We provide therapies and support to those living with long term neurological conditions or who have a neuro divergence in Cornwall. As Head of Income Generation you will lead a small team to increase income and awareness of this well-respected health charity through fundraising and marketing activities. The postholder will be a member of the Senior Management Team and will contribute to the strategic direction and day-to-day operational management of the charity. We have an ambitious target to increase income by circa 60% over the next three years - therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of meeting and exceeding fundraising targets - to ensure the charity is financially sustainable.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

Communications and Marketing:

• Develop engaging content for various channels (social media, website, newsletters) specifically targeting young people and raising awareness about mental health.

• Assist with the creation of marketing materials and campaigns focused on young people's mental health.

• Support public awareness initiatives related to young people's mental health.

Fundraising:

• Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to secure financial resources for the young people's mental health programmes.

• Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors and grant-making bodies.

• Prepare grant proposals and reports.

• Assist with fundraising events and initiatives.

Impact Reporting:

• Compile and analyse data to create detailed impact reports for each young people's mental health programme delivered.

• Ensure accurate documentation and collection of evaluations and feedback from young participants.

Administrative Tasks:

• Undertake administrative duties necessary for the smooth operation of the young people's mental health programmes.

• Maintain accurate records, including programme schedules, volunteer details, and partnership information.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, youth work) or equivalent work experience.

• Previous experience in programme management, preferably in a youth mental health or charity setting.

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Psychometrician

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Management Team:

• As part of the Management Team to oversee the function of the organisation and its strategic development, especially in relation to SRS’s advice service

Service Development

• Be responsible for developing the advice service according to organisational needs and strategy

 Team Management:

• To line manage and develop a team of Advice Workers and Reception/Admin Officer, to ensure they are suitably trained and supported to deliver a high-quality advice service across the county
• To line manage the Employment and Training Coordinator to ensure the employment and training team delivers an effective and cohesive service, which complements the work of the advice team

 Management of Advice Service and Direct Service Provision:

• To ensure that the advice service promotes equality of access to all asylum seekers and refugees (clients) seeking advice and that they feel welcome and effectively supported
• To manage the advice team across the following areas:

1. To assess clients’ needs and propose actions to address these needs (e.g. writing letters or emails and/or making telephone calls) in a professional manner

Immigration support lead

• To develop good relationships with immigration legal services and solicitors to ensure that clients can access the information they require and that clients understand the processes they are going through

 Vulnerable Client & Safeguarding Lead

• To be the support lead for very vulnerable clients or where there are cases with safeguarding concerns

Client representation

• To promote the views and experiences of SRS’s clients at external meetings and advisory boards, by participation in face to face and virtual meetings and in giving occasional presentations, using on-the-ground knowledge

Partnership working

• To develop and maintain good working relationships with external service providers and agencies, and to oversee joint working and services development

Monitoring, Evaluation and Donor Reporting

• To ensure services given and outcomes achieved are recorded on internal monitoring systems and that data protection regulations are adhered to
• To provide monthly summary reports for the Charity Manager and board of trustees

Include was founded in 2018, in response to an identified lack of opportunity and support for people with communication needs and has grown steadily ever since. This post has been created in response to that growth and achievement.

The Operations and Business Development Lead will play an important role in overseeing effective organisational service delivery and working closely with the CEO to develop the role of the charity within Surrey and beyond. The role requires overseeing delivery of key projects, managing a small team of staff and volunteers, developing long-term business plans and curating relationships with new partners and funders to ensure Include has the resilience to deliver against its mission into the future.

As OBD Lead, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team working with the CEO, Finance & Data Lead, Communications & Partnerships Lead & Clinical Lead to develop and deliver Include’s core services and processes, with an eye for sustainability, impact and long-term growth.

This is a hybrid role. You will be asked to assist at events or performances, in addition to regularly attending sessions and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Develop, support, and improve service delivery of key activities
• Review and improve impact measurement processes
• Review and improve policies and procedures
• Review and improve governance frameworks
• Manage a team of staff and chair meetings
• Support with HR functions and structural
• Prepare and create reports for the benefit of CEO and board of trustees

Business Development and Fundraising

• Develop new relationships to improve the profile and reach of the charity
• Support the fundraising team with grant applications, community fundraising, donor management or corporate support as required
• Identify new revenue streams and opportunities
• Oversee, develop and support the funding strategy to ensure financial resilience
• Develop and update the organisation’s business plan
• Work with the senior leadership team to set achievable KPIs

 Event Management

•  Manage and coordinate Include events
• Evaluate event delivery and ROI

Volunteer Coordination

• Oversee and support volunteer recruitment including supported volunteers

You’ll be responsible for managing the legacy and in memoriam (in mem) marketing programme, including annual budget proposals and analysis. You’ll promote legacy and in mem giving to both internal and external audiences, using a variety of techniques and media, including direct mail, telemarketing, digital, national events and internal cross-team working

Reporting into the Legacy Manager, you will either be able to work in a hybrid way working between home and 2 days per week at our London office or remotely working from home with a requirement to attend our London office for a team anchor day once a month.

About You:

Having previously worked within a direct marketing team within the charity sector, you’ll have experience project managing campaigns with external agencies and internal stakeholders utilising a variety of fundraising channels such as digital, email, social media, direct mail, and telemarketing. 

You’ll also have gained experience using Dynamics 365, Raisers Edge or a similar database. 

About The Role

• Lead on the planning and implementation of legacy and in mem fundraising portfolio, managing marketing campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis. 
• Develop and maintain sustainable relationships with in mem supporters and legacy prospects in local communities, with the support of community fundraising managers and local volunteers – keeping these supporters at the heart of your work to to maintain and increase their support through excellent stewardship. 
• Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends. 
• Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.
