CISWO is a national charity whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities facing disadvantage due to the impact of the coal mining industry.
We are looking for a development manager with a range of skills and experiences to support other mining charities develop a sustainable future. You will have a background in partnership working and developing funding opportunities, as well as a good understanding of charity governance.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in community and / or business development with a good knowledge of the charity sector.
As Development Manager, you will:
- Support mining charities to develop business plans and budgeting and help them to identify funding opportunities and develop funding proposals.
- Provide secretariat services to mining related regional grant making charities.
- Contribute to the development of and promote the organisations support offer for other mining charities, seeking new methods of supporting local trustees.
- Support the recruitment and training of local trustees and officers, encouraging good governance
- Develop local partnership working with other voluntary sector organisations, tiers of local government and local communities.
- Ensure the organisation interests and responsibilities in partner charities are retained and fulfilled.
- Represent the organisation with external parties, including, welfare charities, councils and local authorities as required

About the Role
The CEO will provide leadership to Embracing Age and to be responsible for the management and administration of the charity, in partnership with and reporting to the trustees. You'll lead, inspire and motivate staff and volunteers, whilst upholding and developing the Christian ethos, vision, mission and values of Embracing Age, along with the strategic objectives and priorities.

Responsible for:

You’ll be leading and broadening our commercial offer, helping us drive even greater impact in water efficiency, and the income to support it, across the UK. You’ll refine our proposition and pricing of existing services, seeking opportunities to cross-sell additional services to existing audiences, as well as broadening our reach, engaging with completely new audiences and developing and shaping new commercial services aligned to new customer needs. Reporting into the Director of Children’s Services, the post holder has Registered Manager responsibilities for a wide-reaching geographical area which will have a staff team of Social Workers, Family Finding Worker, Engagement & Activity Practitioner, Consultants, Panel Members and Administration team. The post holder will prioritise trauma informed and therapeutic methodologies and actively support and encourage diversity and inclusion within all aspects of the role.

Key responsibilities

Work on the development of technical frameworks, guidelines, standards, certification or audit processes relevant for implementing regulation for children’s rights in the digital environment at international, EU and UK levels.
