We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Development Director to join our high performing charity team.
Already one of the best performing NHS Charities in the sector, with an annual income of £4m, we have a new opening for an inspirational and committed Associate Director to lead our fundraising and communications strategies and to take our income to a new level.
We have ambitious plans to support the NHS here in Nottingham by running multiple £m campaigns across a range of services, including our Children’s Hospital and our Regional Cancer Centre.
Every day hundreds of patients and families choose to support Nottingham’s NHS hospital because of the incredible care they have received.
Your role will be to develop a strategy that increases our supporter acquisition, improves our donor retention and maximises that support to reach our goals.
You will need to be a strategist and a detailed analyst, excel with budgets, reports and presentations, and lead a team of committed fundraisers across a range of income streams.
You will be a natural and enthusiastic leader, who can direct, support and inspire a high-performing team.
With experience of working in a complex environment, you will be organised with a high-level of attention to detail, plus have the ability to work alongside adjacent departments in Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, creative, ambitious and team-oriented, with proven experience working for a fast-paced organisation.
As well as evidence of high-level strategic thinking, you will be comfortable diving into the day-to-day work, and so a broad skill set is a must together with a sharp focus on delivering return-on-investment, demonstrating impact of campaigns on revenue, and building our audiences.
This is a complex role requiring a high level of political acumen, excellent relationship skills and a desire to improve our ability and capacity to generate income at every level, from digital fundraising to major gifts.
The Charity has been serving the Hospital Trust for 17 years and has given over £60m funding for specialist equipment, medical research, enhancements to the hospital environment, and staff wellbeing and support programmes.

This role will be appointed on a permanent and Full-Time basis and there are options for Hybrid-Working - salary of circa £55,000 according to experience.

The role will be home based with travel across the region as well as travel to the regional and head office when required.
The Role
Maximise income and awareness of the charity by identifying, researching and securing corporate support from new business contacts across the East of England.
Responsible for identifying and pitching to a varied and diverse business community.
Manage and develop a robust, rolling pipeline of new prospects and opportunities.
Responsibility and accountability for developing and implementing successful approaches and proactively generating leads to build, maintain and convert your own pipeline.
Identify, research and deliver new business income through a variety of methods.
Develop and implement excellent stewardship policies for all corporate supporters.
The Candidate
Able to identify, research and approach companies across the East of England.

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser for an inspiring health charity to identify and secure new community fundraising supporters to support ambitious plans for income growth.
This is a homebased role, working regionally in Eastern Scotland

The Role
Assist with developing, implementing & monitoring the regional fundraising plan & budgets.
Research & identify opportunities for working with local companies and secure an agreed number of partnerships.
Develop a pipeline of new fundraising prospects.
Recruit, manage and develop fundraising support groups to deliver a planned and secure income stream.
The Candidate
Proven record of successful income generation from either the voluntary sector or demonstrate transferable skills from the commercial sector.
Previous experience of identifying, establishing and retaining new fundraising partners, supporters and fundraising groups/committees
Experience writing successful proposals and bids.
Experience training and developing volunteers.

About the role
As Major Gifts Manager, you'll join the charities growing philanthropy team working on a portfolio of £5-100k+ gifts where you'll steward Major Donors in Scotland and work on building a new pipeline of high networth individuals. With a warm pool of prospects, and exciting and varied programmes to talk to them about, you'll be part of a vibrant and supportive culture where people are encouraged to try new things and get creative. Led by a supportive and collaborative team who believe in empowering each other, you'll be given the freedom to work in the way that best suits you.
About you
You've got a proven track record of making the ask at the five/six figure mark. You create inspiring and emotive proposals, tailored to the individual with a focus on outcomes and impact. You're confident in picking up the phone and getting out to meet donors, where you communicate and influence effectively. You thrive in a homeworking environment, managing your time well and organising a pipeline of work independently. Whilst previous philanthropy experience would come in handy, we are open to applications from fundraisers with transferable skills and experience in other income streams but you must be able to demonstrate you understand the theory of how Philanthropy works. What we'll also need you to demonstrate is a talent for relationship building and a passion for stewardship; the ability to listen carefully and intuitively to shape opportunities for donors to give. We are working in partnership with Hampshire Cultural Trust (HCT), who were established as an independent charity in 2014. HCT operate visitor attractions, galleries, museums, and arts centres across Hampshire, and are responsible for conserving and maintaining one of the largest and most significant regional collections of historical artefacts in the country. Their charitable purpose is to change lives through culture, both for Hampshire’s residents and for visitors to the county, placing particular emphasis on reaching individuals, groups and communities who are vulnerable or disadvantaged, breaking down barriers of access to arts and culture.
HCT are now seeking to appoint a Director of Development to lead and deliver a trust-wide strategic approach to fundraising, in alignment with organisational needs and priorities. The director will develop and lead a high performing team and will be responsible for growing income from a range of sources, including trusts and grants, individual giving and developing a philanthropy programme based on a portfolio of designated funds to support strategic projects and ongoing revenue funding. This role sits on the SLT, with shared responsibility for setting and realising the organisation’s goals, strategic priorities, and business plan.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience in fundraising, including developing and implementing successful development strategies and securing income from a wide range of sources.
- Significant experience in securing philanthropic gifts at the five and six figure level.
- Strong track record in developing successful proposals and securing grants from trusts and statutory funders, with an ability to convey information in a concise, relevant, and compelling way.
- Experience of managing and developing high-performing teams, and senior stakeholder relationships, including donors and funders.
- Good working knowledge of charity finance, budgeting, and reporting.
