Your new role
You will be responsible providing the utmost support to the Head of Finance and the wider Senior Leadership Team with diary management, minute-taking, board and council meetings, travel logistics and complex inbox management.
You will also be the point of contact for various teams like the facilities team, HR team, finance team and general building management to ensure everything runs smoothly within the office.
As the Executive Assistant and Office Manager, your duty is to support multiple individuals with a main focus on the Head of Finance.
Main scope of the role
- Administrative support to the Executive Directors
- Office Support and Management
- Council and Meetings Support.
- Ensure the smooth running of the office.
- Act as facilities manager for the office dealing with items such as telephone system, copier franking machine, furniture etc.
- Manage office cover and handling of inbound telephone calls.
- Manage incoming post - involves reading and acting on all incoming post. Once done go through and action with Executives.
- Manage any office moves.
- Maintenance of diaries - self-explanatory but often complex because of number of officers and entities.
- Arranging travel & itineraries - trips around the UK for Executive Directors.
- Confidential work for the Executive Directors.
- Assist in compiling agendas and reports for all Council meetings.
- Organise Council and other Committee meetings and meetings with Government bodies and other ad-hoc meetings.
- Taking minutes for Council meetings.
- Support the election administration - involves ensuring those voting are allowed to vote and those retiring by rotation have the opportunity to stand again, collation of attendance records and other administrative matters.

Empower Youth Zone is the umbrella charity that oversees operations of the award winning HideOut Youth Zone which has supported over 7,000 children and young people since its opening in 2020, offering a dynamic youth provision. The Two Youth Zones sit within the Onside Network.
Job Title: Philanthropy Manager
Report to: Director of Fundraising and Communications
Salary: £39,318 - £42,672
Working Pattern: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Manchester, M12 5PX
The post holder will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors and lead on building relationships with new potential supporters to secure 5 and 6 figure donations. You will be developing strategic and personalised solicitation and stewardship plans for a portfolio of donors and prospects, contributing to their annual fundraising targets. You will also oversee the Patrons programme at Empower, ensuring continued support year on year.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have excellent relationship management and experience in bringing in new business to maximise income, either from the charity sector or commercially. Ideally, this will be at the five figure+ level.
- Have experience consistently hitting and/or exceeding both financial and non-financial KPIs.
- Have demonstrable leadership experience and input into an organisation's fundraising strategy.
- Be entrepreneurial and an outside-the-box thinker.

Are you an experienced Personal Assistant open to some interim work towards a noble cause?
We’re pleased to be working with a lovely organisation who are seeking a temporary Personal Assistant to support their Senior Leadership Team. You’ll provide high quality support to the Directors including managing diaries and appointments, as well as preparing and drafting correspondence as required.
You’ll oversee coordination and collation of reports for board meetings as well as supporting the team to ensure departmental deadlines are met for governance activities. You’ll organise internal and external meetings/conferences including minute taking and wider support on existing projects. This is an amazing opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team which also offers other great benefits.
As a Personal Assistant, you will need:
- Prior experience working in an EA/PA capacity
- Experience of diary management, arranging meetings and preparing papers
- Ability to write succinct, clear and professional communications for senior audiences
- Highly proficient using MS Office
