This is a senior communications and public affairs role at The British Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) at a pivotal moment for human rights in the UK. You will help shape public and political narratives about the Human Rights Act, amplify lived experience, and ensure BIHR’s expertise cuts through in national debates.

You will lead BIHR’s external communications -  including media, digital content, and website oversight – and support evidence‑informed policy positioning and parliamentary engagement. Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you’ll transform insights from our programmes into powerful, accessible messaging and high‑impact advocacy.

 Stakeholder Engagement & Representation

• Build and sustain partnerships with NGOs, academics, policymakers, legal professionals, civil servants, and parliamentarians.

The Trustees of John Wesley’s New Room seek an Executive Director to lead the organisation into the next exciting phase of its development. This role will suit someone who is a generalist, comfortable turning their hand to a variety of tasks and is equally happy contributing at a board meeting or engaging with visitors in the chapel. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills who can lead the staff and volunteers with confidence, cultivate a positive working culture, develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders and provide strategic leadership for the next phase of John Wesley’s New Room.

Our small staff team has undergone significant change in the past year to align with the future needs of the organisation. The Trustees expect this to continue in support of the newly refreshed strategy which will see a greater role for JWNR nationally and internationally, as well as playing an increasing role in the new Broadmead community following the anticipated redevelopment works in the local area, from retail to a more mixed residential and leisure offering. Having finalised a vision, we are looking for someone to lead the organisation through this change, laying a solid foundation on a practical and cultural level to then build upon for the future, creating more links with local communities as well as the wider Methodist church.

John Wesley’s New Room is the oldest Methodist building in the world (Grade I listed) and is a small but busy place where no two days are the same. Offering a chapel, museum and cafe by day, we also have meetings rooms and event spaces for hire, and welcome visitors both local and international on a regular basis. An important piece of Bristol’s history, the New Room is where Methodism started and the museum and collection tell the story of John Wesley. Role purpose

Variety, the Children’s Charity is looking for a Head of People and Culture to lead and deliver all aspects of the charity’s people strategy. Part of the Operations Team, this is an exciting role combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational HR management. The postholder will be experienced in driving forward new strategies, ensuring Variety has robust, compliant and people centered practices in place. This is a new role at Variety during an exciting time as we develop and launch a new three-year strategy later this year and invest in our people and culture. Strategy and Performance

This role will:

• Develop and implement a People and Culture Strategy aligned with Variety’s new three-year organisational strategy

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to help grow our influence in the policy and public affairs space, and ultimately improve outcomes for younger people with breast cancer. 

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will sit within the CoppaFeel! Policy and Influencing team within the Education department and will work closely with the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager. They will support the implementation of our policy and influencing strategy that aims to build our policy expertise, influence the debate, grow our networks and drive system change. 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week (though we are open to flexible arrangements). You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes. 

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months.

• Research policy areas to support CoppaFeel!’s evidence-based policy work
• Monitor key policy developments in breast cancer and younger people

About the role:

At the Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year. We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. We also carry out ongoing research, in partnership with disabled people and key stakeholders in the industry, to inspire innovations that continue to champion accessible transport for all.

As Insight Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of insight and evidence across the Insight Team, helping to ensure that research outputs are timely, accessible and well used across the organisation.

What you will be doing:

Working closely with your colleagues in the Insight Team, you’ll contribute to research delivery, rapid evidence reviews and executive-style insight summaries.  You’ll also support the coordination of research activity and help maintain shared evidence resources that underpin organisational learning and decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Producing clear and concise insight summaries and rapid evidence reviews to support policy, strategy and operational decision-making

· Analysing primary qualitative and quantitative research data (e.g. survey datasets, interviews and focus groups), under the guidance of Research Managers

· Accurately summarising research findings, identifying key themes and patterns, and drafting structured outputs for review

· Supporting the delivery of research projects across the Insight Team, including contributing to research tools, data collection and reporting

· Acting as a first point of contact for routine research queries and supporting the quality assurance of small-scale research activity

· Supporting the coordination and organisation of research activity across the Insight team, including maintaining process maps and research pipeline summaries, tracking outputs and maintaining documentation.

The Finance & Compliance Officer will typically report to Finance Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Financial Management & Accounting (UK charity context)

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with UK charity good practice and organisational financial policies.

• Manage the general ledger, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll journals, and bank transactions.

• Process payments in a timely manner to internal and external stakeholders (team members, suppliers, partners, consultants), ensuring appropriate approvals, documentation, and compliance with delegated authority.

• Record and monitor income and expenditure, ensuring accurate project coding and fund allocation.

• Prepare monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, deferred income and inter-fund adjustments.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and full balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all control accounts are supported.

• Raise and process invoices where required (including consultant invoicing), and coordinate internal approval workflows for payment processing.

• Maintain and regularly update the medical insurance tracker and supplier payment tracker.

• Monitor and follow up on partnership (sub-grantee) agreements and payments, as well as programme consultancy trackers, ensuring financial accuracy and completeness.

• Support cashflow monitoring and short-term/medium-term cash forecasting; flag risks and timing issues proactively.

• Integrate monthly payroll journals into the accounting system and reconcile payroll control accounts.

• Support VAT preparation work and provide documentation for advisors

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Project Finance

• Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of annual organisational budgets and project budgets, including proposal costings and budget revisions as needed.

• Support with the preparation of management reporting packs for budget holders (actual vs budget vs forecast), with variance analysis and explanatory commentary.

• Support cross-departmental budget coordination to ensure compliance with donor agreements and funding conditions.

• Maintain and support the Finance Manager with project budget monitoring tools and monthly reforecasting, including burn rate analysis and scenario modelling.

• Assist the Finance manager in producing periodic financial reports for budget holders, including actuals vs budget vs forecast and key explanatory notes.

Compliance, Controls and Reporting

• Support compliance with internal financial controls, donor requirements, and UK charity regulatory obligations (including reporting to the Charity Commission).

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial analysis.

• Prepare year-end schedules and audit files in support of statutory accounts preparation under Charity SORP.

• Support the Finance Manager and external auditors during year-end and audit processes.

• Maintain a robust digital audit trail of financial documentation (contracts, invoices, approvals, grant agreements, timesheets and expenses).

• Identify internal control weaknesses and recommend proportionate process improvements across purchasing, expenses, consultancy contracting and sub-grant management.

• Support in preparation of donors’ reports ensuring compliance to donors’ rules.

• Assist with preparation of schedules for statutory accounts and audit, Support year-end close activities, Payroll, HR Finance & Treasury:

• Support end-to-end payroll processing, including payroll payments, PAYE, National Insurance and pension reconciliations.

• Maintain payroll records in compliance with HMRC requirements.

• Support banking administration including mandates, online banking platforms and payment authorisations.

• Assist with treasury tasks: cash monitoring, payment scheduling, and ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs. Capacity Building and Internal Support:

• Provide guidance to staff on financial procedures and processes.

• Contribute to strengthening financial awareness and accountability across teams.

• Assist with training staff on financial processes, tools, and systems. Cover & Additional Responsibilities:

• Provide operational cover for the Finance Manager within delegated authority during periods of absence.

• Undertake additional finance and compliance responsibilities as required.

• Proactively identify financial risks and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and financial resilience.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

• 3+ years’ experience in a finance officer (or equivalent) role with strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and maintaining audit trails.

• Experience using accounting software (Xero highly desirable), plus strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic data validation).

• Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT treatment, and compliance requirements within a UK charity context.

• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Experience preparing or supporting:

o monthly management accounts (journals, bank recs, balance sheet recs),

o cashflow monitoring and forecasting,

o project budgets and donor/project financial reporting.

I.  JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Executive Director, Right To Play UK, the Head of Individual Giving will be responsible for leading on community, mid and major donor fundraising and philanthropy for Right To Play UK. The incumbent will deliver a successful strategy for Right To Play UK’s work in this area, leading on developing and coordinating fundraising campaigns, building, and developing our portfolio of major donors, developing a philanthropy pipeline and facilitating bespoke events with the aim of generating substantial income in line with the organisation’s budgetary objectives.

II. RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Individual Giving campaigns and strategy (20% time):

• Collaborate on development and implementation of UK individual giving strategy, working closely with the UK leadership team and international colleagues.
• Develop, adapt and coordinate UK fundraising campaigns for mid and major donors, work closely with the Head of Communications and Engagement and UK team.
• Project manage delivery of campaigns by the RTP UK staff team, working across audiences.
• Analyse and report on audience, results and trends and use this to inform future plans.
• Manage the Individual Giving Officer and provide guidance on their development of key projects.

2.Major Giving and Philanthropy (50% time):

• Lead on developing, implementing and reporting on Right To Play’s individual giving strategy in the UK, in alignment with Right To Play’s global strategic plan, in collaboration with the Head of Partnerships and Executive Director.
• Directly manage a range of major donor and philanthropic relationships, as well as oversight of relationship management by colleagues and the Partnerships team.
• Lead on researching, identifying, developing, and supporting new major donor funding opportunities with the aim of generating substantial income from this fundraising source in line with the organization’s budgetary objectives.
• Lead on ongoing communications strategy for our mid and major donor support base, building support and ensuring consistency across a range of constituent groups.

3. Major donor events development  (15%):

• Lead on design and development of bespoke major donor events (e.g. 30 person dinner), working closely with service providers, donors and the RTP UK team.
• Lead on stewardship of events-focused audiences, building a long-term, diversified support base.

4. Contribute and support global and UK team (10%):

• Contribute to global projects and strategies through the global fundraising team.
• Contribute to the development of global strategic initiatives, including developing major donor relationships in other RTP supporter countries.
• Support the work of the wider Right To Play UK team, focussing on shared team goals.

5. Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)

• Undertake any other activities reasonably requested by the Executive Director.

III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must have):

(A) EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION:

• Undergraduate degree from a relevant university program or equivalent work experience

(B) EXPERIENCE:

• 5-year’s relevant experience including working within a senior fundraising role, working on fundraising strategy and successful campaigns.
• Experience in managing relationships with a range of major donors.
• Experience developing and securing high value relationships and gifts.
• Experience developing/approving reports and proposals for major donors and/or tailoring to a UK audience.
• Experience representing an organisation with senior stakeholders.
• Experience managing a varied workload and balancing conflicting priorities.

As Policy Officer you will play an important role in determining what the Society thinks about the big issues affecting people affected by dementia. Through robust scoping and policy development, you will help to identify the action needed to affect change and help ensure our influencing activity is evidence-driven, timely and relevant across the three nations in which we work – nationally and locally.

You will be an expert policy advisor to colleagues across the Society and support Policy Managers to deliver against agreed integrated plans, including helping to monitor progress and performance and working with others to gather evidence, insight and data to underpin our policy work. You will be a good communicator with the ability to use written/verbal communication skills to build positive relationships with stakeholders and produce high-quality and accessible policy content. This includes translating highly complex data and developments into insightful commentary and recommendations.

What you’ll focus on:

- Scoping, developing and working with others to mobilise our organisational policy positions, in line with agreed organisational priorities.
- Proactively horizon scanning and developing insightful analysis and communicating the implications of key developments in the external environment to the rest of the organisation, including to senior colleagues.
- Helping to monitor and report progress on our policy activity in line with the Evidence, Policy and Influencing integrated plan, noting how policy work is informing our approach to national and local influencing.
- Ensuring the experience and insight of people with and affected by dementia is at the heart of all our policy work.
- Embedding all work in a systems leadership approach, working across organisational and geographical boundaries to achieve objectives.
- Driving engagement, awareness and involvement in our policy work through effective communication across the Society and beyond to ensure maximum impact.
- Building impactful, sustainable relationships with external stakeholders such as partners in NHS systems, Government, think tanks and other charities, to further our strategic objectives.

Merseyside Youth Association is seeking an energetic and visionary Outdoor Education Centre Manager to lead our lakeside Outdoor Education Centre (based on the Lord Derby Estate in Knowsley) into its next exciting chapter.

You’ll be the driving force behind the Centre’s direction, designing imaginative outdoor programmes for children and young people including those who may never have experienced the outdoors before.

Alongside the outdoor delivery, you’ll bring strong commercial flair: developing and delivering a robust income generation strategy, managing budgets, securing grants, expanding school and corporate bookings, and positioning MYA as the provider of choice for outdoor education locally and beyond.

You’ll build meaningful partnerships, drive targeted marketing, track both impact and financial KPIs, and ensure our programmes not only change lives but also sustain the long-term future of the Centre.

Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a national charity to recruit for the Fundraising and Events Officer role in order to help deliver an engaging and successful portfolio of fundraising and cultivation events, including an annual golf day, comedy night and dinners.

You’ll play a central role in delivering exceptional events, stewarding supporters and corporate partners, and supporting wider fundraising activity. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, creativity and hands on event management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver events from concept to evaluation.
• Maximise return on investment while building meaningful supporter relationships.
• Manage event budgets with a focus on cost efficiency.
• Develop engaging promotional materials across multiple channels.
• Work closely with marketing colleagues on event promotion and post event communications.
• Liaise with and manage suppliers including venues, photographers and entertainers.
• Steward attendees to ensure an outstanding supporter experience.
• Lead on monitoring and evaluating the event portfolio to improve performance year on year.
• Support stewardship of corporate partners and their fundraising initiatives.
• Assist with corporate volunteering days and seasonal activities.
• Help deliver a vibrant volunteering programme, particularly during busy periods such as Christmas.
• Support the securing of Gifts in Kind.

About You

• Proven experience delivering successful events from planning through to evaluation.
• Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organisational and project management ability.
• Experience managing budgets and monitoring financial performance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
• Knowledge of fundraising regulations, GDPR and relevant charity law.
• Resilience, adaptability and calm problem solving skills.

Salary of up to £30,000 per annum

Location: London, hybrid working, 3 day a week in the office
