The Richmond & Hounslow Methodist Circuit is looking for a reliable and committed individual to support the life and work of our group of churches in SW London. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper organisation and management of our finances to enable our mission.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. It is specifically expected that the role will allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate other responsibilities, including caring.

The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Retention

• Administer the recruitment process by placing job adverts into the template on Canva, removing expired job adverts from the THET website; downloading applications; setting up interviews
• Update staff induction materials
• Update the Organisational Organogram on a monthly basis
• Update staff profiles on the THET website
• Maintain internal HR email/In-box
• Ensure new starters are added to the relevant induction meetings and staff meetings

Development & Performance

• Provide induction and refresher training to staff and volunteers on international travel
• Monitor implementation of staff training and development plans

Policies and procedures

• Follow THET policies and procedures, flagging any issues arising
• Update control sheet for policy review dates and maintain version control numbers for policies and forms

Administration

• Provide administrative support to the CEO and SMT
• Update and maintain the Activ absence system: – Create user accounts for new staff/ archive leavers; monitor staff absences
• Administer travel arrangements within the UK and overseas for senior managers
• Oversee and improve standard operating procedures and forms
• Support the HR & Operations Manager with administration of new and current consultants, volunteers, and interns (recruitment, contract reviews, induction, and compliance training schedules)

Operational Support

• Coordinate the procurement process for items and services including approvals, advertising, tender process, preferred supplier contracts, communication to parties
• Undertake office management tasks including responding to THET mail/ calls; arranging and servicing office meetings; maintaining email distribution lists and email accounts
• Facilitate the purchasing of staff IT and other work equipment in line with budget
• Activate email accounts; coordinate laptops for new staff/leavers; open and close IT accounts for starters, and deactivate these for leavers
• Act as the main point of contact for the outsourced IT supplier.

Health and wellbeing

• Prompt Country Directors to ensure Country risk registers are up-to-date and evacuation/hibernation plans exist

The Project Officer will support Hamrah’s mission by streamlining and strengthening communication, coordination, and outreach among stakeholders, including the partner cohort, mentors, the board of advisors, team members and wider Afghan civil society. The role demands a proactive approach to keeping lines of communication open, addressing queries and concerns promptly, and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The Project Officer will also play a key role in supporting the effective and smooth implementation of project activities, and in ensuring that stakeholders remain actively engaged. This role requires excellent interpersonal, cultural competency and communication and outreach skills and thrives on teamwork, adaptability, and a keen ability to connect with external partners.

Job Description

Communication, Outreach, and Advocacy

• Streamline internal project communications with the partner cohort and other key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and clarity of messaging. 
• Support the design and implementation of communication strategies and advocacy tools, including developing advocacy campaigns and communication materials.
• Work with the partner cohort to identify key advocacy opportunities and relevant forums through which to promote the rights and needs of marginalised communities in Afghanistan.
• Work with partners to engage with policymakers, influencers, and advocacy networks to raise awareness of the project’s advocacy agenda and influence policy direction. 
• Create engaging and informative content for various communication channels, such as newsletters and blogs, highlighting the project’s impact and success stories. If needed, manage the project’s social media accounts, including maintaining an up-to-date project website, regularly posting updates, and engaging with the online community. 

Information Exchange and Knowledge Sharing

• Take an active part in coordination meetings to foster internal cohesion and build strong relationships with the partner cohort and other external stakeholders.
• Help to facilitate discussions, meetings, and conferences to support knowledge exchange and strategic planning with the partner cohort and other stakeholders.
• Support the smooth running of project events by providing logistical and administrative support, inviting participation, and overseeing the effective dissemination of learning and outcomes.

Capacity Building and Training

• Help to plan and organise capacity-building sessions, specialised workshops, and meetings, to facilitate knowledge exchange and skill development.
• Support the development of training materials that meet the specific needs of our partner cohort and their communities.
• Design and deliver targeted training sessions on communication, outreach, and policy advocacy, enriching the skill sets of our partners.
• Offer expert advice to our partners, sharing best practices and insights on communication strategies, advocacy efforts, and effective reporting.

Person specification

Hamrah comprises a small and dedicated remote team. The person who fills this post should feel comfortable working independently in a remote setting and accepting a high level of responsibility for the project’s success. You’ll support our national and local campaigning work across Scotland to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s and those closest to them. As part of our dynamic and committed Scotland team, you’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with colleagues across the charity to deliver focussed political campaigning work. 

You’ll work with  our community to raise awareness and increase knowledge about Parkinson’s with decision makers at a local and national level. You’ll use your knowledge of public policy in Scotland and the UK to make sure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their partners, family members and friends are heard, and help to drive changes that improve their lives. 

What you’ll do:

• Be a first point of contact for campaigners in Scotland, who want to improve services in their local area, and recruit and manage a sustainable network of local campaign volunteers specific to Scotland.

• Support the work of the Policy and Campaigns Manager to understand and influence UK wide and Scottish specific legislation, policy and practice relating to our communities and their needs

• Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and campaigners on how best to influence decision makers in Scotland.

• Use our UK-wide campaign priorities to deliver national and local campaign activity, and coordinate campaigns with other charities and organisations, where appropriate to further our goals.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong people skills, and a commitment to putting the experiences and needs of people affected by Parkinson’s at the centre of your work 

• Excellent written and oral communication and an ability to produce inspiring content to motivate others, and the ability to network and manage supportive relationships with volunteers, MSPs and a range of external organisations

• Experience of managing a varied workload and working to tight deadlines, with excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise.

Position: CE303 Supporter Acquisition Officer

Location: Homebased, U.K. Nationwide, however occasional travel will be required as part of this role (May include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa £30,600 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live)

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

The Role

Reporting to the Supporter Acquisition and New Product Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving innovation within our fundraising initiatives. You will be working with wider teams to help identify new products for our portfolio and to ensure that our products and offers are integrated.

As we continue to invest and grow our programme, this is a very exciting time to join our team.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Managing campaigns on brand and within budget

· Managing external agencies to deliver successful campaign KPIs

· Working with the team to identify new products and channels for testing

About You

You will have experience working in a fundraising and/or marketing environment and will have key strengths in:

· Organising and prioritising a busy workload

· Knowledge of fundraising regulations and compliance

· Good experience of Excel and working with numbers and spreadsheets, to deliver on campaign results, budgets, and reporting

· Good grammatical skills and experience of reviewing compelling copy

· Knowledge and interest in the charity fundraising sector

· Experience working on digital campaigns

The Door is a Christian youth charity based in Gloucestershire, established in 1991 for the benefit of all young people aged 11 to 25 and their families. We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Bid Coordinator to join our Fundraising Team.  Within the team you’d be responsible for generating income from The Door’s fundraising portfolio to meet our budgeted current and future service delivery needs, and specifically for raising income from grants and tender bids.  You’d coordinate the end-to-end process of bid submission, from researching funding opportunities to writing compelling bids to ensuring the timely delivery of reports to funders.

You’ll be an excellent written communicator, with the ability to compose accurate, concise and persuasive prose, strong administrative and relationship management skills, experience of working with budgets and a good eye for detail.  You should have experience of writing successful funding bids and reports.  A detailed understanding of the wider funding environment in the voluntary sector is also highly desirable.

This is a critical time for nature. Biodiversity is in crisis. More than ever, we need to keep rigorously protecting the best places for nature we have left. But we also need to do much more to restore nature and to help it recover within and beyond these places.

European sites, SSSIs and other protected areas have been vital strongholds for nature in Scotland.

This role will lead our work making sure these protected areas, our best places for birds and wildlife, continue to be properly protected, monitored, and managed.It will also lead our work to make sure these places are bigger, better, and more joined up in future, helping nature’s recovery and tackling climate change.

About this role:

This role will lead the development of RSPB Scotland policy positions and advocate them effectively to decision makers at a senior level, influencing government policies and legislation to strengthen and deliver better outcomes for nature through networks of protected areas across Scotland. You will also play a key role in protected sites policy development and advocacy, working directly with government, public bodies, and businesses, as well as with RSPB colleagues and our partners across the UK. You will have the opportunity to work closely with RSPB Scotland’s policy, campaigns, communications and on-the-ground conservation staff, putting policy into practice.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or ability to show equivalent ability through work experience.
• A good understanding of environment/biodiversity legislation, public policy and its implications for conservation practice in relation to protected areas and protected landscapes.
• A good understanding of Scotland’s governmental and political institutions relevant to protected areas and landscapes.
• A good understanding of the role of public facing communications/campaigns in supporting policy advocacy.
• Able to analyse complex issues in a fast paced environment coupled with well-honed political acumen.
• Effective negotiation and influencing skills relevant to role.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentational), including an ability to speak confidently and cogently in public to a variety of audiences, including those with opposing views.
