Salary:£29,537.60 (Pro-Rata) Band C, Level 3 - (inclusive of Market Supplement)

Term: 6 months Fixed term contract

Working Hours: 40 hours per week –required to do some weekends where required

About the Seasonal Cook Role: 

As the seasonal cook, you will be providing delicious and nourishing meals that contribute to the overall enjoyment of their time at Hawkhirst. You will also be joining our great team of over 30 international staff and volunteers who provide memorable experiences for our young people.

What we are looking for in our Seasonal Cook:

You will be joined by a Kitchen Assistant to help you create a great catering environment which includes, menu planning, preparing meals & Leading Volunteer team to comply with Food Safety in kitchen and ensure Health and Safety standards are upheld.

• At least 2 years working in a large professional kitchen environment,ei schools or mass catering
• Proven competence in providing basic catering for up to 200 for Breakfast and Lunch
• Experience of problem solving in a customer service focused environment.
• Some experience in either an educational, outdoor educational or visitor experience environment.
• Confidence working in a values based working environment.
• Hold a suitable food hygiene qualification (e.g. Level 2 Food Hygiene)

Key responsibilities as our Seasonal Cook:

• Preparation and cooking of a varied range of nutritious food for guests and staff at mealtimes
• Serve the food to an exceptional standard and interact with the guests and volunteers in an appropriate, knowledgeable and helpful way at all times, in particular with regard to allergens and other dietary requirements
• Assist in the service and clearing of all food, beverages and utensils
• Assist with routine and deep cleaning of the kitchen, food storage, service and dining areas, including heavy and light equipment and machinery, crockery and cutlery, in accordance with the cleaning schedule

The Producer, Early Years & Families is a 2.5-day part-time fixed term role (August 2024- August 2025), responsible for the planning, delivery, development and evaluation of Modern Art Oxford’s programme offer for babies, toddlers, young children and their families and carers. Person Specification

We are looking for an arts professional (artist, curator, educator) with strong interest in creative socially-engaged practice and with a minimum of three years’ experience devising and delivering early year’s projects, working with children from all backgrounds.  This role requires a highly proactive team worker who demonstrates the importance of effective, consistent communication in a dynamic organisation delivering a range of engagement activities.  It is imperative that the position holder is astute in observing safeguarding practices for all workshop participants in accordance with Safeguarding and Health & Safety policy, which includes risk assessments ahead of workshops.

The Hill End Charitable Trust are looking for an enthusiastic and organised person to be our new project coordinator – working with our Centre Director on a wide variety of tasks to create and deliver the projects we need to transform our site and buildings.

The Hill End Outdoor Education Centre has been providing unique outdoor learning experiences to children and adults since the 1920s. Our mission is to provide exciting and meaningful day and residential learning experiences that inspire children, and every visitor, to enjoy and value nature and the outdoors. Managed for decades by local authorities, Hill End is now an independent charitable trust seeking to create a more sustainable future. 

The Role

We are seeking a Project Coordinator on a part-time basis to help us create and deliver our vision to develop our site and buildings for the future. This includes modernising our existing facilities, improving access and becoming more environmentally sustainable.

These are ambitious plans and we are not expecting to achieve everything at once. We are looking to create a series of distinct, prioritised projects so we can move forward and need more people capacity in our small team to do so.

The Project Coordinator is a new role, and will undertake the essential administrative, communication, planning and reporting needed to help make our plans a reality. In the first instance, this will be to assist with key building renovations and improvements such as creation of disabled facilities.

The Project Coordinator will not necessarily have formal project management experience, but must be able to pull together a wide-ranging set of requirements, create and improve processes and practices that will allow us to better manage our site development in future.

This role might suit someone wishing to work either three full days or part of each working day. We are happy to discuss flexible working hours.

Principal Duties

These will include:

Gathering and analysing management data

• Using customer bookings and finance systems to extract key information.
• Defining and reporting on key metrics to evaluate the progress and success of projects.
• Collating and using data as required to help with other key strategic tasks such as cost-benefit analysis and business cases.
•  Providing data as required to support business planning, funding bids, marketing and communication.

Project communication

• Identifying and engaging with a wide range of key stakeholders, such as partners, customers, contractors, consultants and planners.
• Putting in place systems for better project communication, internally and externally.
• Assisting with scheduling of tasks and meetings.
• Reporting as necessary to the Centre Director and Trustees.

Project coordination

• Helping to define project aims, needs and budgets in line with our strategic priorities.
• Obtaining quotations, costings and development options for Hill End to review and approve.
• Assisting with legal and contractual considerations.
• Putting in place new and robust systems to record project progress and next steps.
• Defining and improving existing management systems.
• Helping to create a new project management model for future development.

Knowledge, experience, skills and personal attributes required

The Centre has a small, dedicated staff who are all committed to the aims of the charity. The successful applicant will share the values and enthusiasm of the team. THE PROJECT 

The University of Essex in partnership with We are the Minories (WATM), an arts charity and gallery in a historic townhouse in Colchester, offers an exciting opportunity to a graduate with the relevant skills and knowledge to develop a data led and long-term strategic plan, to enhance WATM’s growth.

The associate will work with WATM’s managers and University of Essex academic supervisors to ensure WATM's sustainable and prosperous future while keeping their community ethos and values at the heart of their activities. This will be achieved through four key strategies:

1. Developing innovative solutions to evaluate and measure the social impact of WATM’s activities to enhance its success rates in funding applications.
2. Introducing business model innovations to support WATM in improving its income generation, such as through new product/service development (e.g., consultancy) and exploring additional income-generating activities like leveraging its physical space.
3. Enhancing WATM’s capabilities in managing both social and economic missions and supporting them in sharing their knowledge through consultancy to third-party organisations.

This post is fixed term for 18 months.  

DUTIES OF THE POST

The duties of the post will include: 

• Conduct literature reviews and summarise findings for a non-academic audience.
• Design and develop a framework to measure social output, outcomes, and impacts of WATM's activities.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
• Develop and design data-driven and customer-driven strategies to improve the sustainability and growth of WATM
• Develop strategies for augmenting earned and grant income.

You will be responsible for supporting young people aged 14-25 years, enabling them to access a range of social, emotional, and practical support as they navigate the complex and challenging processes of the UK asylum system.You will help us run activities for young people at our advice hub on Wednesday evenings in Brent and run our youth group on Thursday evenings in Brent n as well as our sporting activities and trips.

You will work closely with our Brent Youth Development Coordinator. You will need to be able to work under pressure, acting as a consistent and stable point of contact for young people, ensuring that their safety and well-being are paramount.

About you

· Demonstrable experience in supporting vulnerable young people in a similar role, particularly through youth activities in 1;1 and/or group settings, or befriending/mentoring

Job Title:  Finance Manager

Reporting to:  Director of Operations

Direct reports:  Finance Assistants x 2

Contract type: Fixed term (11 months) 28 or 35 hours a week.

Pay: £40,000 (or FTE if doing 28 hours a week)

Key responsibilities – Note the following list is not exhaustive and percentages are indicative only.

Oversight of accounting and cash management

Most of the detailed work in this section is undertaken by the direct reports with the oversight and management being provided by this Finance Manager role

· Appropriate recording, processing, coding, posting of all financial transactions – including but not limited to bank receipts and payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, conference fee income, invoicing, journal entries.

· Regular timely bank reconciliations.

· Invoicing and credit control

· Chart of accounts structure and department codes

· Gift Aid claims

· VAT returns

· Foreign Speaker returns to HMRC

· Regular reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

· Manage the cash needed by the business, investing excess cash to maximise returns

· Manage fixed assets and related accounting

· Oversight, monitoring and management of key financials within our online event booking system including reconciliation of income recorded on the database to that actually received, with a target of reconciliation within 2 weeks of each month end.

HR Administration and Payroll

· Payroll - administration of and preparation of the payroll (Brightpay), including submissions in respect of HMRC and pensions.

 Role Particulars - 

Working Pattern: Full time working hours, including weekly in-person team meetings in London: monthly all-staff meetings on Tuesdays twice a month, and weekly on Tuesdays twice a month.  The nature of this role means that some travel and working away from home will be required, as agreed in advance.  Specifically, the Finance Manager must be available for the annual leadership conference and some or all of the New Wine annual summer festival (on-site or remote support).  

Places of work: This role is eligible for hybrid and flexible working, with a minimum of 1 day in the London office a week. 

Supervision: The post holder will receive regular supervision from their line manager.  

Role review: There is a three-month probationary period for this role.  The post holder will then receive a quarterly rolling review of performance, the role, job description, terms and package.

Carers Hub are an independent local charity, who work with carers aged five upwards. Whether financial, educational or otherwise, they seek to limit the challenges that carers face and achieve this by improving carer’s wellbeing, connecting carers to support and training opportunities, awareness raising and influencing local policy. As they enter the second year of their pilot project, they are now recruiting for a Family Support Worker to join their team, on a FTC basis, initially until March 2025.

As a family Support Worker, you will work across the Young Carers and Adult Carers teams to provide support to families affected by alcohol and/or substance misuse, through whole-family assessments and reviews. You will be helping to ensure that adult and young carers and their families have access to a range of emotional and practical support. You will also work closely with the Young Carers Assessments and Referrals Officer, Identify and prevent inappropriate caring responsibilities, carry out 1-1 casework and maximise support for families through effective partnership working and improved referral pathways.

To be considered for this role you will have experience of working with vulnerable young people and managing complex cases as well as knowledge of safeguarding protocols including referring and escalation to Children’s Social Care. Candidates with a professional qualification in health and social care, youth or community work, and/or direct experience of delivering family focused interventions are encouraged to apply.

Please note, this is a part-time role, 28-hour p/w, ideally spread across 4 days. You will be based on site at their Brixton office, with the option of home working 1 day per week, as well as outreach/in the community. Creative Learning and Participation is at the heart of Modern Art Oxford’s programme.  We offer educational experiences for visitors of all ages, using art and creativity to reach thousands of people from Oxfordshire and beyond every year.

The Producer, Young People & Schools is a 2.5 day part-time fixed term role (August 2024 - August 2025) responsible for the planning, delivery, development and evaluation of Modern Art Oxford’s programme offer for young people and school groups. The position forms part of the Communities, Practice & Participation team (CPP) and is managed by the Head of Communities, Practice and Participation (CPP) at Modern Art Oxford (MAO).

Person Specification

We are looking for an arts professional (artist, curator, educator) with strong interest in creative socially-engaged practice and with a minimum of three years’ experience devising and delivering early year’s projects, working with young people from all backgrounds.  This role requires a highly proactive team worker who demonstrates the importance of effective, consistent communication in a dynamic organisation delivering a range of engagement activities.  It is imperative that the position holder is astute in observing safeguarding practices for all workshop participants in accordance with Safeguarding and Health & Safety policy, which includes risk assessments ahead of workshops.

About the Role:
You will lead on the development and delivery of a prospect research strategy to support the strategic development of our partnership portfolio. You will also oversee all aspects of the prospect pipeline process and present monthly KPI reports to the Partnership Development team, liaising with the Performance and Insights team as required to adapt reports to meet the team's needs.

You will maintain a strong role in understanding and promoting the role of research in enabling our fundraising teams to maximise donor engagement and income, through informed prospect identification, cultivation and stewardship.

More specifically, this includes:

• Proactively identifying prospects that have a strong fit with our strategy in terms of alignment and capacity to give
• Building and managing the prospect pipeline across the team, and leading on 'moves management' to ensure we are effectively managing and supporting potential and existing prospects to have a great experience
• Ensuring our prospect development strategy is understood consistently across the wider Strategic Partnerships team

• Producing research profiles, reports and biographical briefings

About you:

• Educated to degree-level/equivalent educational standard, or significant equivalent work experience
• Strong understanding of the role of research in good prospect management, cultivation and stewardship (in commercial or not-for-profit environment)
• Experience carrying out prospect research for corporate partnerships using relevant databases and research tools
• Very strong research and analytical skills, including ability to produce detailed and insightful profiles and network lists for prospective individual and organisation partners
• Ability to analyse complex information and communicate clearly and credibly for delivery to a variety of audiences in written reports, presentations and meetings

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced ERP Programme Director to lead the successful delivery of MSI’s global finance and supply chain transformation programme. This programme will transform our capabilities and delivery across MSI’s 37 Country Programmes and Global Support Office (GSO) with the introduction of new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) technology, driving us forward to deliver our vital mission.

The Director will shape the overall programme from the outset, so that it is set up for success. The successful candidate will need deep transformation and ERP experience, delivering full ERP programme lifecycles in complex organisations like MSI. For the programme to be successful, building strong relationships with key stakeholders across MSI’s Country Programmes, Regional and Global Support Offices will be crucial.

The transformation programme has been approved and is currently at the inception stage, giving the ERP Programme Director the opportunity to make key strategic decisions that will shape the programme; such as the selection of an ERP technology solution best suited to MSI’s business requirements, appointing and onboarding a third-party implementation partner and to design and recruit the internal project team required to ensure success of the programme.

We anticipate a 3-year programme cycle with occasional international travel to MSI country programmes as required for the successful delivery of the programme.
