SARAC (sexual abuse rape advice centre) is a Staffordshire based Charity that offers a Trauma informed specialist support service to those affected by rape and/or sexual abuse, underpinned by a team of volunteers, a Board of Trustees and a team of paid staff. Since the beginning in 1994 it has continued to grow and develop its services to cover ages 11 and above. SARAC provides person centred support helping empower those affected to understand and move forward. They are there to help at every step, providing a compassionate service to all those affected and delivered by highly trained staff and volunteers.

This is an exciting time to join SARAC, established since 1994, it has adapted and thrived during the challenges of COVID 19. It has diversified its delivery of services and continued to provide an excellent service. As we move forward the charity is now looking to fill the vacant CEO role to lead our award winning service. Your key focus is on leading the service delivery team and influencing external stakeholders. You will lead the strategic development of SARAC support services and volunteering function, ensuring this meets the needs of our service users. You will also be an ambassador and voice of the people affected by sexual abuse and rape. Representing their needs and leading on external affairs and policy work you will drive strategic direction and provide thought leadership on service delivery, development, innovation and inclusion. In addition, you will support the charity by managing changes brought on by COVID-19 and build on the digital development which was accelerated by the pandemic.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and empowering leader, working collaboratively with others to help SARAC to achieve their ambitious goals. You will have experience of operating at strategic level in a similar support service/service delivery environment. Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and impact measurement will be important, along with budgeting and business planning experience. Whilst expertise and experience are important, SARAC are also open to recruiting for potential in this role, and understand that there may be development areas that the Charity can support you with.
SARAC offices are based in Burton on Trent. The successful candidate will need to be based at the office,but with home working flexibility. This is a full time role however SARAC would consider candidates looking to work 4 days per week (salary pro rata).
