Support Coordinator

We’re looking for an innovative, passionate and professional individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the Stroke Recovery Service based in the North Lincolnshire area.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following a stroke.

Position: S11333 Stroke Support Coordinator

Location: Home-based, North Lincolnshire. However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (this will include the need for regular home visits and may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week

Salary: Circa £16,400 per annum (FTE circa £27,435 per annum)

Contract: This is a fixed term contract until 30 September 2026, covering an internal secondment.

The Role

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

Reporting to the Stroke Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Support Coordinator will:

• Making introductory calls to stroke survivors and carers, identifying their needs and their desired support pathway through the service.
• Delivering an effective service in line with case management principles ensuring that confidential and accurate records are kept on the CRM database.
• Organise and deliver community engagement activities such as awareness events and service presentations to promote the service and raise awareness of stroke and its risk factors
• Provide personalised information, advice and support using a person-centred approach through a variety of contact methods including home visits.
• Working collaboratively with other professionals and organisations involved in the care of stroke survivors and carers to ensure the best possible support is provided throughout the stroke pathway.

About You

• Providing person centred support.
• Working to improve outcomes for individuals/communities
• Using technology and IT systems to support your work and keep timely, accurate records.

We are looking for an Intercultural Engagement Project Coordinator to help bring the Union’s intercultural engagement work to life. You will support the smooth running of projects, events, and activities that celebrate cultural diversity and help students connect across cultures. This includes coordinating events and workshops, managing communications and social media, reaching out to students, supporting volunteers, and handling day-to-day project administration.

Purpose of Post: The post holder will lead on the delivery of our volunteer programme. You will be responsible for the recruitment of new volunteers and the support of existing volunteers and volunteer contacts to maintain a positive volunteer experience.

You will work across teams to ensure the volunteer’s experience is positive and will play a key role in volunteer retention. You will work with the different teams to identify and develop new volunteering opportunities. You will increase the diversity and variety of our volunteering opportunities to reflect our local community and better serve our members. You will work to ensure our volunteers feel valued, fulfilled, and have opportunities to meaningfully contribute to Hear Us.

As well as oversight of all our volunteering activities, the post-holder will assist in delivering, developing and expanding upon the success of our existing independent peer support Linkworking Project at inpatient wards at the Royal Bethlem Hospital (RBH) and Croydon’s Mental Health Community Services, Jeanette Wallace House (JWH) and Queens Resource Centre (QRC). The post-holder will assist the Peer Support Coordinator in managing and supporting our team of peer support Linkworkers (volunteers) to monitor the quality of Croydon’s statutory mental health services.

This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our volunteer activities, enabling us to support more people in our community.

This post holder will work towards achieving a Hear Us Volunteer Accreditation as part of ensuring good practice for our staff and volunteers, and developing the future creative direction of our volunteering offer.

Given the collaborative and engagement-focused nature of this role, and its direct delivery responsibilities, regular face-to-face working is required, with the post-holder based primarily in the office and attending events and community activities as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop and support different techniques to attract lived experience volunteers to Hear Us to build a strong and diverse volunteer base

· Develop and produce volunteer recruitment and information material for our public events, website, and social media

· Monitor and screen incoming volunteer applications and make first contact with applicants

· Liaise with Hear Us managers to schedule, plan, and organise in-person and online volunteer recruitment drives and/or information days

· Support with the development and delivery of a standardised volunteer induction.

Volunteer Management

· Lead on organising and managing volunteer involvement in events and activities, ensuring effective briefing and debriefing.

· Provide volunteer supervision and support where required (usually volunteers will be line managed by their project manager if volunteering with a specific project)

· Conduct regular volunteer surveys and establish routes for volunteers to provide feedback.

Volunteer Training

· Schedule, plan, and organise group training days for volunteers to access and complete mandatory training

· To support volunteers to access and complete mandatory training, (including safeguarding, Prevent and information governance) and to encourage attending further training, workshops or other opportunities that may support in their own development.

· To provide bespoke Hear Us training to new volunteers as part of the induction process, and provide refresher and ongoing training for existing volunteers, updating and/or redesigning the training manuals where necessary.

· In collaboration with colleagues, to develop the Hear Us Academy (accredited peer support training modules)

 Volunteer Database Management

· Manage the volunteer database by maintaining an accurate record of Hear Us volunteers, including but not limited to activity status, address, and communication preferences on Hear Us database(s).

· Ensure all recruitment checks are completed and accurate volunteer records are held in compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.

Linkwork Project Support

· Act as a deputy for the Peer Support Coordinator where required, in managing a small, vibrant team of peer support volunteer Linkworkers (all of who are current or former mental health service users).

· Assist with Linkworking Project support, such as supporting volunteers in signing up for the SLaM Involvement Register, arranging an induction with Hear Us and introducing peer support Linkworkers to wards and services.

· In the absence of the Peer Support Coordinator, organise and manage the peer support Linkworking rota, finding cover where necessary, ensuring as few sessions are cancelled as possible.

· In the absence of the Peer Support Coordinator, maintain good relations with the SLaM Involvement Register, and submit peer support Linkworkers’ timesheets as required.

· In the absence of the Peer Support Coordinator, ensure the ongoing delivery of Linkworking Sessions

· Help monitor the peer support Linkworking Project, evaluating its effectiveness on improving services and gathering feedback from service users, Linkworkers, and SLaM staff.

· Gather and provide peer support Linkworkers with signposting material and information that can be shared with service users.

Stakeholder Management

· Work in partnership with the Peer Support Coordinator, Engagement and Campaigns Manager, Welfare Rights Manager, Events Coordinator, Deputy CEO, CEO, trustees, and other staff members to achieve the charity's aims and ensure stability and longevity for Hear Us and its members.

· Represent Hear Us on appropriate external committees, networks and other bodies, with other voluntary, statutory and private sector agencies.

· Work on volunteer incentives, recognition and reward schemes across the year.

Other Duties

· Attend supervision and identify your own training and support needs with your supervisor.

· Develop and maintain a healthy working practice for yourself and the volunteers (including peer support Linkworkers) by having clear personal and professional boundaries.

· Keep up to date with best practice and legislation in the volunteer sector.

· Actively oppose discrimination against people who experience mental distress in Croydon in line with the Hear Us diversity and inclusion and recruitment policies

It is the nature of the work that tasks and responsibilities are in many circumstances unpredictable and varied. All employees are expected to work in a flexible way, as required by Hear Us. Purpose

As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll drive innovation and oversee the delivery of high quality services that empower students to thrive. You will lead the membership facing services and staff including the Advice Service, Opportunities team and Student Voice team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development of our membership facing services (Advice Service, Opportunities ad Student Voice).
• Operationally manage team leaders and staff fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion and proactivity.
• Utilise data, research and feedback to identify student trends and introduce new interventions and initiatives.
• Oversee democratic processes, representation structures, and feedback mechanisms to amplify student perspectives and drive positive change.
• Developed policies and processes to enhance services and oversee an operational budget for the membership services.

This is an exciting opportunity to steer Asylum Aid at an important time in its 30-year existence. As Executive Director you will be responsible for delivering on our strategy for impact. You will oversee our work to increase access to expert, trauma-informed legal representation to those in the asylum, trafficking and statelessness systems and lead our policy and strategic legal work to achieve systemic change that contributes towards our vision.

You will line manage the Director of Legal Casework to oversee the provision of supportive and enabling leadership to Asylum Aid caseworkers so that they can continue to deliver high quality expert advice in complex cases, while being supported in their professional development and wellbeing. You will also manage and develop the work of our welfare advice team within the Westminster Advice Services Partnership and beyond, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the sector to build capacity and increase our impact. 

The ideal candidate, who may be legally qualified, will have experience of leadership in the charity/NGO sector and a sound understanding of the asylum, human rights and trafficking processes in the UK and the legal frameworks which govern the protection of refugees, survivors of trafficking and stateless people, and of the role of law in achieving system change.

We are looking for someone who is strategically minded and passionate about providing supportive and inclusive leadership to our expert team. You will be committed to our objectives and to the role which expert legal representation plays in enabling people in need of protection in the UK to obtain it.

As is the nature of this sector, the role may be exposed to a high volume of traumatic and distressing material and, whilst they will be supported by the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and surrounding team, the candidate should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of good self-care principles in an intense work environment and dissemination of those principles to junior members of the team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and strategy

·Be responsible, with the support of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO, for the development, implementation and monitoring of Asylum Aid’s organisational strategy

·Provide leadership and strategic direction at Asylum Aid in accordance with its aims and objectives, with the support of the Director of Legal Casework

·Act as external spokesperson for Asylum Aid, maintaining and strengthening Asylum Aid’s position as a leader in the refugee rights, statelessness and legal aid sectors;

·Work collaboratively with others in the sector to promote and strengthen Asylum Aid’s work, identify and establish potential partnerships, with the support of the Director of Legal Casework;

·Work collaboratively with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and Executive Leadership team to drive the implementation of the Group strategic framework;

·Ensure that all reporting and monitoring requirements are met to support fundraising, contract compliance and monitoring strategic impact;

·Support the cross collaboration of the Asylum Aid team with the Helen Bamber Foundation team and play an active part in the management of the Helen Bamber Foundation Group.

Governance  

·Act as the Data Protection Supervisor with responsibility for data protection and cyber security within Asylum Aid

·Together with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group CEO and designated safeguarding leads, be responsible for child and adult safeguarding within Asylum Aid

·In collaboration with the Director of Legal Casework, ensure compliance by Asylum Aid with all legal and regulatory obligations, including the Legal Aid Agency contract, the Immigration Advice Authority and Solicitors Regulation Authority;

·Lead on the preparation and presentation of quarterly reports on Asylum Aid’s activities, strategy and risks to the Asylum Aid Board, the Finance and Fundraising Committee and the People and Governance Committee;

·Lead on the preparation of the Trustees’ annual report and ensure that monitoring and evaluation systems are adequate to enable reporting on Asylum Aid’s activities and impact.

Management and Supervision 

·Responsible for line management of the Director of Legal Casework and Welfare Advice service coordinator, and other team supervisors as required;

·Together with the Group Director of People, responsible for Human Resources and implementation of the People Strategy within Asylum Aid, including development and implementation of HR policies and procedures;

·Together with the Director of Legal Casework and team supervisors, drive the effective management and supervision of the Asylum Aid team and ensure that they comply with relevant professional standards and accreditation;

·Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture at Asylum Aid in which each member feels valued and supported to develop professionally and to perform to the best of their ability;

·Ensure the team’s well-being and that self-care practices are established and work in tandem with the Director of Legal Casework and supervisors to ensure trauma-informed ways of working.

Policy & Strategic Legal Work

·Together with the Group Director of Policy, identify policy priorities and coordinate the preparation of evidence and briefings drawing on Asylum Aid’s experience and expertise to influence system change;

·Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with sector colleagues to support joint strategic engagement including policy advocacy and strategic legal work;

·Work closely with the Director of Legal Casework and team supervisors to drive changes in the UK asylum, trafficking and statelessness systems through strategic legal work.

Finance & Fundraising

·Work closely with the CEO and the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Finance Team to set and manage budget(s) and general financial matters for Asylum Aid

·Together with the Director of Legal Casework and the Group Finance Team, establish systems for monitoring legal aid Work In Progress and billing, and securing casework income including legal aid, and inter partes income from judicial review cases;

·Work closely with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Fundraising and Communications Team to secure funding for Asylum Aid from a range of sources including trusts and foundations, corporate philanthropy and major donors;

·Ensure that Legal Aid and other income is maximised, and targets are achieved.                                   

Other duties

·Manage the recruitment and supervision of volunteers where necessary in collaboration with the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Volunteers Coordinator;

·Support the Helen Bamber Foundation Group Facilities team to ensure the smooth running of the office and that the facilities meet the needs of Asylum Aid;

·Work outside normal office hours as required and travel in order to carry out the responsibilities of the post.

·To undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge

•Experience of running a small to medium sized charity/legal NGO and/or legal department within the NGO sector (or other equivalent senior management role);

•Demonstrable experience of managing and leading a successful team and the ability to manage a growing team with mixed roles from team supervisors to administrative support staff, working co-operatively with colleagues to maintain transparency and effective working relationships within the team;

•Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds

•Strong understanding of good governance including legal, regulatory and financial responsibilities;

•Ability to work with a range of stakeholders from trustees to external partners;

•Experience of leading and/or participating in organisational strategic planning;

·Experience of legal policy work within the human rights field and /or of strategic litigation, whether as an NGO claimant or legal representative;

•Experience of managing diverse funding sources and setting and implementing budgets;

•Experience of working in a service delivery partnership with other organisations;

•Experience of fundraising, especially grants from trusts and foundations;

•Sound working knowledge of the law and policy as it relates to immigration,  asylum, human rights and modern slavery/trafficking;

•Demonstrable understanding of the asylum and human rights sector in the UK;

•An understanding of the barriers migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers face regarding access to legal advice, reasons why they may become destitute and why this makes it more difficult to access advice and support; and

•The passion for working empathetically and supportively with migrants, refugees, stateless people and asylum seekers.

Desirable Experience

·Experience of managing the delivery of frontline casework with people in the asylum or trafficking systems

·Experience of tendering for and delivering publicly funded contracts e.g. LAA or local authority funding;

·Working knowledge of Legal Aid Agency contracts, including the delivery of casework and billing under a legal aid contract in the immigration and asylum category and/or the public law category;

We’re seeking an experienced charity leader to work with our partner charities, Lintel Trust in Scotland and Lifting Lives in England & Wales.  

As an experienced, motivated charity leader you will drive LHCPGs charitable aspirations through working with our partner charities, Lintel Trust in Scotland and Lifting Lives in England and Wales, so helping us deliver meaningful community benefit across the UK.  

In this central role, that will require some travel as you attend meetings in Edinburgh and Uxbridge offices, you will ensure governance, lead strategic development, build partnerships, and support and facilitate fundraising and operational activity, ensuring our charitable work continues to improve lives and places.  

What You’ll Do

• Lead governance, statutory compliance, and Trustee support across both Trusts.
• Work with Trustees to develop charity strategies, policies, and risk management frameworks.
• Support the grant-making and reporting processes, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Build strong partnerships and represent the Trusts at events and sector forums.
• Drive fundraising and income generation to expand charitable impact.
• Oversee marketing, digital presence, and communications.
• Line manage the Charities Liaison Coordinator and foster a collaborative team culture. 

What You Need 

• Strong knowledge of charity regulation (OSCR and/or Charity Commission).
• Experience running or overseeing a charity and working with Trustees.
• Proven fundraising, grant assessment, and budget management experience.
• Excellent communication, report writing and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in marketing, events and digital content management.
• Understanding of social value, housing issues, and community-focused work.
• Desirable: public sector/housing experience and degree-level qualification.

At our North West London Home, we are recruiting a Head of Kennels who will share our compassion and commitment for animal welfare to provide front line leadership to our team of Kennel and Animal Care staff and volunteers. We care for up to fifteen dogs on site, in addition to dogs placed into foster homes. Our Head of Kennels is responsible for managing the day-to-day smooth running of our kennels and maintaining the wellbeing of all dogs in our care, so that their individual physical and psychological needs are catered for adequately, and in line with our standards and ethics.

This is a high profile and hugely important role for Mayhew as our Head of Kennels oversees each dog's journey through Mayhew from in-take to assessment and then to rehoming. Working with staff and volunteers across the Home, foster carers, adopters, other charities and rescues and members of the public, our Head of Kennels is instrumental in ensuring that our dogs have all they need - from feeding, exercising, cleaning, and socialising to finding their perfect forever home. Leading a small team, our Head of Kennels is responsible for managing all aspects of our dog in-takes, adoptions, fostering and Pet Refuge (read more here), managing our capacity to ensure we help as many dogs as we can and ensuring our dogs are rehomed to a home suited to their individual needs as soon as possible.

The Head of Union Building will lead a team at head office and work collaboratively with Union Building related staff in our regions to develop and deliver the ITF’s ambitious Union Building programme and its growth path. This includes the development, implementation and monitoring of strategies to ensure that Union Building portfolio and funding grows, and that Union Building projects achieve their agreed objectives and are coherently reported in line with TUSSO standards. The role will also contribute to the strategies required to fulfil the ITF’s overall objectives.

Role overview: 

F&BF will be delivering celebration events in 2026-2027 that are bigger and more ambitious than ever. We are looking for an Events Manager to be the engine driver for visioning, planning, and delivering these on time, within budget, and to an extremely high standard. This role demands someone who can deliver events that cater to and attract participation from London’s diverse faith communities and would suit someone committed to F&BF’s values of connection over division and meaningful inclusion and celebration of those from different backgrounds. Our upcoming events programme will involve both celebration and fundraising events – the former, reaching and celebrating London communities; and the latter, engaging high net-worth donors and securing long-term, high-level support for the organisation. Because of this, experience in engaging and securing major donors is essential. This role requires line management of existing members of the F&BF staff and volunteers and working well with existing, and securing new, partners.

Job Description 

All activities will be undertaken in collaboration with the Communities Team and with delivery and sponsorship partners

Delivery of Events 

• To lead on the successful delivery of three major events in the F&BF calendar

• Interfaith Wellbeing Festival (June 2026, London) 

• 10th Anniversary of the Dangoor Awards (Oct 2026, London)

• F&BF’s 30th Anniversary gala event (Early 2027, London) 

• Manage event budgets, ensuring events are delivered efficiently and within financial limits

Person Specification: 

This role would suit someone who is excited about planning and delivering key events; someone who thrives in getting things done under tight deadlines and whilst overseeing many complex moving parts. It requires someone who is good at managing people, and who is enthusiastic and able to motivate and support a team to work together. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can inspire people with a well-devised and well-communicated vision for each event. We require the successful post holder to have experience in engaging major donors and to know what it takes to plan and deliver a successful high-level fundraising event. Saferworld is recruiting for a Programme Development Manager (Maternity Cover) to support teams and partners to co-design and mobilise funding for peace, security and justice programmes across a portfolio of 3–4 countries (based on the candidate’s experience and preference).

Working with Regional Directors, Country Managers and programme/grants colleagues, the post-holder will lead programme co-design and proposal development (including concept notes and proposals, theories of change, logical models, risk matrixes and budgets); develop and support country funding strategies and donor engagement strategies; and support new donor engagement while sustaining relationships with current donors. The post-holder will be responsible for managing funding portfolios across institutional and non-institutional donors in our programmes.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced programme manager who will oversee The Advice Workforce Development Fund (AWDF). AWDF is a collaborative programme dedicated to strengthening and sustaining the social welfare advice sector in London. The role will coordinate and run steering and advisory groups, and ‘task and finish’ groups, working with cross-sector stakeholders to enable the implementation of recent recommendations generated by research commissioned by the programme, and help with monitoring and evaluating the project and funded projects under this programme. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, a commitment to social justice, and a track record of delivering impactful support to external partners.

The workforce development programme was created after working closely with a group of funders and advice sector representatives who are now steering group members. The programme has reached an exciting stage, as it transitions from a foundation-laying and research phase into more of a focus on influencing and implementation of the learning generated to date, while also maintaining and strengthening new and existing relationships. This role, with support from the Head of Sector Support and Grants and the CEO, will oversee the continued development and delivery of this exciting partnership into the longer-term. This role will also work closely with the Propel initiative under London Funders to ensure effective coordination of work is done at all levels.
