About Us

Millimetres 2 Mountains Foundation (M2M) is a charity dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives after experiencing physical or emotional trauma. Founded by former professional rugby player Ed Jackson and his wife, Lois, following Ed’s life-changing spinal injury, M2M uses the power of adventure, nature, and community to support people on their journey of recovery. 

At the heart of the charity lies the M2M Development Programme - a bespoke, holistic support system tailored to each beneficiary’s unique recovery journey. Through one-to-one mentorship, a nurturing community, and the transformative power of the outdoors (culminating in life-changing mountain expeditions abroad), M2M empowers individuals to rediscover purpose, rebuild confidence, and move forward with lasting resilience. We take on eight new beneficiaries each year, supporting up to 24 individuals at any one time. Guided by our ‘inch-wide, mile-deep’ philosophy, we focus on depth of impact over scale, ensuring each person receives the tools, encouragement, and care needed to create life-long change. This includes access to grants for physiotherapy, psychotherapy, job retraining, and any other support essential to their growth. Everyone is met exactly where they are, with a personalised plan that reflects their goals, challenges, and potential.

In addition to our core programmes, M2M runs Together Outdoors  - an initiative that harnesses the healing power of nature and connection through community-based mental health walks. Led by trained volunteers and Life Coaches, these walks offer safe, inclusive spaces for honest conversations, emotional support, and personal growth. Whether on a remote peak or a local path, M2M believes in the life-changing potential of movement, shared experience, and the great outdoors.

The Role

We’re seeking an organised, enthusiastic Community & Events Coordinator to help us deliver our Together Outdoors community walks and events, as well as key moments within our M2M Development Programme for beneficiaries. This role will play a vital part in deepening relationships with our growing supporter base and expanding our impact. You’ll work closely with our Charity Manager, Co-Founder, volunteers, and external partners to bring meaningful experiences to life.

We’re looking for someone kind, compassionate, and passionate about the outdoors and the power it holds to support mental health. You’ll be a clear communicator and natural team player - proactive, organised, and creatively minded when it comes to solving problems. While experience in fundraising, events, customer service, or administration is welcome, what matters most is a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to grow. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver M2M’s community and beneficiary events, managing logistics, communications, and on-the-day coordination (driving license required) and post-event evaluation.

• Oversee the M2M UK events calendar and support budget planning for each activity.

• Coordinate and support volunteers, especially those leading Together Outdoors walks across the UK.

• Liaise with external providers and partners for UK-based adventure experiences.

• Manage and maintain our CRM system to track sign-ups, engagement, and communications.

• Update website content with event listings, registration links, and community updates.

• Work closely with our social media lead to publicise events, event fundraising campaigns and boost visibility.

• Support the creation of new wellness and fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the wider team.

• Helping with fundraising campaign and event logistics, materials and administration to keep everything running smoothly.

• Contribute to our overall community engagement strategy and identify opportunities for growth and connection.

• Experience in events coordination or community fundraising (ideally within the third sector).

The Role

As Global Head of Finance, you will lead a small, dedicated international team, overseeing strategic financial planning, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across UK and US entities.

You’ll play a key role on the Fund’s management team, ensuring financial integrity, promoting sustainable growth, and partnering across functions to embed strong financial practices organisation-wide.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to guide long-term financial direction while staying closely connected to day-to-day operations and people.

• Financial planning, reporting and strategy: managing annual budget cycle, produce monthly, quarterly and annual finance reports.
• Compliance, Audit and Risk Management: Oversee annual audits for both US and UK entities, support compliance checks and procurement systems meet organisational and donor requirements.
• Investment, Treasury and External Relations: Monitor and management investment and cash accounts across both the US and UK – optimising returns. Managing external banking, investment and lease negotiations, managing annual vendor negotiations and renewals globally.
• Systems optimisation and process improvement.
• Team leadership: Lead and support the finance team, reviewing outputs, resolving issues to support high performance. Oversee financial training to all budget holders to maintain financial literacy and accountability across the organisation.

Essential experience

The successful candidate will possess blends of technical financial expertise with operational leadership with a continuous commitment to purpose-driven work. You will have:

• Professional financial qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

This is a varied and fast-paced role for an outstanding EU Communications Officer with a proven track record of securing high-level media coverage for environmental campaigns and delivering policy impact. We are looking for someone with a passion for our work and the drive, experience and skills to build our audiences, raise the profile of our campaigns and get our perspectives in front of key decision-makers.

This role would suit someone with strong experience in journalism or working in a press office, with a passion for placing impactful stories which drive real-world progress for a more sustainable planet.

You will have a demonstrable ability to understand our audiences and develop communications strategies to reach them. You will enjoy meeting and briefing journalists, enthusiastically reaching out to 'sell' our key stories. You will gain significant media coverage for EJF’s messages in key outlets both across the EU and in individual Member States. The successful candidate will work independently to ensure a steady flow of high-quality press outreach, as well as pitching and writing articles and op-eds to promote our perspectives. You will know which outlets key political decision-makers read, and how to place material with them.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement integrated communication plans and campaigns to support EJF’s policy work in the EU

• Ensure impactful and consistent coverage of our campaigns, and the issues they cover, in high-profile media outlets

• Prepare press releases and media packs for report launches and external developments, ensuring both proactive and reactive coverage

• Respond swiftly to media enquiries

• Research and actively engage media contacts and outlets, remotely and in person, to increase EJF’s reach, building a database to record and evaluate this outreach

• Work with our communications team around the world to develop coordinated media strategies across geographies and languages

• Evaluate and report on our press performance, making recommendations for ongoing improvement

Essential skills and attributes

• Professional fluency (including excellent writing and editing skills) in English and either French or Spanish

• At least 3 years of experience working in communications, a press office, journalism or similar, with a particular focus on high-level traditional media outlets

• Knowledge of media relations, developing communication materials, writing content for different channels and developing social media campaigns

• Experience of and confidence in dealing with journalists from different types of media to ensure effective coverage

• An effective knowledge of the media outlets read by political decision-makers in the EU, and how to place articles in them

Who we are

Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is an international NGO that has been working with indigenous peoples and forest peoples since 1990. We work in 18 countries across South and Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, with around 50 partner organisations based in the tropical forest belt.

We work directly and in solidarity with communities and peoples, supporting them to secure their rights to their traditional lands, territories, and resources, protect their forests and ways of life, and choose their own futures.

The role

Consistent with our Theory of Change, Forest Peoples Programme’s advocacy and communications strategies are diverse and decentralized. They are generated in a largely bottom-up way with our partners, via our program staff (organised in country and thematic teams). This allows us to be sensitive to local social, political and legal contexts, and partner priorities. It also guides our highly collaborative approach to communications. 

Communications at FPP is as much about facilitating exchanges among partners and between Indigenous peoples and forest peoples, as it is about communicating with policy makers, academics, and a broader public. FPP’s core principle of the right to self-determination means that we strive to ensure that FPP’s own ‘voice’ is consistent with the priorities and aspirations of Indigenous peoples and forest peoples. That we compliment and amplify, but neither diminish nor eclipse, the voices of Indigenous peoples and forest peoples themselves. 

FPP’s communications team is embarking on a period of restructuring and reorienting. The goal is to become better placed to support a strategic approach to communications in our programmatic and country-focused work, while retaining a core function of handling FPP’s central/organizational communications needs.

As part of that restructuring, this new post of Senior Media and Communications Officer will serve a dual purpose of providing additional capacity in the day-to-day activities of the department, and taking a leading role in rolling out our restructuring plans. There may be some responsibilities around cultivating media relations, and/or line management responsibilities, depending on the profile of the successful candidate. The role reports directly to the Communications Coordinator, who will be working restricted hours for the first 10 months of this appointment.

FPP works with 52 long-term partners and allies, across 18 countries. The Senior Media and Communications Officer will gain a good working knowledge of the entire landscape, and intimate knowledge of some specific contexts in which FPP teams are focused. Fundamentally of course, we are all accountable to the Indigenous peoples and forest peoples we work with and for.

Initially, the role is likely to have a heavy focus on rolling out the new team structure and strategy, transitioning within a year to focus more on media relations or advocacy-linked strategic communications, depending on the profile of the recruit.

About you

This post would suit an experienced practitioner with a good understanding of communicating in a multilingual, cross-cultural, and highly consultative environment. Additional languages (especially French or Bahasa Indonesia) are a distinct advantage.

Essential requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience in communications work in an international, collaborative, and advocacy-focussed environment. This will have ideally been within an indigenous peoples’ organisation, or NGO, advocacy or international context.
• Experience of work in multilingual and cross-cultural contexts and environments, preferably with indigenous peoples or local communities.
• Strong alignment with FPP’s vision, mission and values, including commitment to human rights (in particular the rights of Indigenous peoples and forest peoples), as well as interest in the interface between the rights of Indigenous and forest peoples, biodiversity and climate protection, political economy, and international affairs. An unwavering commitment to the self-determination of all peoples.
• Demonstrable experience of strategic thinking regarding advocacy, communications and media, and in planning and implementing projects in a collaborative way.
• Demonstrable experience of communicating complex advocacy issues and grassroots experiences in compelling, creative ways, to a wide range of audiences across a wide range of media.
• Strong media relations experience, at national and international levels. An existing network of relevant media contacts is a distinct advantage.
• You must be able to manage your own workload, and set your own limits. You will need to have the confidence to say no to colleagues, and the people skills to maintain positive working relationships while you do so. A positive attitude, and an ability to be sensitive, flexible and adaptable to changing contexts and evolving strategies, is vital.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with demonstratable experience of writing copy, editing and publishing for print and digital media. Experience in producing multimedia products (films, animations, graphics, podcasts, websites etc) is also highly desirable.

 provides 24 hour supported accommodation housing up to 34 young people aged 16-25 who have multiple and complex needs, including many who are unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs and relationship building. Situated in the centre of Guildford, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community.

Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Guildford Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing:

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team

Coaching and Engagement:

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)

About the role

We’re looking for a Social Worker to support children and young people diagnosed with cancer in our Glasgow Team. 

We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality support tailored to the needs of the children and young people and their families using a needs based assessment framework. The work we do is rewarding but also complex and demanding. You will be part of a close-knit Young Lives vs Cancer social work team, working with an established NHS multi-disciplinary team and services in the community.

This role is part home, part site-based. Your contractual base will be both Home and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre/Royal Children`s Hospital.

What do I need? 

The key skills we’re looking for in this role are:

• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment, ideally in an NHS setting.
