We are looking for a new Advocate to join our team in Elgin and the surrounding area. We are seeking applicants who have transferable skills, a willingness to learn and a desire to help those in need of support or already have a Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Elgin and the surrounding area. You will be involved in one-to-one advocacy along with group work across the area; this could be in a clients’ home or other suitable community venue and be home based for telephone referrals and administrative tasks. Therefore, access to your own transportation and a suitable home internet connection is essential.
This is a full time role for 35 hours per week, applicants who do not hold the Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy will start on £22,500 per annum pro-rata.
About you
We actively encourage applications from those who are long term unemployed.
Desirably you will have some experience of working, providing welfare, supporting, or caring for Adults or young people who have support needs, ideally for those with a variety of communication needs, mental ill health, physical health issues, or barriers to accessing education, training, benefits, employment, care and support.
You should have worked or volunteered in health, social care, welfare, support services, education or young person’s services, or advice and guidance.
How will you make a difference?
You will be responsible for ensuring the individual’s wishes, feelings, beliefs, needs, and values are met to create positive outcomes for the people you support.
You will support people to speak up for themselves and grow in confidence, equip them to understand and exercise their rights and options.
You will work resourcefully and collaboratively with the individuals you support. You’ll be creative in your approach to empower our clients by ensuring you meaningfully explain people’s options and rights to them. You’ll support individuals to fully participate in decisions affecting them and will make sure they have their voices heard. This can be through 1-2-1 advocacy or in a group setting.

The PG Dip CAPNiP programme is an exciting distance learning programme from Anna Freud and UCL. The programme is targeted towards professionals working with children and young people, to support their understanding and application of the latest psychological research and practice to their working lives. The programme is delivered entirely remotely to the global cohort, using a range of online learning tools and strategies to support networking and connection amongst students; it brings together a diverse range of views and expertise from academics, experts by experience and clinicians, to support students understanding of a range of topics relevant to the wellbeing of young people.
The programme holds a particular focus on trauma and trauma-informed practice, including a specialist module on working with the impact of trauma, and on trauma-informed practice in education. The programme runs for one year full-time, or two years part-time.

The PG Dip CAPNiP programme started running in September 2023, and the post-holder will therefore have the opportunity to contribute to the programme at an exciting point in its development. We have a brilliant global group of students, who are working across countries and cultures to support children, young people and their families. Transition Together is seeking to continue the work of deepening connection and growing the voice of the Transition Movement in England and Wales through the freelance engagement of three Network Weavers. This exciting project will see this team, supported by Transition Together staff, co-design an in person Transition Assembly early next year to guide the future of our Movement in the UK as well as build relationships with Transitioners across Wales and England and connect to emerging and established networks across the UK. We’re looking for an enthusiastic Data Officer who has experience working with relational databases with a strong understanding of data protection and electronic marketing regulation. This role is ideal for someone who is methodical, enjoys a varied to-do list, and is committed to continuous professional development.
The right candidate will have experience working with databases in a fundraising or marketing context, be comfortable wrangling and cleaning data and possess the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively. If you have experience with data analysis and visualisation that’s even better!
About the Role
As a Data Officer at Myeloma UK, you will be supporting the charity as we implement a brand-new data strategy. You will ensure our data is handled with the highest care, complying with best practice in data protection, and be involved in projects covering data management, data cleaning, reporting, and analysis.
Some of your varied responsibilities will include:
· Collaborate across the charity assessing our processing and help to manage communication preferences, data assets, including maintaining the Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) log.
· Support us in assessing new and existing data processing to ensure we follow privacy by design principles.
· Enhance data flows from multiple sources to our CRM, providing training and support to colleagues where needed.
· Contribute to the development and execution of a brand-new data strategy, improving our charity’s data maturity through staff training and promoting best practice.
· Create dashboards and visualisations, identify trends, and provide insights to enhance how we work.
