Shout Out UK (SOUK) is a UK-based award-winning political and media literacy organisation with nearly a decade of experience in delivering impactful educational campaigns. Our mission is to defend and amplify democracy by equipping individuals with the critical thinking skills needed to navigate the complex information landscape and engage as informed, active citizens. The Position:

You will be joining our small, passionate NGO to lead our resource development. Reporting directly to the Head of Programmes, you will be tasked with developing and producing educational programmes and materials on topics such as Political & Media Literacy, counter-extremism, and online safety. This will involve ensuring resource related KPIs are met within budget and on time, alongside supporting our Head of Programmes in coordinating delivery of projects. Some projects may be handled by you directly at times. Projects and resources can vary from developing media literacy workshops for schools, creating digital assets for counter-extremism training and campaigns, to planning content for city-wide democratic engagement campaigns.

This position requires an enhanced DBS check, provided by SOUK, in accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding policies.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, update and design learning and campaign resources for schools, colleges and for digital campaigns.

• Support the Head of Programmes in managing and delivering on our diverse projects. 

• Run relevant projects yourself as required.

• Recruit, coordinate and support schools and teachers across the UK to take on our political and media literacy workshops and projects.

• Establish and maintain effective relationships with teachers, councils and other stakeholders.

• Produce and update Elearning resources.

• Occasionally travel nationally and/or internationally, if required.

• Fulfil other duties as reasonably requested.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in resource and curriculum development, preferably in the education or related sector.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail) and other relevant software.

• A strong interest in political and media literacy, civic engagement, and addressing online harms.

• Ability to work independently and proactively, taking initiative to solve problems.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms and virtual communication tools.

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, social sciences, communications) is preferred.

• Strong writing skills are desirable.

Above all, you understand the resource needs required by schools, sixth forms, and further education colleges. You can build strong relationships with teachers and support staff, and you excel at networking, negotiating, persuading, and problem-solving, all while remaining flexible to meet the needs of teachers and practitioners. You have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

About the Role

As part of our collaborative Finance Business Partnering team, you’ll support fundraising, communications, advocacy, and activism across Mencap. You’ll provide clear financial advice, insightful analysis, and strong financial management to ensure our fundraising income is used effectively to benefit people with learning disabilities.

Over the next five years Mencap have big ambitions to significantly grow our fundraising income and increase our influencing and campaigning impact to ensure people with a learning disability can live life to the full.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with directorate teams to create robust budgets and forecasts, offering support and advice for realistic financial planning.
• Providing clear financial reports and analysis to help teams understand results, spot emerging issues, and make informed decisions.
• Supporting complex income forecasting (e.g. legacies), using scenario analysis to guide planning and assess risk.
• Delivering financial analysis and modelling to support investment decisions.
• Ensuring funding applications and management of restricted funds are accurate and compliant.
• Improving finance processes and reporting, including with our new Salesforce fundraising CRM system.
• Acting as key contact for external auditors and funders regarding fundraising financials.

• Managing and coaching an FBP team member, supporting their development.

About the Role

The Head of SBC (Social and Behaviour Change) and Inclusion is a critical technical leadership position that supports country programmes to design solutions that improve attitudes, support for and uptake of sexual and reproductive health services across communities.  This includes guiding and building capacity in user-centred design principles to ensure projects are inclusive and responsive to the needs of the audience.  It also means incorporating best practice to create programming that is gender transformative and equitable. This role will be focused on the “Leaving No One Behind” Pillar of the MSI 2030 strategy with a special focus on reaching key populations and vulnerable groups including adolescents, people living with disability and people in extreme poverty.

This role will also be responsible for coordinating with donor teams and supporting programmes to ensure completion of key donor deliverables related to SBC and GESI Gender Equality and Social Inclusion).

In addition, you will be supporting and guiding the Country Training Officers on the development of their learning material and learning events.

Reporting to the Head of Learning and Development, key responsibilities will include:

- Lead, design, develop and deliver the Membership L&D Program, offering virtual, in-person, and blended learning interventions
- Establish a structured learning, coaching, and mentoring program to support County Training Officers (CTOs)
- Develop and manage a quality framework to collect relevant quantitative and qualitative management data to assess impact, identify areas for improvement, and capture lessons learned, supporting informed decision-making and continuous learning
- Manage and lead a team of L&D Specialists and an L&D Coordinator
- Collaborate with Membership Services and stakeholders to identify County and Branch development needs, recommending targeted solutions and interventions
- Lead the delivery of exceptional customer service to members by actively listening to their needs and ensuring enquiries are handled promptly and efficiently

This role requires regular travel, weekend and evening work, and overnight stays across the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) to deliver learning interventions to meet the needs of colleagues. The expectation is two to three times a month on average and there is also a requirement to attend our London, Haig House office regularly for team meetings and to build relationships with colleagues outside of delivering training.

You will be contracted to your home address, where you will be expected to work when not travelling or at our London office.

Digital Inclusion Coordinator 

Age Uk Westminster is seeking a Digital Inclusion Coordinator to join our community based inclusion team funded by Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

The Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster Social Isolation project supports and enhances existing Older Adult Mental Health services provided by CNWL by providing targeted outreach digital inclusion support to vulnerable older people with the aim of reducing the impact of loneliness and isolation. We are looking for someone who has confident Digital Inclusion experience and ideally some experience of working with people living with dementia.

The role will include providing intensive coaching, support and troubleshooting with IT skills and equipment as well as working closely with Age UK Westminster’s other services including digital inclusion group sessions and dementia activities. The role will demand a division of time in the office and in clients’ homes in Westminster.

The National Flood Forum is partnering Rochdale Borough Council to deliver one of 25 national projects comprising Defra’s Flood and Coastal Resilience and Innovation Programme (FCRIP) which is managed by the Environment Agency and runs until March 2027. The programme aims to test and create new, innovative approaches to flood and coastal resilience that can be adapted and rolled out more widely as good practice and new ways of delivering positive change.

Our project centres on two frequently flood affected and vulnerable neighbourhoods in the Roch Valley in Rochdale district The communities are complex and include a high incidence of social, economic and environmental disadvantage. It aims to develop a more holistic approach to flood and climate resilience with better management of residual flood risks through new, innovative cross-sectoral approaches that also address climate justice and both flood and fuel poverty. The project will deliver a step change in flood literacy and community participation, increase peoples’ capabilities to respond to flooding, improve flood and climate resilience of ageing housing stock, enhance surface water management, neighbourhood water conservation, natural flood risk management and local green infrastructure and develop better financial resilience for homes and businesses.

This is an exciting role for someone who has experience working at community grassroots or who is passionate about people and working with communities. The National Flood Forum (NFF) is the only independent national charity dedicated to supporting and representing people at risk of flooding. Established in 2002 by those affected by flooding, we passionately put people at the heart of flood risk management. About the Role 

This is a key role acting as a delivery partner on our projects, working on streams of community work, and within the staff team.

Responsibilities 

• Projects and Workstreams: Outstanding delivery on community projects. 

• Community Engagement: Engage and empower communities, supporting and representing them and pushing for the best outcomes.  Being ambitious on their behalf and advocating for change. Supporting senior staff to develop and build community engagement work streams.  Draft and deliver reports.

• Political and Fundraising Support: Provide data, case studies, and research to support political influencing and fundraising activities.

SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis as a result of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice (SLRA is regulated to provide advice at IAA Level 3) as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. SLRA also campaigns for a fairer immigration system, involving local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.

We are looking for an Immigration Advisor who will be responsible for the delivery of immigration advice and casework to service users in a wide range of circumstances, although most will be rough sleepers. Key responsibilities:

• Support the securing of income opportunities by providing financial information for bids, grants, and applications.
