The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences - is seeking a Regional Manager to join our friendly and collaborative team in the Research Directorate, providing key support in the delivery of the Early Career Researcher Network.

The ECRN Regional Manager will work closely with the Head of ECRN to oversee the day-to-day operations and logistics of the Network. This includes line management of three Regional Coordinators, as well as supporting budget oversight and financial management across all regional activities.

You will contribute to the development and implementation of efficient working systems, policies, and processes, and collaborate with the Head of ECRN to identify and resolve operational challenges as they arise.

A core responsibility of the role is to lead on the delivery and coordination of ECRN activities. This includes line managing three Regional Coordinators; overseeing and supporting regional clusters; processing invoices and monitoring budgets; preparing reports and updates for internal and external audiences; identifying growth opportunities for the Network; liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role, will bring strong project management skills, financial and budget oversight experience, and a background in line management within an office or organisational setting. Strategic thinking, proactivity, and resilience are essential, alongside the ability to prioritise effectively and solve problems in dynamic environments.

You will be an excellent communicator, capable of building collaborative relationships with colleagues across the British Academy and beyond, including external facilitators, partners, and stakeholders. Your keen attention to detail, inclusive mindset, and commitment to team-oriented working will be central to maintaining the quality, coherence, and impact of programme delivery. You’ll bring clarity, empathy, and professionalism to every interaction, helping shape a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Please note that the position will involve travel between ECRN regional clusters to support in-person delivery of training and workshops, alongside regular online engagement.

About You

As the Philanthropy Manager, you will be a confident and persuasive communicator, comfortable engaging with supporters and stakeholders at all levels. You will have a solid knowledge of philanthropic giving and a deep appreciation of the value of high-quality donor stewardship. Highly organised and detail-focused, you will enjoy working with data and be skilled at producing compelling content both on and offline. The Philanthropy Manager is a new donor-facing role, which will focus on expanding and strengthening a major donor portfolio to increase five and six figure income from individual donors and family trusts for Art UK. You will lead on managing and growing Art UK’s philanthropic giving programme, which includes the Patrons and supporter events programme and our major donor activity. Working within an ambitious team, you will have the support of a freelance Prospect Researcher to identify new prospects, and the Development Manager and CRM Officer to develop donor journeys and relationship management systems. You will report to the Head of Development, work closely with the CEO and Chair of the Philanthropy Board, and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a robust prospect pipeline through identification, research, cultivation and relationship-building to secure five-figure gifts and long-term support
• Manage a portfolio of mid-level individual donors, converting one-off supporters into deeper donor relationships
• Manage and grow Art UK’s mid-level regular giving programme, strengthening donor relationships through face-to face meetings, events and personalised communication
• Develop donor development strategies, using CRM to analysis and identify higher gift prospects from existing donor pool and maximise giving potential
• Lead on major gifts for annual Big Give campaigns, identifying and securing keystone pledge donors, and leveraging networks to reach giving targets

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic, creative and proactive public affairs professional to lead our influencing work on ageism and inequalities, including our campaign for a Commissioner for Older People and Ageing; the development of an ageing society strategy; and work to address inequalities in experiences of ageing and support those groups who need it most .

In this role, you’ll shape and deliver an ambitious communications and influencing strategy that raises the profile of our policy issues in parliament and the media and builds support for our policy solutions among national and local government and wider sector leaders.

Working closely with colleagues in the ageism, inequalities and comms teams, you’ll design and deliver impactful communications activity across the channels most likely to increase our influence – from direct engagement and events to media, marketing and social content.

At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi, Cambodia and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world. Communications Officer

Location: Home-based in the UK, within 90 minutes travel of Central London, with occasional national and international travel

We are looking for a permanent and full-time member of staff to help develop and communicate RSTMH’s role within tropical medicine and global health. We need a passionate and creative communicator who can play a key role in meeting our communications objectives. This role is office-based in central London, with the option to work from home on Mondays.

RSTMH is a membership society formed in 1907, with around 1,800 members and Fellows in over 100 countries. We work to improve tropical medicine and global health by enabling and promoting research, sharing knowledge and convening networks through our members and Fellows and beyond. The Communications Manager will have the opportunity to develop and enhance RSTMH’s reputation as a credible and trusted voice in tropical medicine and global health.

This is a wide-ranging and exciting role. You will lead on implementing the organisation’s communications strategy, working with the leadership team to ensure it meets the aims of the wider RSTMH strategy. You’ll maintain and further develop the website and social media platforms, build links with media contacts, and source, commission and develop content.
