develop the service.
16. Involve service users in co-production of service developments where possible.
17. Meet with line managers from partner organisations to discuss and agree priorities and work plans.
18. Attend network meetings, or other partnership working and team meetings, as appropriate.

This is a demanding, yet hugely fulfilling new post in which the post holder will have overall responsibilty for the management and day to day operations of our new mobile support van. A large proportion of the post holder's time will be spent taking the van along with a team of volunteers on outreach to where there are survivors of sex trafficking. Our immediate priority area is Bedford. This will involve driving to sites of sexual exploitation and trafficking, such as the streets, properties used as brothels, airports and other places, as necessary. The post holder will lead outreach sessions supported by trained volunteers, in partnership with Bedfordshire Police and UK Border Force. The post holder will be a part of Azalea's frontline team (we call this Encompass) and will work with them to offer survivors of sex trafficking crisis intervention and ongoing support. The nature of this form of outreach will require the post holder to work flexible and unsociable hours (37.5 hours per week), however Azalea offers a generous annual leave allowance. Since this is a new role, the post holder will be required to use their initiative and draw on the knowledge and experience of the team to develop a full-time operational plan for the support van.

As an Employment Coach with our Employcare Project you will be supporting unpaid carers living in Manchester; providing support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid employment or voluntary roles. The successful candidates will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training. You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are now inviting suitable candidates to apply for the role of Service Lead. This position will manage a team of around 20 Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs). The role will be guided and supported by a Head of Services, as well as Twining’s established and experienced Senior Leadership Team and Trustees.

THE ROLE – SERVICE LEAD
You will be responsible for the ongoing day to day leadership and management of the Employment Advisors (EAs) and Senior Employment Advisors (SEAs) in Talking Therapies service across Ealing, Harrow and Hounslow.
You will liaise with managers, clinicians and GPs across the NHS primary care pathways to ensure that services are coordinated and pathways into, and out of, the service are managed effectively and efficiently.
You will ensure the service operates in line with national guidance related to Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies and gives consideration to wider disability employment and retention support models, whilst striving to achieve and maintain national best practice in this field.
You will ensure the team develops in a manner that facilitates clients being referred to the service quickly, so they do not remain unsupported whilst on sick leave, and then support them to return to work swiftly (where appropriate), or to follow the destination that is best suited to their circumstances, enabling individuals to achieve positive service experience outcomes.
You will work in partnership with key stakeholders and contract managers.
This role will require someone experienced in leading the delivery of a mental health support programme, whilst managing and meeting commissioner performance expectations.
SERVICE LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. To develop and manage the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service, providing high quality, timely assessment and support interventions, including signposting for specialist external advice such as ACAS, welfare benefits advice, union or specialist employment law advice.
2. To have specialist knowledge and understanding of employment support and retention to be able to promote an early intervention model, which predominately focusing on supporting people into their preferred job choice, supporting them to remain in work, or enabling them to gain early access to advice and support to reduce the risk of not starting or losing their employment.
3. To manage the performance activity, data quality and service delivery of the team and ensure they provide an integrated and effective service.
4. To ensure the staff have an understanding of the process and philosophy of the positive benefits that work can have on an individual’s health, as well as understanding the benefit of early intervention and support for those at risk of losing their employment due to poor mental health, disabilities, health conditions or issues at work.
5. To oversee the development of new initiatives within the Employment Advisors in Talking Therapies Service in line with national best practice and planning capacity for the team to meet the anticipated increases in demand for the service as a result of changes in the economy or incidence of poor mental health.
6. Ensure the service works within national and locally agreed frameworks and develop key performance indicators if none exist.
7. To ensure that the team has appropriate arrangements in place to guarantee that efficient, effective, equitable and economical services are provided to all clients.
8. To respond to complaints and suggestions from clients and carers in accordance with policies and procedures, and to participate as appropriate in the investigation of complaints, grievances, significant events and disciplinary manners in accordance with polices and present the outcome of the investigations to the relevant personnel.
9. To lead the team in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
10. To monitor the workload and performance of team members using electronic systems to monitor performance.
11. Provide reports to senior managers and stakeholders regarding activity and exception reports for information.
12. To provide regular line management supervision to members of the team.
13. Ensure all team staff receive annual Appraisals and have personal development plans in place.
14. To participate in own Appraisal to ensure development and planning.
15. To agree and monitor explicit performance targets with staff relevant to service delivery.
16. To monitor staff sickness and absence and offer appropriate counselling or appropriate actions.
17. To recruit new staff to vacancies that may arise within the service.
18. To promote and foster good relations with other teams and agencies and stakeholders, ensuring that any issues are addressed at the earliest stage.
19. To ensure that full and appropriate use is made of information systems and that all relevant activity and intervention is recorded appropriately to enable access to information regarding individual clients and also aggregated data.
20. To attend regular management and planning meetings, workshops and conferences relating to health issues and employment, as appropriate.
21. To remain well informed about the national agenda for Employment and Retention, health and social care, and the economic picture.
22. To keep abreast with current best practice in the field and continue to foster a network of specialist support for those who are employed but need support.
23. To make presentations, where appropriate, to staff, clinical colleagues or management groups regarding current national or local issues.
24. To implement and support any performance management systems agreed by senior managers. To regularly monitor and audit systems and records to ensure compliance with procedures and standards.
25. To take note of and, where appropriate, act upon any external audits or reviews that are of relevance to the team.
26. To take responsibility for the efficient use of resources within the team.
27. Provide the team with specialist advice for more complex cases as required.
28. To undertake any other duties of a similar nature consistent with the responsibilities of this post and as required by your manager.
The role holder must also:
1. Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level.
2. Possess excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software, as well as experience updating and maintaining databases.
3. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service performance requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.
4. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.
5. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.

This role is an opportunity to work for Mind BLMK as part of the Milton Keynes NHS mental health service for someone with experience working in health, social care or information and advice, in direct contact with service users.
Working alongside colleagues from Central Northwest London Foundation Trust (CNWL) this role will provide referral management to and from Secondary Services. This will include signposting patients to statutory services including talking therapies and wider community based & voluntary sector support.
The Community Navigator will work as part of the team to deliver on the aims and objectives of the Mental Health Hub whilst representing the Voluntary and Community sector with the NHS.
Service Delivery
- Work within the NHS Mental Health SPA (Single Point of Access) Team to review and process referrals received from GP Practices and other sources including those to be subsequently triaged and assessed by mental health practitioners.
- Actively call patients with a view to assisting them through the process and making their onward appointments into community or secondary care service providers.
- Support the hub to signpost patients and direct them to appropriate services including secondary care, the local Voluntary and Community sector services and activities that support the patients’ wider determinates of their mental health and wellbeing.
- Answer calls, ensure sufficient phone cover, respond to messages/voicemails, provide administrative support to the Mental Health SPA for all services and deal with queries in a sensitive and timely way liaising with clinical or team lead as is appropriate.
- Monitor service inboxes during core office hours, responding to any queries professionally providing helpful information.
- Monitor and action tasks within SystmOne and maintain records of all activities carried out, i.e. outbound calls, calls received, archiving any received correspondence.
- Build good working relationships with the voluntary and community sector, relevant services and activities to ensure signposting pathways are kept up to date as well navigating and developing the setup of new signposting pathways through networking.
- Provide clinical and non-clinical information in appropriate chronological templates to other services.
- Carry out health and safety responsibilities as directed by Managers in line with Mind BLMK’s H&S policies, procedures, and guidance (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises).
- To bring VCSE experience, knowledge and culture into an NHS team.

The Salvation Army are partnering with the University of Stirling via the Salvation Army Centre for Addiction Services and Research to deliver a trial for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This unique and innovative social care trial will examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of a Peer Navigator/peer support intervention for people experiencing homelessness and problems with substance use. We are now looking for a Peer Navigator (lived experience practitioner) within our Homelessness service to deliver a relationship-based intervention to those experiencing drug and alcohol problems and homelessness, providing both practical and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities: The role of Peer Navigator (Lived Experience Practitioner) is fundamental to The Salvation Army’s desire to help vulnerable clients achieve positive outcomes and as such you will be passionate, target driven, dynamic and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of services for vulnerable clients in a competitive climate. You will also champion excellence in terms of ensuring our clients are central to our services and successful individual outcomes are achieved.
There is a requirement to work flexibly to meet the needs of participants/client, due to the nature of this particular role, including the outreach element. The usual pattern of work will be Monday-Friday with hours between 8am-6pm. However, some working outside these hours may be requested, depending on the needs of the people you will be supporting. Work life balance will be taken into consideration and individual needs can be discussed with line managers.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
- Their own personal (not family related) experience of homelessness and/or problem alcohol/drug use.
- A passion for supporting vulnerable people, with strong previous experience of working successfully in a similar role, and good knowledge of drug and alcohol issues including harm reduction models.
- Genuine compassion and non-judgemental attitude for people in need with challenging lives.
- Knowledge of the main support needs of people experiencing homelessness and other forms of vulnerability, including problem substance use and challenges with the welfare benefit system.
Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK and Enhanced with the barred list DBS adult workforce Disclosure check.
