A position has arisen at SolarAid for a Content and Social Media Manager, reporting to the Director of Communications.
This is a full-time, permanent role, open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, with the option to work remotely or from the London office. Attendance at key team days will be required.
The role focuses on planning, managing and delivering high-quality digital content across SolarAid’s channels, including the website, blog, email and social media. It is a hands-on role, combining day-to-day content production with channel management and collaboration across teams.
Alongside ongoing content and social media activity, the postholder will play an important role in supporting SolarAid’s website redevelopment. This will include reviewing and migrating existing content, helping decide what moves forward, and supporting content quality and consistency as the new site launches and beds in.
We are looking for someone with strong content and social media experience, good editorial judgement, and the ability to manage content across multiple platforms. You will be confident creating written, visual and short-form video content for different audiences, and comfortable working collaboratively with colleagues across communications, fundraising and country teams.

Thank you for your interest in working at Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT). We are currently recruiting sabbatical cover for our Advocacy Manager. Working closely with our Research and Campaigns colleagues, you will be responsible for Parliamentary and legal work, and for liaison with relevant partner organisations.
You will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, to help you build and nurture partnerships with parliamentarians at all levels and with organisations and networks who share CAAT’s goals.
You will have good knowledge of how to use parliamentary procedures to achieve campaign goals, strong experience of monitoring and responding to Parliamentary activity related to core campaign issues.
Your experience of engaging with individual parliamentarians and with formal consultation processes as part of a wider campaign strategy will be vital in ensuring that CAAT builds on existing support in Parliament to advance our key campaigns and help shift public attitudes towards the arms trade.
This is a 13-month, four-day per week post, based either in our London office, or working from home (if within easy travelling distance of London - as this role requires regular in person availability in London), with a salary of £47,898 (£59,873 pro rata), including London weighting, plus 8% into a pension that doesn't invest in the arms trade.

The Communications Manager plays a key role in increasing the reach, visibility, and impact of the organisation’s work. The post-holder will lead on creating high-quality, audience-focused communications across digital platforms, ensuring all content reflects the organisation’s values, brand, and strategic priorities.
Working closely with colleagues and sector stakeholders, the role involves managing social media, newsletters, and the website; supporting events and campaigns; and communicating the impact of the NBO and NBAS within the newborn and perinatal field. The successful candidate will combine creativity, strong organisational skills, and sector awareness to deliver engaging, relevant, and impactful communications.
Suitability

Job Description

1. Digital and Communications Platforms Management
- Social media planning: Develop and follow a social media content plan that includes a range of content types (promotional, engagement, inspirational), reflects the organisation’s strategic goals, and is tailored to the audience’s needs to ensure content is relevant, targeted, and impactful.
- Social media management: Manage the organisation’s social media platforms, including posting, scheduling, and engaging with relevant posts (e.g., commenting, sharing, or reposting where appropriate).
- Email newsletters: Plan, gather, and assemble engaging content (including guest articles) into visually appealing newsletters using Mailchimp, ensuring a mix of news, articles, and resources.
- Website management: Maintain and update the organisation’s WordPress website, including content updates, managing functionalities such as the learning platform and forms, and publishing new content (e.g., blogs). Liaise with website hosts or technical support as needed.
- Email communication: Use email to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders and respond to queries promptly.
2. Sector-Informed Engagement and Initiatives
- Gathering Impact Content: Engage practitioners, managers, and other stakeholders to collect photos, case studies, testimonials, and quotes that demonstrate how the NBO and NBAS are being used in practice and the difference they make. Use this content across social media, newsletters, and the website to showcase the organisation’s impact.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trainers, champions, international colleagues, bursary awardees, and partner organisations, to support communications activities such as guest articles, talks, and dissemination through their networks.
- Sector awareness: Maintain awareness of developments within the newborn, perinatal, and ‘1001 days’ field (including policy, NHS services, government initiatives, and charitable activities) to ensure communications remain current.
- Awareness campaigns: Support relevant awareness days and weeks throughout the year, primarily via social media, contributing a Brazelton-informed voice to wider sector themes and discussions.
- Baby Communication Week: Plan and deliver Baby Communication Week, the organisation’s annual awareness campaign, ensuring strong thematic focus and high-quality events to maximise educational impact and engagement.
- Strategic initiatives: Support additional initiatives that increase the reach, visibility, and impact of the organisation’s work in line with strategic objectives.
3. Content Creation and Brand Compliance
- Visual content: Use design tools such as Canva to produce visual assets — including graphics, videos, and, on occasion, printed materials such as posters — for social media, newsletters, the website, and events, ensuring all content is visually engaging and aligned with the organisation’s branding.
- Written content: Create written copy for a variety of channels, including newsletters, social media posts and captions, website pages, blogs, and promotional materials, ensuring all content is clear, engaging, and consistent with the organisation’s tone of voice.
- Ensure all communications comply with the organisation’s branding and communications policy, providing guidance and support to team members as required.
4. Events and Programme Administration
- Online events: Assist with the organisation of Brazelton online events, such as quarterly Inform & Inspire Sessions, including setting up Eventbrite ticketing/booking pages, managing Zoom sessions, recording events, and uploading content to YouTube for catch-up.
- In-person events: Support the planning and delivery of occasional in-person events, including representing the organisation at external exhibitions and contributing to the Brazelton Centre UK 30th anniversary conference in 2027.
- Bursary schemes: Assist with the administration of annual bursary schemes, including setting up application forms, managing submissions, promoting the schemes, and corresponding with applicants and awardees.

Senior Early Diagnosis Programme Manager
The Senior Early Diagnosis Programme Manager is a key role as we develop and evolve our early diagnosis programmes at Bowel Cancer UK. The role will provide strategic and operational leadership across the charity’s awareness and engagement programmes and the new Bowel Towns programme. Can you help us?
We are looking for a creative, proactive events professional to help us build on our existing events offer. You will lead a small team to develop and deliver the College’s events programme, including our annual conference, to increase engagement with the sexual and reproductive healthcare community and raise the College’s profile with new and existing audiences.
The role:
Events management
- Works with the wider CoSRH team, including members of the College, to develop an annual events programme to meet our educational responsibilities, provide networking and membership growth opportunities and raise the profile of the College
- Works with and supports members and staff through project groups to deliver events (digital, in-person and hybrid), including programme design, speaker and stakeholder liaison, logistics, and evaluation
- Works closely with the Marketing and Digital teams, develops project timelines for events and conferences ensuring clear definitions of roles and responsibilities for delivery of projects
- Selects and manages all technology and systems required to deliver remote/digital events, including sourcing, selection, implementation, and management of CoSRH hosting and communications platforms (e.g. Teams, Zoom) as well as subscription management and linkage with external organisation systems where required
- Manages technical set-up for events as well as providing technical support during events
- Ensures timely distribution of digital event materials, ensuring appropriate video editing has taken place

Principal responsibilities and duties
Budget Management
- With the Head of Comms & Individual Giving, set annual budgets and programmes of activity, actively monitoring performance against these and adapting approach as necessary
- Plan, monitor and control expenditure as appropriate and manage income against set budget, KPIs; providing regular revised projections and narrative for the Senior Leadership Team and trustees as required
- Analyse individual giving performance, reporting as required and using the results to improve practice, including evaluation of cost effectiveness and sustainability
Communicating and building relationships
- Cultivate and steward meaningful relationships with individual donors to maintain their engagement and support and ensure a stable and growing donor base
- Create compelling fundraising materials and appeals targeted at individual donors
- Provide excellent donor stewardship through timely acknowledgement of gifts, personalised communication and recognition efforts.
- Develop and deliver a plan of regular communications for recurring givers and high-value donors
- Represent the charity at Willow or third-party events, to promote fundraising products and talk to potential supporters about ways they can get involved
- Manage relationships with suppliers, agencies and partners
Programme Development
- Conduct regular reviews of income streams and put recommendations into action
- Work with other members of the fundraising team to develop a successful stewardship programme across all supporter types
- Develop and execute strategies to solicit and secure donations from individual donors across various online and offline channels
- Promote and manage our in-memory products, enabling donors to remember their loved ones whilst supporting Willow
- Develop a regular giving programme, executing strategies to acquire, retain, and upgrade individual donors
- Grow our legacy programme and increase the number of people leaving a gift to Willow
- Develop our digital fundraising programme, bringing more supporters online
Data management
- Utilise the charity database (RE NXT) to track donor interactions, manage gift processing and generate reports for analysis and decision making
- Work with the Finance Team, Data & Insight Officer and Supporter Care Officer to ensure accurate data recording
- Use data to identify areas of prospective growth and build plans to deliver these
- Adopt a data-led fundraising approach, segmenting data and using supporter journeys to maintain engagement and speak to people about the right products for them
- Monitor donor attrition and implement measures to mitigate disengagement

- Build excellent working relationships with colleagues across the organisation, creating processes that support efficiencies and collaborative working
- Work with office volunteers to ensure administrative or support tasks are completed in a timely manner

Person Specification
Experience
- Experience working in individual giving fundraising with an excellent working knowledge of donor recruitment, retention and development
- Experience of designing supporter journeys that engage, retain, and inspire donors
- Experience of preparing and managing annual plans and budgets
- Proven project management experience, including design, print and mailing processes
- Experience of working with a CRM system (we use RE NXT) and digital fundraising tools

About Seashell Trust
Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The Trust comprises of the Royal School Manchester, the Royal College Manchester, bespoke Residential Care Homes, Outreach Health and Family Services that support over 8,000 people a year. We provide expert education and residential care for children and young adults with multiple complex disabilities including, profound learning difficulties, multi-sensory impairments, mobility issues and neurological disorders like severe autism. Our fantastic services are based all on one-site, which deepens our sense of community for our children and young adults and the Seashell team.
We are currently in the midst of the largest fundraising appeal in our 200-year history which will see our campus become the national centre of excellence for the education and residential care of children and young adults with the most complex disabilities.
In 2015 we raised £10 million to build our residential care facility Sir Norman Stoller Way and in 2023, opened The Moulding Foundation building, a £25 million home for Royal School Manchester. About the role
The Design and Communications Manager is responsible for managing Seashell’s brand identity so that it engages effectively with our audiences, reflects our values and articulates our ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as lead designer for the Trust and work with the Head of Marketing and Communications to establish clear direction for enhancing brand awareness
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to champion the Seashell brand, providing design insight and input into key campaigns.
- Design and create marketing and communications materials, as well as keeping the brand/marketing and communications toolkit and content bank up to date, to help our teams create their own materials to strengthen our brand and amplify awareness.
- Lead on design or oversee artwork for key organisational documents (impact report etc.) campaigns, fundraising events, reports, prospectuses, impact stories, social media, advertising and any other key content required.
- Act as ‘brand guardian’ and maintain brand assets and guidelines. Ensure consistent application of design standards and brand guidelines across all departments and communications
- Support Seashell’s understanding of its brand guidelines - including tone of voice, sentiment, inclusive language and visual identity - through the provision of advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate the development and delivery of creative content to strengthen and promote our brand, supporting Seashell’s strategic priorities and business planning requirements
- Work with suppliers and stakeholders throughout the development cycle. Duties include writing design and technical briefs, scoping technical development projects with colleagues and suppliers, establishing systems that will enable the functions to be most impactful
- Be accountable for the efficient management of key budgets, ensuring appropriate and effective spend

What you will need for the role:
- Previous experience in design led role is essential - experience of working in a marketing and communications role in an education and care setting, particularly within the charity sector is desirable
- Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or equivalent tools.
- Proven design skills, able to create high quality artwork that elevates a brand
- Competent user of website content management systems, WordPress in particular
- Ability to write and edit high quality, engaging and informative marketing communications copy
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to handle numerous projects with competing deadlines and priorities

About the role
We’re excited to be recruiting a Communications and Engagement Manager to play a key role in shaping and delivering WWF Cymru’s communications and engagement activity.
Working as part of a small, multi-disciplinary team and managed by the Head of Communications (Cymru), this role focuses on building public understanding, mobilising support and strengthening pressure for change in Wales. You’ll work closely with policy and public affairs colleagues to ensure communications activity supports influence on Welsh Government priorities and decision-making.
