Purpose of the roles:

• To be responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of Neighbourhood Watch’s partner project involving Neighbourhood Watch volunteers within the North West.
• Delivering training to volunteers so they can deliver information sessions to community groups. 
• Organising community events where information sessions are delivered by volunteers.
• Ensuring information sessions are delivered to the highest and consistent standards, and that feedback requests are acted upon swiftly.

Hours of employment are:

0.8FTE (28 hours per week)
12 month fixed term contract. Core hours are 10am-12pm and 2-4pm with an unpaid lunch break.

About the role

Smart Works exists to empower all women who need help getting into work. We are currently in a significant growth phase, doubling the number of women we support to 10,000 women a year by 2025. As such, we require vital cornerstone funding and are seeking to establish a Major Gifts function, to secure donations from high-net worth individuals, that will enable us to achieve our mission and help thousands of women to transform their lives.

This is an exciting new role that provides an opportunity to build a new major gifts programme from scratch. Supported by the Director of Partnerships, you will work closely with the CEO, Board, and our network of 750 volunteers, to develop a giving strategy that will engage and grow a new pool of crucial supporters for Smart Works.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing major donors, as well as conducting prospect research, developing bespoke stewardship materials, and securing five-figure and six-figure repeat gifts.

We seek an excellent communicator, with significant experience in influencing, negotiating and exceeding set targets. Creativity, an understanding of women’s fashion, and knowledge of wealth circles would also be advantageous.

The Fundraising and Partnerships team are based in London. This is a hybrid role, working from a London centre at least twice per week, with the opportunity to work across our North, West and South London centres. Some evening and weekend work is required to lead on philanthropic fundraising and support wider partnership team events.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, the successful candidate will:

• Lead the development and delivery of a giving programme, building a pipeline and carrying out proactive prospect research
• Secure five-figure and six-figure multi-year gifts from major donors, to exceed income targets
• Research and identify prospective major donors who could support Smart Works, through existing warm networks and via outreach to cold audiences
• Work collaboratively across teams and functions to produce creative and compelling propositions and materials to secure both core and restricted funding
• Represent Smart Works to a diverse range of stakeholders and audiences to generate income and raise brand awareness
• Develop cultivation events considering regional hotspots
• Acknowledge, thank and recognize donors appropriate to their level of support and ensure restricted gifts are appropriately allocated
• Manage donor database and reporting
• Support Smart Works’ local centres across the UK and share learnings and guidance to help others build their Major Gifts potential

Skills, knowledge and personal attributes

Essential Criteria

• A track record of cultivating strong and positive relationships with multiple, senior and high-net worth individuals
• Demonstrable experience of making the ask, and an ability to support senior staff, volunteers and trustees to do so
• Interpersonal verbal communication and presentation skills, in order to foster strong relationships with donors and networks alike
• Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

Key responsibilities

 Office & Finance Administration

• Working alongside the Office Manager to ensure the smooth running of the office.

The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, currently 10am – 4pm).

The IT 1st Line Support Analyst will play a key role in enabling the organisation in fulfilling its goals through providing a best-in-class support service to its employees.

This role will be responsible for the delivery of initial technical support for hardware and software issues and requests, completing system upgrades, onboarding new employees, and maintaining on site AV equipment. Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Provide initial technical support, troubleshoot, escalate.

· Complete initial troubleshooting of all tickets raised with the IT team.

Role Purpose:

The role of the Commercial Programmer is responsible for the creative programming and delivery of a commercial public events programme through public commercial events and private venue hire to grow our income, visitor numbers and opportunities. 

Delivering exceptional experiences as an extraordinary cultural destination is at the heart of everything we do at the Old Royal Naval College and our audience development plan, brand positioning and values are our guiding principles.

This role will support the development and delivery of key areas which are essential to our success: 

Commercial public events and partnerships support the Commercial Events department to create a year-round plan of commercial public events which engage existing and new visitors and grow income.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Events programming and delivery

• To research, programme, and deliver a regular annual public programme at the Old Royal Naval College, incorporating seasonal events and event programmes related to art installations or exhibitions.
• To support the development of the Commercial Public Events programme in line with the Commercial Events Strategy as defined by the Commercial Manager.
• Generate income and profile through a range of commercial partnerships, ticketed events, and new ventures to build financial resilience of the organisation.
• Programming unique and innovative special events, working alongside site partners to deliver a collaborative programme of commercial events. 
• To use bench-marking research and consistent formative evaluation to keep the public programme relevant and successful. 
• To provide engagement opportunities for audiences from all backgrounds with a diverse programme of events.
• To ensure that all events are staffed appropriately with the appropriate level of cover for the activities onsite.  
• To manage all documentation and liaison in relation to the delivery of the public programme (i.e. communication with internal and external stakeholders, the completion of events schedules, Event Management Plans, and risk assessments).
• To manage the engagement of contractors and suppliers working on the public programme, ensuring all health and safety protocols are met and site rules adhered to.
• To keep complete and up-to-date financial records and ensure that the programme remains within a set budget. 
• To handle and respond to private event enquiries and confirm/programme them appropriately in the site diary.

The job holder will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships.

The role will focus on the outreach provision, working in different locations across Salford providing training to employers about the issues faced by working carers. In the role you will also connect with other organisations to create partnership and referral options. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will be a stimulating and inspiring opportunity for an experienced equality and discrimination lawyer to work pro actively and strategically to use the law as a tool for change. 

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO. 

About You-
We are looking for someone who is excited about being part of a team that will build a legal service and who can work with Black communities and be guided by them. 
You will also be able to demonstrate that you are aware that Black communities are not homogeneous and you will bring this understanding to the way that you approach your work and interact with clients, our partners and community organisations. 

Your qualities will include an understanding that intersectionality is relevant in all that we do at BEO and that your assessment of how we use the law will be seen through that lens. 

You will be someone who has lived experience of or insight and comprehension of the impact of racism on all aspects of the lives of members of Black communities.
