An exciting opportunity to join a small team working to provide primary health and mental health services to people seeking safety in the UK. The postholder will have the opportunity to work with our medical teams to deliver psychoeducation sessions to people living in asylum accommodation across the UK and be the key connecter between the project team and the service users.

The successful candidate will have experience working with people in the asylum system and an understanding of mental health needs for people going through the asylum system. We are looking for people with fluency in at least one of the key languages: Farsi, Arabic, Kurdish Sorani, Kurdish Badani, Amharic, Tigrinya, Pashto, Daari.

Locations will be flexible and contingent on needs so the postholder will need to be open to travelling to different places across the UK to deliver services.

Job Purpose:

Note this is a joint Doctors of the World UK (DOTW) and MSF project where DOTW is the clinical operational partner and as such the successful candidate will also follow DOTW clinical and safeguarding protocol.

To Support the communication and interaction between target population (migrants and refugees) and care providers (MSF; Partners and NHS), through addressing consequences of language barriers, sociocultural differences, and discrimination.

To support in the carrying out of key activities including facilitation and support for facilitation of psychoeducation sessions to service users. There may also be some work to support the running of the mobile clinic including translation support and casework.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• At least a secondary level of education is required.
• Degree in social sciences, social communication or teaching is desirable.
• Professional course and/or training in interpretation or intercultural mediation is an asset.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in medical settings with MSF or other NGOs.
• Previous experience in PFA (psychological first aid) or mental health settings is desirable.
• Previous experience in migration/refugees’ contexts is essential.
• Fluent in Amharic, Arabic, Dari, Kurdish, Pashto, Persian or Tigrinya is an advantage
• Knowledge of migration dynamics and of the affected population.
• Experience in the practical use of personal IT equipment and Microsoft Office 365 suite.  The ability to effectively collaborate and communicate within a hybrid working environment utilising Teams, SharePoint, One Drive and Yammer.

The Regional Fundraisers role is to mobilise and maximise local fundraising activities in order to raise income to support the work of the charity.  Working to the Director of Fundraising and with other senior fundraising staff, develop and implement a comprehensive regional fundraising strategy to maximize income generation and donor engagement within the region.  You will be required to be proactive within your area to identify opportunities for fundraising and raise awareness of the Charity as well as identify, cultivate, and grow relationships with community groups, schools, individuals, and corporate donors within the region, focusing on donor retention and growth.  You will also organise and coordinate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives within your region, including virtual and in-person events when applicable.

The Bone Cancer Research Trust strives to provide a supportive network for all primary bone cancer patients to limit their feelings of isolation and anxiety. Given the rarity of the disease, patients can often go through their entire treatment and recovery without meeting another patient, so external support is vital.

Over the last 4 years, our Support & Information Service has seen significant growth, and developed to become a leading source of support for patients, family members, siblings and friends of patients.  Our Support & Information team provide enduring support and ensure that this can be accessed at any point in a primary bone cancer journey and by anyone affected.

Our aim is to increase the reach of the service further, ensuring that all patients diagnosed in the UK have the opportunity to access our Support & Information Service.  The Support & Information Officer will play a pivatol role in achieving this through building lasting relationships with both patients and families and healthcare professionals.

The Network Lead plays a central role in helping us achieve our vision to end the need for food banks in the UK. This is a varied, proactive and fast-paced role that involves representing the Trussell Trust on policy and public affairs and key stakeholder relationships in South West, the leadership of a dynamic team of area managers that supports the network of food banks in the South West to deliver emergency food, and the coordination of projects and partnerships to support the food banks in our network to reduce the need for their services locally. 

Role responsibilities 

• Strategic Leadership: Manage the delivery of food bank operations in the nation and key strategic projects that are part of the Trussell Trust’s five-year strategy to end the need for food banks.

About the role

What will you be doing?

As a Service Manager at Hft, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those we support and you will help the Regional Service Managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for Hft to help ensure we have the best staff teams offering great support services. This role also offers great opportunities for career progression to help you develop your knowledge and skills.

You will assist the Regional Service Manager by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the registered service. You will also have the responsibility to manage the performance of your team; including your team’s delivery of care and support which promotes dignity, wellbeing and independence and a person-centred culture.

Alongside the Regional Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service.

As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an exemplary role model.

As a Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts on a rota basis, including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.

A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for the role.

- About you
- You will have experience supporting adults with complex learning disabilities.
- You need good IT skills and experience of maintaining records to be a success in this role.???????
- You will have knowledge of CQC regulations
- You need to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or acceptable equivalent) OR have the ability to achieve this within 18 months of appointment.
- You will have detailed knowledge of Health and Safety issues, and Safeguarding regulations

Home based within Northern Ireland, with travel to UK team away days, staff conferences and 1-2-1

Through management of the policy and public affairs function in Northern Ireland, the Policy & Public Affairs Manager will ensure the Trussell Trust strengthens its influence in Northern Ireland and helps bring about the policy changes required to end the need for food banks. 

Using specialist policy knowledge about the structural causes of poverty and hunger in Northern Ireland and the UK, and sound political and procedural knowledge, the Policy & Public Affairs Manager will ensure our policy influencing has a robust evidence base and manage advocacy strategies to achieve policy change at different levels of government, with a particular focus on national government in NI (Stormont) and ensuring close alignment with the Trussell Trust’s work to influence the UK Government (Westminster). 

Role responsibilities 

• Strategy: Support the Northern Ireland Network Lead in the development and delivery of the Changing Policy strand of the Trussell Trust’s organisational strategy, with a specific focus on the role of key stakeholders in NI in ending the need for food banks, and supporting the alignment of policy advocacy across the UK nations and regions. 

• Policy advocacy plans: Establish and maintain momentum in policy advocacy plans for the Trussell Trust in NI, and inform wider influencing across audiences, through strong internal networks. 

• Policy and public affairs:  Support the Northern Ireland Network Lead with developing and implementing the Trussell Trust’s policy positions on priority issues and public affairs activity in support of our changing policy goals, including impact measurement. 

• Research and analysis: Undertake research and analysis and disseminate research findings to a range of audiences through written and verbal briefings, working collaboratively with the Research and Operations teams to build a robust evidence base for the organisation’s policy and public affairs activity in NI. 

• Partnerships and networks: Build collaborative external partnerships and develop networks to strengthen policy and public affairs activity in NI and represent the Trussell Trust and promote the organisation’s policy positions to external stakeholders and audiences, including NI Government and the media. 

• Campaigns: Work with OLM colleagues and the Northern Ireland Network Lead to ensure campaigning activity supports and strengthens policy and public affairs work, and the organisation amplifies the voice of the food bank network and people with lived experience of poverty. 

Person Specification 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge: 

• Policy expertise: Demonstrates a detailed understanding of policies that affect poverty and hunger in NI and the UK. Can explain policy motivations of the main political parties and can advise on how most effectively to influence them. Track record of developing policy positions and recommendations based on robust evidence, and delivering strategic policy and public affairs activity from development to evaluation. 

• Public affairs expertise: Can explain components of effective political influencing, including detailed knowledge of the machinery and structure of government (UK, NI, local) and experience of informing campaigns activity to mobilise support for policy change. Track record of successfully influencing politicians and key decision-makers across the political spectrum, building broad based support to achieve strategic goals at different levels of government. 

• Managing projects, particularly for policy and public affairs purposes, with a clear understanding of key steps in the project cycle.

This is a full-time role on an initial 2-year fixed term contract. The charity offer hybrid working from their national office in London, Victoria with a minimum expectation of working from their office 2 days per week.

The Senior Events Executive role is a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredible committee of volunteers to deliver their prestigious flagship event for the Charity and in the City of London. This position provides an opportunity to join an already successful event and develop it further.

Key Responsibilities:

· To project manage, deliver, and coordinate all aspects of our flagship City event, as well as all affiliated events.

· Work with the Committee and the Co-Chairman to deliver agreed net income, participation and profile-raising targets.

· Deliver key supporting and stewardship events; including the launch and thank you party, the commemorative garden launch and committee events.

· Develop and deliver, creative and effective marketing plans for our flagship event, ensuring we reach both warm and cold individual and corporate audiences.

· Support the wider events programme as appropriate.

Person Specification:

· Excellent administrative abilities and experience of managing competing priorities.

· Event experience as part of a fundraising team.

· Setting income targets and meeting or exceeding them from events.

The Programme Officer is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the annual member programme and conducting research to ensure the Association of Chief Executives and the Public Chairs' Forum continue to provide a compelling and responsive offering to its members. 

The Programme Officer ensures ACE and PCF remain in step with changing member needs and interests.

1. Manage delivery of a wide range of community activities 

• Shapes proposals for events and sessions, based on member insight and desk research.

• Promotes activities through fortnightly member updates and a variety of communications and media tools to reach different target groups.

• Supports improvements to membership offering, based on feedback and data intelligence. 

2. Secure a sustainable future for PCF and ACE  

• Provides support to the development and delivery of membership engagement campaigns. 

• Maintains membership programme engagement records. 

• Manages resources effectively. 

3. Secure the reputation of PCF and ACE as a credible voice for public bodies.  

• Contributes to relationships with key stakeholders, including Cabinet Office, government departments, public bodies and Institute for Government.

• Plays an active role in contributing to research projects which stimulate debate and inform improving practice.

• Contributes ideas and content for circulation across communication channels - web, socials, trade press - to increase the profile of PCF and ACE.

4. Ensure smooth and effective operations of PCF and ACE. 

• Contributes to regular reporting to the Chairs and Boards of both PCF and ACE.

• Contributes general administration and operational support as required.
