1. Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring that the financial operations and human resources of the regional office of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace runs smoothly and to help facilitate the charism, mission, and direction of the community in the United Kingdom.
2. Position Relationships:
- Accountable to Congregation Leadership Team, Trustees of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace CIO, regional Bursar, and Congregation Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
- Liaises with the Trustees, Congregation Treasurer, CFO, and the Finance Committee
- Interrelationships: CSJP Sisters, financial institutions, financial advisors and investment managers, legal counsel, risk management advisors, IT service providers, auditors, payroll and accounting firm, other Finance personnel across the Congregation, and other parties that support the business of the region.
3. Responsibilities & Authorities
- Contribute to the overall organization and direction of the Congregation in the United Kingdom.
- Maintain oversight of all designated areas and take responsibility for a range of specific duties as outlined below:
Management of Financial Resources
- Manage banking and investment accounts, including relationships with account managers and advisors. Implement policies and procedures for the proper stewardship of Congregation financial resources.
Finance and Accounting
- Maintain accounting records and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in a timely manner. Prepare and present financial reports and analyses, including the budget, financial statements, statutory accounts, and other management reports. Handle the annual audit process and ensure timely filing of reports with regulatory authorities.
Payroll and Human Resources Management
- Oversee payroll and pension arrangements and processes. Maintain employee records. Ensure compliance with employment regulations and manage HR matters.
Risk Management
- Together with the CFO and Bursar, assess and manage risks of the region. Manage insurance coverage as appropriate. Implement processes and best practices to ensure the continuity of operations.
Compliance and Contracts Management
- Ensure all relevant policies, legal, and regulatory procedures are in place and adhered to. Represent the organisation in contractual agreements, as authorised by the Board of Trustees.
Property and Capital Expenditures
- Oversee the purchase and sale of real and personal property, including houses, furniture, and vehicles.
Sisters Support
- Provide support to CSJP Sisters, address queries regarding financial matters, such as pensions, bank and credit card accounts, vehicle tax, council taxes, national insurance. Direct concerns to the appropriate parties when necessary.

About the Congregation
The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace was founded in Nottingham in 1884 by Mother Clare (Margaret Anna Cusack). She was a woman deeply moved by the social conditions of her times and the plight of poor and oppressed people. The focus of our Congregation is to promote peace through justice. Over the years the sisters have served in social work, health care, education and action for justice
The Congregation consists of three geographic regions: one in the United Kingdom and two in the United States (East and Pacific Northwest). The headquarters of the Congregation is in New Jersey. We have vowed members (Sisters) and non-vowed women and men known as Associates. Our total vowed membership is less than 100 Sisters and we have a growing number of Associates. The U.K. is the smallest region with less than 30 vowed members. Our ages range from 37 – 101, with most being over 70. We are a registered charity with Charitable Incorporate Organisation (CIO) status. We currently have convents in Nottingham, Leicester, Cleethorpes, Bradford, and London.
This key in-person position is responsible for the financial operations and human resources (HR) management of the UK region in accordance with good practice, governing documents, and legal requirements of the country. With respect to business operations and HR, the Finance Director serves as the main point of contact for the CSJP community and employees of the region.
This position reports to the Congregation Chief Financial Officer and regional Bursar. Under their direction, the Finance Director oversees and reports on the financial health of the UK region to the Board of Trustees. This position ensures that appropriate and effective measures, controls, and procedures are in place. The Finance Director ensures Congregation and regional operational directions are implemented. It is supervised by a line manager designated by the Board of Trustees.
To ensure smooth operations of the region and protection of its digital information, the Finance Director also oversees the IT operations of the region. This position also works closely with the Office Manager, Health and Wellbeing Co-ordinator, and the Peace through Justice Worker.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Manage Individual Giving Campaigns:
Help design and implement engaging individual giving campaigns across multiple channels (direct mail, digital, email, telemarketing, etc.).
Plan, manage, and execute regular giving programs, aiming to grow a sustainable donor base.
Monitor and report on campaign performance, using data to optimise and drive continuous improvement.
Recruitment of New Donors:
In conjunction with your line manager drive the recruitment of new individual donors through online and offline channels, focusing on building long-term relationships.
In conjunction with your line manager develop strategies for donor acquisition via social media, digital marketing, and fundraising events.
Create and manage lead generation initiatives to convert prospects into committed supporters.
Develop and Run Legacy Campaigns:
Design and deliver targeted legacy giving campaigns to raise awareness and increase donations through bequests and regular giving.
Ensure legacy messages are communicated effectively across different touchpoints, including online, print, and events.
Cultivate and steward legacy supporters, ensuring they feel valued and part of SANE’s vision.
Direct Marketing and Social Media:
Work closely with the Digital Marketing Team to create content for direct marketing and social media to encourage donations and engage with potential donors.
Collaborate with the Media and Communications Team to ensure that fundraising messages are compelling, on-brand, and reach the right audience.
Measure and analyse the impact of digital fundraising and social media efforts, making data-driven decisions to improve engagement.
Website and Digital Fundraising:
Work with the Digital Marketing Team to ensure the charity’s online donation platforms are optimised to drive conversions and facilitate a smooth giving experience.
Work with the Digital Marketing Team, Deputy Head of Fundraising and COO to develop strategies to integrate online donation opportunities within the website, social media, and email communications.
Donor Stewardship:
Develop and implement strategies for donor stewardship, ensuring individuals are thanked, informed, and engaged post-donation.
Maintain a regular and consistent program of communications with donors, keeping them updated on the impact of their gifts.
Identify opportunities to upgrade donors to higher giving levels and inspire loyalty.
Collaboration and Reporting:
Work closely with the Services and Media and Communications Teams to gain SANE Services statistics, case studies and up to date on general mental health information, to align individual giving efforts with broader fundraising strategies.
Provide regular reports on campaign progress, income generation, and donor acquisition metrics to the line manager.
Assist with donor relations and events as needed to nurture relationships and engagement.

Purpose of Job
- To work as a cover driver, as required, providing comfortable, reliable and dignified transport for older disabled people in Southwark and Lambeth.
- To drive older, disabled people to and from Stones End Day Centre, working with the support workers to ensure they are transported in comfort and safety.

Key Tasks
- To attend the Centre at agreed shift time and participate in team meetings detailing the plan for the day and which service users are to be collected. Shifts patterns are Monday to Friday between xxx – xxx and xxx to xxx (approximately 5 hours per day).
- Take responsibility for the safe and effective maintenance and daily checks of the minibus including accurate recording of mileage.
- Drive the minibus to and from service users’ homes, ensuring individuals are transported in accordance with the daily schedule.
- To provide physical support to those with mobility problems including those using wheelchairs, walking sticks or frames in a sensitive and safe way, respecting the individuals’ condition, needs and wishes to enter and disembark from the minibus safely. Ability to operate the tail-lift and secure wheelchairs required.
- In the event of an accident, to check passengers for injuries, re-assure and calm them whilst awaiting assistance from the emergency services. To apply, if necessary, first aid within the limits of your ability.

The role
To run our 'Share London' volunteer based service. This service matches service users who would like to access their local communities with volunteers who can guide and accompany them out. Outings may consist of a walk round a local park, a trip to a concert, accessible art galleries, live comedy, sporting events, visits to local coffee shops and much more! As well as coordinating the community based elements of the service, the role also includes the recruitment, training and retention of our volunteers as well as some basic reporting activities. This is a role that provides major job satisfaction and we receive consistently excellent feedback from both service users and volunteers about this service.
This role is a 12 month contract role, with potential for extension.

As Finance Manager for The Angelou Centre you will have a key leadership position. You will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of our finances, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements while ensuring our services are sustainable through sound financial planning. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Trustee Board to provide accurate insights and projections that support long-term growth and resilience.
You will play a pivotal role in reviewing and establishing a robust finance and administrative system and procedures, managing risks and ensuring our charity finances can support delivery of our mission. You will also contribute to the development of funding applications, tenders, and financial strategies. You will play a key role in supporting funding applications, demonstrating impact through financial reporting, and building processes that enable future growth.
Our ideal candidate is someone who;
- Is an experienced charity finance professional with strong technical knowledge
- Has at least 5 years of experience in a leadership and management role or similar position

Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight
- Lead all aspects of day-to-day financial operations
- Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly management accounts to be presented to the Trustees and Executive Director
- Develop and maintain budgets for the whole organisation and departments
- Monitor and report on VAT liability, ensuring accurate submissions and VAT reclaim where appropriate
- Maintain oversight of payroll and pensions in collaboration with external providers
- Manage the weekly payment run, process invoices, and maintain accurate creditor and PO records

Job Summary
Work as a team to support the Diocese of London in safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults in line with both UK legislation and House of Bishops Guidance. Responds well to safeguarding allegations and concerns, management of risk and making the church a safer place in line with the Church of England National Safeguarding Standards.
Job responsibilities
Casework
- Respond to concerns and allegations of harm, working with statutory agencies; and protection of those who work with children and vulnerable adults in line of the House of Bishops Guidance.
- Acting as a contact point for those in church and statutory agencies, provide advice on all safeguarding matters, ensuring the DST is operating in line with the law, government guidance and national practice guidance from the House of Bishops. Ensure that safeguarding procedures are carried out throughout the process, with appropriate liaison with statutory agencies.
- Ensure appropriate support for alleged victims and their families and respondents and their families, throughout an investigation and thereafter.
- Maintain practices standards in all case work, ensuring five key principles underpin all adult safeguarding work, human rights and have due regard to mental capacity and acting in the best interests of those in need of support. Supporting practice and policy development around case management safeguarding processes.
- Work with individuals who come to our attention to ensure appropriate risk assessment and risk management plans to set boundaries within a church setting; for those who are convicted of an offence, or where there are continuing unresolved concerns regarding risks to others.
